It always amazes me how Soyeon knows exactly what she wanted from each members in their respective parts, and how the members completely listens and accurately executes each of Soyeon's directions..
5 years in, and have self-produced everything since I Made. (Not sure if Soyeon was in the recording booth since Day 1 though). I can only imagine how many hours they've spent in the recording studio together. A couple hours, each member, for each song. They know eachother so well at this point.

Actually she was pretty famous as a trainee bc of Unpretty rappstar bc she produced a track there and she made maze as a first dong for idle then they were waiting for cube to give them title track but it didnt happen and she got her own studio room and made Latata and they debuted. Since day one she made logo, concept, song and mv idea with clothing style. She made Idle not cube u can hear about it in her vlog form seniorita era.

@@izzywoods794you can find it splattered around in their i-talks. Especially in their early debut days. Their debut got delayed so Soyeon took matter in her own hands and wrote Latata. The company didn't like the song but the girls do, so they insisted. In the end, she only participated with lyric-writing for I am b-sides, only wrote, composed and produced Latata. But for I made she started to be even more hands-on. Until I trust (their 3rd mini) became the first mini album written solely by a member of the girl group. Like she was the only songwriter in the entire album. The first female idol to do so. Ever.
So yes, she's responsible for IDLE's everything. Their concept, their success. She's the brains. The girls will always thank her first in any of their thank you speeches if they win anything. That's how much she's done for the group.
And the lines she gave them is really TAILORED to their voices... When they exchanged their parts during the encore performance I was like okay there's a reason why the members were originally given those parts because it was made for them... Soyeon really knows her members so well
It cannot be understated how much of a grasp Soyeon has over the human voice and resonators.
I studied how we make sound with our breath and head in school, and I'm floored at Soyeon's producing here. Not only is she directing her members to give different sounds and attitudes for each line, but she's demonstrating her direction by doing it herself AND giving them very clear instruction on where to send the breath to produce the right sound for the moment. I'm... I'm blown away.
I find Soyeon's technical knowledge impressive too. I just watched the recording of SuperLady and she got Yuqi to physically bend over to use her head voice more, then Yuqi replicated it perfectly.
I wonder who Soyeon learned from and if it was 1 very good instructor or if she learned from many different sources? I have no doubt she continues to lean but she seems to have a very solid foundational knowledge of singing.

And that one part when yuqi couldn’t reach the high note, but soyeon immediately knew how yuqi needed to shape her mouth to hit it and then she was able to hit it right after. She also seems to know what kind of technique will help which member. Like for shuhua she teaches something completely different than what she does for yuqi. I honestly think soyeon is super underrated as a singer

Soyeon is just so good, she is always ranked last on vocals by fans because other members are supposed to be vocals and she’s the rapper but we can easily see there that she managed everyone recording showing them by singing herself the best way to make them shine.

Well, first of all, our fandom is full of biased solos stans... To me, as a person who has been engaged in dancing for many years and teaching professionally dance + a vocals too (honestly, well, my sister is better here than me), it’s always funny how Cube and our fandom (amateur...) appreciate / 'understand' vocals, singing and dancing ... An example I don’t understand / and I protest how Yuqi with her Zero dancing technique, got a dance position... She is absolutely weak in all elements (at least) necessary for a good dancer : isolation (very bad / missing completely), stage presence (average / constantly looking at the floor, not at the audience ... beginner level.), sharpness (average), facial expressions (average, not varied...), energy execution (not bad), precision (average to bad), fluidity (very bad / missing completely), lining (average), musicality (good) ... Ultimately, they don't know anything. But for five years, they have been insulting and bullying Soyeon constantly... We're tired of putting up with it.
How is Soyeon so pitch accurate just sitting there correcting her fellow members? Does she have perfect pitch? She also clearly gives instructions for vocal use without any technical terms. What a genius!
And its clear the other members trust her 100% in how it will sound the best or of course its possible maybe they edited away any arguing about what they want it to sound like.Soyeon really knows how she want this to sound in every detail,its fascinating to see.Everytime ive seen this i think woooow😂

Wow! This is crazy! Soyeon does a STELLAR job of (EFFICIENTLY) bringing out the best of each vocalist, tuning, tweaking, refining. Giving them perfect examples. She is the perfect leader. She KNOWS the way, and she SHOWS the way. She literally could sing the whole song herself, but "swaps in" the other vocalists to get their unique timbre and characteristics. TRULY MASTERFUL Producing!! Nice Work Ladies!

I am impressed with how Soyeon is able to suggest different ways for members to physically sing as well as expression and emotion. She seems to have a great fundermental knowledge of singing.

Most people say Soyeon's English lyrics are cringe or her English is bad but I think she knows what she's doing. She purposely drops some words to make the song catchy and flow nicely. N it's something kinda unique about their songs

Ikr. It's not even a bad thing and it's a common thing in songs. Singers will try to pronounce words to make it 'suit' the music itself.
why not hire a translator to tweak the words to make it flow and still make sense? Like the "i'm top" part, she could've changed it to "on top" and also the "looks so sex like kim kardashian" part sounds weird too. could've had help searching another word for "sexy" if a two syllable word doesn't fit

진짜 전소연도 대단하지만 외국인 멤버들이 알맹이 있게, 땡땡하게, 개구쟁이 처럼 요런 느낌을 또 어찌 저리 잘 알고 착착 하는지 진짜 다른 그룹 레코딩 영상은 안봐도 아이들은 알아서 알고리즘에 뜨고 꼭 보게된다
큐브가 얼마나 자랑스러웠으면 이런 영상을 올릴까 ㅋㅋ 큐브는 소연이가 보물일듯. 음악도 연기와 비슷하다고 생각함. 이곡은 각자 멤버들이 자기 역할에 맞게 연기 너무 잘함.

I love how Soyeon goes in there and does her part exactly how she wants it and your waiting for someone to critique her or tell her what to do but then you realize she's the one calling the shots. She comes out and then proceeds to lead the rest of the recording lol
That's the work of a producer. :) Every group has a producer on the booth calling the shots, because he/she knows what they want to produce. That's why it's so awesome that I-Dle self produces, instead of just having someone else, an outsider, calling the shots and dictating their direction. It pisses me off so much when haters bash on Soyeon for making "all the decisions" when that's not even true. But in the booth, yes, it's her call. Not because she's the leader, but because she's the producer too.

Interestingly enough, there's a recent interview the last couple days that came out, where Soyeon said they were going to do Allergy as the title track and instead went with Queencard, which was written fairly recently. Really cool how quickly professionals can work, and that they're willing to change plans.
@YeonLover Yup. I personally liked Allergy a lot more, but I think they made a good decision here. Allergy ends up being a monster pre-release that directly leads into Queencard. And, Queencard itself is, in many ways, an ideal flagship for the album---fun/catchy earworm chorus, glamorous MV, dance challenges are perfect for Tiktok, should be a great song in live setlists... and the MV has a very positive ending that I think a lot of people encouraged by and will want to share.
They have to record it, have a choreographer create a dance, get the creative director to make a concept and MV/style, plan and shoot a MV, design and shoot pics for the album. Im surprised they got it out this early😅

Miyeon's voice is just so perfect
I really love Soyeon's direction style. She knows what she wants the sound to be and is very effective in communicating it to each member. I'd love to see a production behind the scenes video seeing her develop the entire piece and putting it together. Knowing the meticulous effort that goes into each song just makes me appreciate it so much more, and seeing the artists themselves involved in the creation of each piece from start to finish makes me admire this group so much. Very well done.

Miyeon's consistency is such an asset to the team.
Its nice seeing Shuhua's improvment but its interesting seeing how she struggles with rhythm and timing. She rushes a lot. Especially while recording the "i wanna with you ppoppo m. I wanna with you ppong" part. But her cuteness is the perfect balance for the team.
Soyeon reminds me more and more of Zico. Even this song sounds like a zico-produced Block B song

맞아요.. 이래서 아이들 노래가 컴백할때마다 기록 갱신하는 것 같아요.. 특히 소연이는 프로듀싱, 노래, 랩, 춤,등등 뭐 하나 부족한거 없이 잘 해내고 다른 멤버들도 잘 해내고 있으니 앞으로 더 대박날것 같아요! 아이들!! 네버랜드가 응원하고 있으니까 화이팅!!
