jaejae's program MMTG has always been different from other shows and for those who criticize her declining the request never seen the show before. watch the episode when svt come as a guest, she once ask a member to do something but then said "dont do it if you dont want to, we dont want to put preasure on our guest" the guest decline and they moved on. jaejae herself is part of the production team and she is one of the mc that always kind, accomodating, understanding towards idols.

The problem with Shuhua is not that she refuses to do certain things, in that interview he refused to do something, I don't see that as a bad thing, what I do see as bad is that from the beginning she speak informally to a person, in this case JaeJae that she's not close to, besides, JaeJae told her what happened to being polite referring to the way of speaking informally even the other Gidle members told Shuhua I don't know why you are speaking so informally. This event happened at the beginning of the video so she could change and speak formally using honorifics and this reaction would have been avoided. That's the only problem I see. She can refuse to do something if she doesn't feel comfortable, that's fine but, from the beginning they tell you that you have to be polite referring to speaking formally with honorifics and even so without being close to the presenter you go and don't give a fuck is really disrespectful.

@ExOsa Why must you insult me when I didn’t insult you, nor Shuhua? I simply explained how what Shuhua did is wrong. I speak Korean, and that’s why I understand how jarring this is. It’s not something you can easily explain. Speaking informally to the wrong person is a culturally rude thing, and when I say people don’t do it, I mean it. It’s like calling your mother by her first name. People just don’t do it, and when they do, it’s shocking and taken as disrespect. This comparison is not meant to be taken literally, but it’s to show that there are unwritten social rules about what is rude. In this case, you don’t understand the social nuance because you don’t speak Korean, and so it seems like people are needlessly attacking Shuhua. Koreans aren’t overreacting, and you implying so is very culturally insensitive. Its made worse by the fact that JJ maintained formal speech, while Shuhua did not. This is not how things work in Korea, and clearly JJ wished to maintain formal speech. it’s not about being offended on behalf of others. When you go on the RUclips comments, it’s only Koreans being shocked and offended by her use of informal speech. When you incorrectly use informal speech, it is taken like you are reducing the other person, regardless of your intentions.
Also, it is a ‘work’ setting. Shuhua was not invited because JJ wanted to hang out with her, they were invited to promote. And even still, honorifics are used no matter the setting. It’s a matter of politeness and mutual respect. JJ definitely minded and was taken aback by her informality, but what can she really do except make a joke about it, which she did? Regardless of whether JJ was offended, Shuhua disrespected the Korean culture of politeness. As a fan, I think you should at least be able to admit when your idols are wrong. You won’t lose anything, and Shuhua has everything to gain. This is deeply offensive to Koreans, and that is the country in which they operate.

It's not about declining a request, it's about how informal she is to the interviewer. She uses the most informal speech in korean to speak with someone in a professional setting, and someone that uses the formal language. You clearly aren't familiar with Korean culture to believe that she did nothing wrong. Speaking in an informal way is very rude and condescending since only people who are higher than you in hierarchy can speak to you that way in a professional setting. Exept that she is not here.

As a person who cares her so much, I always thought someone should teach her. I want her to stay natural as herself is but at the same time I knew she will be in some trouble for that someday. And I'm pretty sure many Korean Neverlands thought the same and I even saw someone saying the same thing 2 years ago. I'm not saying she's rude. She's not rude. She just doesn't know. You can speak in '반말' (informal way of speech) to someone but there is an unspoken rule in this society. Shuhua just doesn't know the rule. Where is the problem by saying she don‘t want to act like other actresses? It‘s actually pretty rude that all MCs asked her why she posted a ugly pic and why she didn’t deleted it. She is just being herself and there is nothing rude about it. And we all know that Shuhua is probably not even interested in such rumors...she knows herself and Neverland know her too.

I feel like it's not about the request but the way she spoke informally, since from what i've learnt one thing that is really important in korea is speaking formally, that's why i feel like they found her disrespectful but aside from that her declining a request wasn't something to make a huge deal about because it's normal. ( now i'm not korean nor have ever been to korea but i've been a kpop fan for a long time and this is what i think is one of the most important things in korea, now if i'm wrong correct me )

I think Shuhua has the right to do so. If she didn't want to do what the host requested, she doesn't have to; she's not obliged to do everything she's requested to do. I don't think she was being extremely rude when she told the host what she said, she was just saying what...I think most people would say in that situation. I don't know too much about Korean language itself, so I don't know a lot about the parts of it being informal and formal. Although, I don't think Shuhua should be required to be "nice" and "polite," and not just Shuhua, but all idols, since well...they are humans too and they aren't nice all the time.

let her be her. Just because she's an idol, it doesn't mean that she has to embody everything that is perfect. She's human too, and an adult. She can do what she wants, and if she doesn't feel comfortable with something he's asking, she doesn't have to do it. I think once someone becomes an idol, people immediately think that they should all behave perfectly.

By the way Shu Hua as a Taiwanese,
in the eyes of a Malaysian audience myself towards Taiwanese variety shows,
Shu Hua is actually is considered in quite okay manner but could be wild sometimes in controllable manner.
She speaks brilliantly and in Taiwanese context (and also me as a Malaysian) Shu Hua knows what she is doing and she controls what she wants and do what she likes and politely to refuse requests that she thinks it's uncomfortable for her and she is also considered as a person with distinctive personality ;)
I actually quite like her personality after they started to release 'Tomboy' and I started to see their true colours in their music work.
    That's the attitude gal =D
Before 'Tomboy' I only know (G)-IDLE kinda quite a hit among K-pop community but the works they putting out there didn't even spark a tiny interest/curiosity in me towards their off-stage stuffs LOL
I used to think Shu Hua is a timid girl LOL
But now I see her as common Taiwanese artist with a clear cut attitude.
Once ago a famous Malaysian RUclipsr / celebrity, Namewee,
gave a clear cut statement through one of his famous music work,
    'Ghost Island',
which clearly describe how Taiwan is one of the world's weirdest most freedom and most daring place on the unlimited boundary of speech freedom!
While the China member, if you watch the recent Uncle Roger get cancelled by CCP gag short video, you will understand she grew in such constricted country with communism political ideology environment...
