Guidance is great in tabletop DnD when you get a cleric who ACTUALLY role plays a faith-filled character. Mechanically, it has its purpose too, but it was always a good excuse for interesting flavor-talk as well.
This is something I find absolutely terrifying about the mindflayer infestation worm thing. The brain does not have pain receptors. So it is possible that through out this entire time the PC's brain was being eaten and replaced by the worm.
As soon as I saw Odd level up I knew he was gonna make the exact same mistakes he did every time he levelled up in the Early Access, lol. No looking at any of his new abilities, just press next, next next and dive straight back into the game. My sweet simple man.
It seems Larian studios has a bit of a thing for making you start the game proper on a beach. Divinity OS you start on a beach after arriving in a boat, Divinity OS 2 you wash up on a beach after being shipwrecked, and now this game you (fall) wash up on a beach after you shipwreck in a flying ship. Seems they like the beach as a start point for your journey.
I usually only buy big games once they go on sale but I can't help but support this, Larian really deserves my money. We don't get many RPGs like this anymore.
God just hearing you two talk really takes me back to your original sin 1 playthrough really need this to be a full game playthrough. If there is any duo that can really dig into this game and not just rush it while also being entertaining in the slow bits it's you 2. Loveless I know you read these as well just know I personally dont think there is anyone Odd could play these types of games with other then you. 15:40 - a sublimate is a substance that has undergone sublimation, which means it has changed from a solid state to a gaseous state without being liquid in between. There aren't a whole lot of real world scenario's where the difference between a sublimate and an evaporated gas matter, but this is fantasy alchemy, not real world chemistry. "Sublimate" is a term that shows up in medieval and early modern texts about alchemy pretty regularly.
Awesome video. As an avid DnD player and DM, I love seeing this, and can't wait to get my hands on it on Xbox eventually. Piece of advice: keep in mind that characters can normally only concentrate on 1 spell at a time. So, if you cast a spell that requires concentration (like Bless) and then cast something else that requires concentration (like Shield of Faith), then you stop casting the first spell you were concentrating on, and lose the benefits of that spell. Also, when concentrating on a spell, if you get hit, you'll need to make a CON saving throw with a DC of half the damage you took (rounded up) to determine if you can maintain concentration on the spell. I know DnD comes with a bit of a learning curve, and we've all been there. I'll be happy to help with whatever advice or tips I can provide, and I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have. :)
If you get GeForce NOW you can play it from the cloud on a 4080 rig. The latency is pretty darn good these days and it doesn’t even matter in a game like this anyway. Anyway, that’s my plan with my Mac Mini until it gets released on Xbox or I get a gaming PC.

You can also pick up crates, backpacks and all containers. If you cant't open a chest, just pick it up and send it to camp. You can than open it later. Nice playthrough!
Long game tip: get familiar with Throw, Dip and Shove. Yes you can throw potions at people far away. Jump can get you to different areas of the map that, at first glance, might look like you cant get to.
@@LucklessLovelocksJump also only costs 3m of movement (and bonus action of course) but reaches further than 3m on most characters. (Especially with STR main stat) It essentially gives you further movement if you arent planning on using your bonus action any other way.
That's interesting. As a custom background rogue, I had the option to screw with the sigil and "sabotage" it, which I'm guessing would have had the same outcome. I didn't see how sabotage would be a good thing in this case, so I avoided it lol.
Druids don’t need to restore HP on wild shape if they can drop wild shape and use another charge of the shapeshifting spell… those spell charges recover on short rest, making it more efficient than using short rest to heal wild shape damage, usually
Just finished this episode, loved it, wanted to tell you that sneak attack can be used against enemies as long as they are engaged with another ally. Sneaking is not needed for that extra damage to proc
over 200 hours playing so far, and wished every day for a way to sort the inventories when you have the party view up. never looked in the top left of the screen I guess. Thank you! @ 30:00

It's a pity you couldn't get Commander Zhalk's sword in the first episode. That thing would have been a great weapon for Karlach to use. It's one of the best early game weapons in the game while also being one of the simplest and easiest to obtain. It's strong enough that it can either one-shot or almost one-shot most early game enemies with minimal difficulty. IIRC it does 2d10 slashing damage + 1d8 Fire damage, so it hits like a truck.
I understand your more then likely way further ahead then your vids given that your referencing ep 5. However just a little bit of help the rouge benefits from the rapier alot more then the dagger imo both are Dex and both pierce but the rapier does more dmg reliably. If I see more tiny things I'll give my two cents having a blast.

Well I'm looking it late, and maybe u know it now but... gale doesn't die u find him later if u do certain things.. and u could also make him a companion, the Dark Urge path has many stuff to offer if u always chose that path
So Rogues use Dexterity based Weapons.. like Daggers.. or Short Swords.. or Rapiers.. or Bows.. Right now he should be able to use a Rapier as the Strongest Melee Weapon and a Long Bow as the strongest Ranged Weapon..
Finesse weapons, yes. Longbow is a martial weapon. Rogues can only handle simple weapons. Light crossbows are what you want to use at this stage, if you want to min max.
@@Dark__Thoughts true.. I forgot that he's a Half-Elf Rather than a Full Blooded Elf.. otherwise he'd have gotten Proficiency with Long Bows for free for being an Elf.. so yes.. Light Crossbows and Rapiers are his Strongest Weapons at this point.. though Multiclassing can increase the number of weapons he's proficient with there is almost no point unless you want to make him a dedicated Ranged Character..
@@Stolenbyfriend Never mind actually. He's a high elf, which do get elven weapon training. But at this stage I don't think you can find any longbow anyway. Personally I find him too obnoxious to take with me though. I'd rather take one of the dex hirelings or respec one of the other companions into a dex class for lockpicking.

He pre records the videos be he uploads them. So it wasn't for 3 episodes. For him it was only for a few hours before he realized. He then let us know when he finally started uploading the videos.

Well we're learning. We played it in early access when it first came out and barely remember anything. So yeah, we barely understand the game but learn as we play like any game.

When you cast Shield of faith, I think it removed bless, as both are probably concentration spells
Correct. Shield of Faith and Bless are both Concentration spells, so you can only have one active from a given character at a time.

Just got introduced to dip. I totally didn't notice that at all.
Jump can also get you out of slippery terrain like grease or ice without doing a check.

Honestly maybe that would have made things too easy. We're on normal and so far we haven't had to think too hard during fights.
Mine says 2d6 with 1d4 fire. Think they nerfed it.
It's crazy how long that sword stays around. It's better than most weapons you'll find in act one and a good chunk of act 2.

He pre records the videos be he uploads them. So it wasn't for 3 episodes. For him it was only for a few hours before he realized. He then let us know when he finally started uploading the videos.

Well we're learning. We played it in early access when it first came out and barely remember anything. So yeah, we barely understand the game but learn as we play like any game.
