Absolutely thrilled to hear someone that was born when this came out played it and loved it. One of my favorite games of all time, even to this day. Please do yourself a favor and play Chrono Trigger... if you loved this, you will not regret it.
Thanks for making this, I don’t have enough time to replay it so this was great to watch, I’d recommend listening to the new orchestrated soundtrack made for the pixel remaster, it’s excellent
FF9 pretty much made a nudge to the Opera House scene. Garnet was being kidnapped during the false play Zidane's gang was doing and then they all fall into the scene.
Your excitement for a game that is 26 years old is priceless. It made watching your experience with the game that much more enjoyable. There is something really cool watching someone play a game for the first time and see them enjoy the experience. I love FF6 so I’m glad you enjoyed it too!
Kefkas one of the few villians to destory the world and rule in it and one of the firsts. Hes pretty deadly especially to not care about rearranging the whole world.
@@krusenator123 Yeah. Most RPG enthusiasts often rate 6 and 9 as the best in the series. 7 and 10 aren't bad entries, just not the best. They both still beat 12, 13 and 15 anyway. You vould say that not including MMOs, FFX was the last good one. (Just ignore the X-2 part :P)
You’ve played an amazing masterpiece, FF6 is the absolute best in the series, the music, the character backstories, definitely the artstyle, the last game to use the charming 2D Sprites. I wish we could get another 16 Bit Final Fantasy. This game was my gateway into the series, everyone should play this game at least once in their life. It has the most playable characters in the series to this day and the most customization next to FF7 and each character also has their own unique abilities and skills. Kefka is the most insane and crazed villain in history they need to put him in a Kingdom Hearts as a Secret Boss.
Brian Noland All those things you mentioned maybe could be re-balanced in a Remake but it’s up for debate whether people would love to see FF6 Remade, some say it’s good enough as is but yeah you can grind Cactuars to make everyone Magic Overlords and yes it defeats the purpose of using Physical Attacks and unique skills but it’s a choice, you don’t have to necessarily make everyone know every type of Magic Spell. It’s like in FF2 and FF8 where you can overpower yourself before ever progressing through the first plot point by attacking yourself for HP growth or using Card Mod for spells.
This came up in a conversation with my brother recently. I remember the hours spent walking that one stupid patch of land more than I remember a lot of the story
On the 8th or so playthrough of the game I figured out the book on turbo button banon raft loop. Sabin was my favorite so having him smote people with his suplex was the point anyways.
man i REALLY wanna see her first whole playthrough of this. i enjoy watching people playing this for the first time with no spoilers,no walkthroughs,no backseaters.
I've been playing this game since it's original release, and have probably played through it a dozen times. I never realized that Gerad is an anagram for Edgar... Extremely entertaining and worthwhile content! You are absolutely delightful.
hey Sarah, if you would play SNES games, i would recommend playing Super Mario RPG The Legend of Seven Stars guess who made the soundtrack? Yes, Aunt Yoko herself It's my favorite SNES game
@@Luciusthestorms yeah. I wasn't going to buy the new one no matter what once I saw that it wasn't an RPG. "Funny dialogue" isn't a game seller to me sorry.
I wish that you would have had a reaction to the scene post credits where your video ended. Being able to see Terra with the wind blowing in her hair and the music swelling always brought a tear to my eye.
I was born in 1984 so I can honestly say that back then during the early 90s were the good days of great RPGs. Breath of Fire, Secret of Mana, Legend of Lagia, Earth Bound and Zelda Link to the Past and last but not least Final Fantasy 7
Yep. I think it was actually the perfect sweet spot of technology and cultural activity at the time, but we didn't necessarily know it then. Before this, designers had good ideas, but the technology was too limited for games like this, after this, everyone got carried with how good the technology became, flashy graphics increasingly became the main selling point, and gaming became more mainstream -> tolerance and tendency towards making turn based RPGs mostly focused on plot with lots of dialogue plummeted. A similar thing happened with the internet itself.
@@NickHchaos I most definitely agree. I am satisfied with SquareEnix doing the FF7 Remake and moving forward with it but I would love to see a FF6 remake.
Thanks for this. This was one of my favorite FF game growing up. Pro Tip: when you're on the floating island trying to escape the countdown (before the World of Ruin), select "Wait" instead of "Jump" and when countdown reaches zero Shadow will make it back and he will join your party for the rest of the game.
Cyan's theme is and will always be my favorite character music in all of Final Fantasy! He just has such a great story with the phantom train and stuff...
My favorite game of all time. Thanks for playing the baby to my heart. Final Fantasy is literally my life. SNES is my favorite console for RPGs. I love them all!
I'm so glad you took the opportunity to play this game. Not a lot of people give it the time of day just because it's from the SNES era, but it has the best story out of any Final Fantasy game and it's such a shame to pass on it. I also got to see the opera scene performed live at a Distant Worlds concert in New York a few years ago and it was magical.
Its the best game ever to me, none come even close second. But to fully understand you should have played it as a kid... the "conection" back in the day we had with the pixel characters, just imagine... if you, now in 2020 can connect and feel sad in scenes of bunch os sprites when we already have virtual reality games, imagine back in 94 when it was THE BEST graphic available at the time! My 13 y.o. imagination flew to the skies and beyond with this game... be train suplexing, operasinging, esper grinding, T-rex fighting, gengi gloving, offring-ring, searching for secrests without the internet to tell me where they are, trying to defeat the archmage at the top of magetower and discoverying that he do a last attack which requires you to have 6k+hp to survive... so many stories, moments and memmories. Anyway, thank you for bring back those memmories, and makes me really happy to see this game can make new fans even today.
Final fantasy 6 was one of my first RPGs i ever played. I absolutely loved your video. The way u did the dialogue/commentary was perfect. Nothing better than a gorgeous woman who plays games.
This game came out when I was 8 years old, and it's been one of my absolute favorites since my brother bought it nearly 30 years ago. I'm glad you enjoyed it too!
I think it's awesome to think this game had both Tetsuya Takahashi and Tetsuya Nomura involved, even as part of the graphic direction team. To think both of these guys would then go on to be the heads of the Xeno (from Xenogears to Xenosaga all the way to Xenoblade) and Kingdom Hearts franchises respectively is honestly awesome. ^___^ (Nomura providing the designs of the Torna characters in Xenoblade 2 being a fun fact as well)
Honestly, one of the best games of all time. And IMHO, the best single-player FF of all time (with 9 coming in a close second, and 4 third). Very character-driven game, and the largest cast of any single-player FF. I played hours upon hours upon hours of this game when I was in high school - would beat it and start all over again. And this was before Square invented New Game+ with Chrono Trigger.
I've legit beat this game over 50 times (mostly as a kid, but every few years I pull it up and beat it again. I love the General Leo Lives mod and the Brave New World mods. Brave new world is actually better than the original game, just a little harder and you can't spam quick+ultima, Ultima+Ultima, Ultima+Ultima.
This game has got to have one of THE best end game scenes and credit rolls of all time. The characters, the storyline and oh man, the music - triple trifecta. ESPECIALLY the music. It really is epic! You cannot duplicate this game to match that moment.
Wasnt expecting to watch a play through of my favorite final fantasy game but here I am. Absolutely loved the commentary and the reactions was great to see someone else feeling all the feely feelers this game touches. Such a well made game quite possibly my favorite rpg of all time. Chrono Trigger is another great SNES title and if you ever want to check another good RPG Star Ocean the Second Story for the PS1 is fantastic (Also the other RPG vying for #1 in my heart) The first Star Ocean for SNES was also a good game but I have yet to finish that one
If nothing else, just Sabin suplexing the train would be all they need for a trailer for the remake... Also it's war of the Magi (ma-jI with emphasis on the "eye" in the word), which could be told as the magic/magicka war (fire>fira>firaga explains why magicka is correct)
I envy you being able to experience this for the first time, but I'll admit, watching you enjoy it brought back so many memories and emotions. This is, hands down, my favorite FF game and the greatest game I have ever played in my life. Glad you had fun! I bought this soundtrack by ordering it from the order form that came with the SNES game. It was the first game soundtrack I had ever bought and I still have it. Its one of my most prized possessions. Fantastic soundtrack.
I know this is random but a game I highly suggest playing is Eternal Sonata. This game is not very well known and it can be a little hard from time to time but the story is amazing in my opinion. I love the characters and battle system.
I just want to thank you for doing this. I'm sure the editing wasn't easy, but I was 11 when this game came out and so this series and in particular, this game (and Chrono Trigger) have a special place in my heart. It's good to know young gamers like yourself know and enjoy the classics when they play them. If you do play more of these SNES JRPGs, like Chrono Trigger, or Terranigma, I will continue to watch. BTW, Sabin was my personal favorite character in this game, though they are all so great.
... there was a bit more to the ending after the credits, including the iconic moment Terra lets her hair out and free at the bow of the ship. hope you caught it (as well as Shadow's connection to xxxxx)
This was thoroughly delightful to watch. FF6 is one of the most formative pieces of media of my childhood and watching you get choked up at the same points I did made me remember those times. Thank you for this.
Also, Lufia and the Fortress of Doom and Lufia 2 Rise of the Sinistrals (especially 2), and Breath of Fire 1 and 2. And this one is maybe seen as kind of iffy for the best collection because it is a bit different from the others maybe, idk, but I like Paladin's Quest.
this is my favorite game of all time, so nice to see that even now people are finding the joy of this game. ( if you wait till the last second shadow comes back btw)

You have a gift in putting key moments into light and I really appreciate your work. It's clear you put a lot of heart and passion in the making of these videos. Thank you so much ! :)
So, when Rachel was revived the First Pheonix’s magicite shattered. The magicite you receive from Rachel is her own magicite. I like the idea that she watched over him for the rest of the game as Maduin watches over his daughter.
I swear I beat the game like 3 times before I found out you could wait for him. The only bigger surprise was when I finally found out Shadow is Relms father.
If you noticed, she technically "waited" the first time because she hit that dead end patch and didn't know where to go - she just didn't execute it properly. I don't blame her for not knowing. To most people, Shadow's last line about waiting for him sounds like flavor text - not a legitimate HODOR moment at the edge of a cliff. I guess you could argue that the "Wait for Shadow" 2nd line of the text at the edge would give it away, but that's easily missable on your first playthrough.
I love, love, love this game. Played through at least six times. The opera scene is one of the greatest scenes in the history of the series. The second half in the world of ruin is a great playthrough. Kefka needs a return in the series at some point.
Kudos to this game, making me think I lost and had to restart around a dozen times, but really just part of the story lol. Was fun to watch you play through!
Ff6 (ff3 when I played it on SNES) will always be my favorite JRPG ever. The graphic style, the music, characters, etc were incredible. The tragic stories and characters still move me. I've played through countless times on different platforms. I don't have words to properly explain how much I love this game. It's nice to see a youngster enjoy it almost 30 years later!
This was the videogame back in the day that started my love of videogames. That lead to just about every other nerdy thing I love now. It was wonderful to watch it through someone else's eyes again. Thank you very much.
I loved watching all of your reactions to this game, I could tell you genuinely loved playing it and yes the Rachel part was very sad, I felt you on that one. Such an amazing game that will always be a classic for generations to come

Can't wait to see you play Chrono Trigger, too! I beat it for the first time back in February and I love it so much. Trust me, you're gonna love it. Especially the music! This game is one of the things that made me love tragedy in storytelling. I love this game so much.
@@MnemonicHack The thing that makes the tragedy really work though is the fact that despite how tragic things get in this game, the characters overcome it.
@@SBaby Definitely. Tragedy without resolution is just depressing, which is fine sometimes, but not for things like mainstream games and stuff.

Thanks for making this, I don’t have enough time to replay it so this was great to watch, I’d recommend listening to the new orchestrated soundtrack made for the pixel remaster, it’s excellent
Terra's 18, more like a little sister. I would thoroughly recommend Chrono Trigger. There's a version on Steam that runs fairly well.
I have the DS version of Chrono Trigger and FF III and the Game boy version of 1/2 and 3- 6
FF9 pretty much made a nudge to the Opera House scene.
Marvel: We have the best villain in Thanos.
DC: We have the best villain in the Joker.
Final Fantasy 6: We have both of them in Kefka.
how could you say something so controversial yet so brave
That is so true!
American comics are pretty boring tbh. Only ever enjoyed X-Men and Spidey to a lesser degree
Kefkas one of the few villians to destory the world and rule in it and one of the firsts. Hes pretty deadly especially to not care about rearranging the whole world.
Final fantasy 7: we have sephiroth
FF6 has gotten no love like the other FFs in terms of remakes/remasters. Arguably a better FF than FF7. Fight me 😂
PS: I love you so much, Sarah! ❤️😍
indeed, but 7 had the time sinkhole aka the golden saucer lol
Indeed. Because FF6 is their greatest masterpiece, so it would be the most challenging to remaster.
@@AkamiChannel lmao greatest masterpiece no that's X sorry
@@krusenator123 No he was right. FF6 is the top rated FF in the series.
I agreeeee
Kefka's in Union χ as a Heartless boss
Brian Noland
All those things you mentioned maybe could be re-balanced in a Remake but it’s up for debate whether people would love to see FF6 Remade, some say it’s good enough as is but yeah you can grind Cactuars to make everyone Magic Overlords and yes it defeats the purpose of using Physical Attacks and unique skills but it’s a choice, you don’t have to necessarily make everyone know every type of Magic Spell. It’s like in FF2 and FF8 where you can overpower yourself before ever progressing through the first plot point by attacking yourself for HP growth or using Card Mod for spells.
You sir speak the absolute truth.
On Point!
Kefka: "Now for my next trick... I will make you all... disappear!"
LOOK OUT, HE'S GOT A PENCIL!!!!!!
Love the Earthbound reference.

I was really hoping this video had 20 minutes of dinosaur forest grinding.

I did on stream I just forgot to include it in the video lol
No problem, just afraid you might have missed it, sometimes things can be sneaky like that.
My favorite game of all time. Thanks for playing the baby to my heart. Final Fantasy is literally my life. SNES is my favorite console for RPGs. I love them all!
It's good to see an old game learned by a new kid. Thank you for playing. :')
This brought back so many wonderful memories as a kid. Also just noticed from watching this video that GERAD re-arranged is EDGAR.
Love how you invested to the story and this show these pixel is better than almost 3d game
Mad cool to see the younger gen appreciating this amazing work that formed so many of us
Bless you young lady. It's nice to see someone take the time to grace their gaming experience with a gem like this.
Shadow my favourite character in this game and the whole Final Fantasy Universe his story is one of the best 💞
Seeing you so enthusiastic about this old game is so heartwarming. The smiles are contagious.
Final fantasy 6 was one of my first RPGs i ever played. I absolutely loved your video. The way u did the dialogue/commentary was perfect. Nothing better than a gorgeous woman who plays games.
Honestly FFVI was a masterpiece of its time, they pushed it to the limit and it truly payed off
This game came out when I was 8 years old, and it's been one of my absolute favorites since my brother bought it nearly 30 years ago. I'm glad you enjoyed it too!
I appreciate the time & effort you put into your videos!
FF4 was special too
This game has got to have one of THE best end game scenes and credit rolls of all time.
"This music reminds me of Sephiroth." *Literally everything is on fire as soon as she exits the room*
Kudos to Sarah for taking her time for editing this video! She did a great job!

So, when Rachel was revived the First Pheonix’s magicite shattered. The magicite you receive from Rachel is her own magicite. I like the idea that she watched over him for the rest of the game as Maduin watches over his daughter.
Best game ever! Never watched your channel before but I thoroughly enjoyed your abridged retelling of the story.
She didn’t wait for shadow !
Reminded me of my first playthrough :)
Most people don't know that is even possible until after they finish the game.
I didn't as well the first time I played. Lol...
31:33 best reaction to Ultros.
I love, love, love this game. Played through at least six times. The opera scene is one of the greatest scenes in the history of the series. The second half in the world of ruin is a great playthrough. Kefka needs a return in the series at some point.
He'd actually work well as a dark eidolon. (though I suppose a reuse a la Cid could work, too, if they had a fun story for him)
