Love this. I’ve been thinking and researching for one for my garage and this looks to be the most practical looking setup I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing
I’m using an Epson, but I wish I had a nicer one that went a little brighter, mine washes out from the sun and windows during the day. Looks great at night though!
Wow, very impressive…. I like it a lot…I’m a terrible golfer, (22hcp) and only short, (5’7”), 8’ seems pretty low, but you hit there with good clearance, how tall are you??
Great video.. needed to see this. Was looking at the HomeCourse retractable screen as a solution in my garage. Question, when the screen is folded, how wide is it? Trying to understand how wide the retraction unit is. And, with being two years ago, how has it held up? Thanks!!
Thanks Kenny! When folded it’s a little under 9’ wide, including the end caps. It’s held up pretty well; considering I teach part time in my garage. Lots of juniors beating balls, I replaced my net insert about 3 months ago.
Projector distance will be dictated by your projector and the specific “through” that it has. Mine is about 15’ back from the net. With the garage door opener dead center, the follow through of the swing will be left or right of it depending on if the player is lefty or righty
Thank you for the video. I am thinking about purchasing one. I see that the side net has nothing holding it down. If you shank a ball will it actually help catch it?
The bottom of both the side nets and the main net have heavy inserts to help keep them in place and the net taught. I’ve had a couple students hit shanks on mine...I was happy the side nets were there; had a lefty almost take out my washer machine!
I'm worried the side part don't come out fat enough, especially if using say a driver... also what's it like for flop shots... is it a case you an stand closer to this product and not worry about bounceback ?
Can I ask what you do with the mats when your wife’s car pulls in? Do you just drive over the mat, or store them somehow? I live in MA, so I will also track in mud and snow if I just let it stay there.
i am sure he/she drives over the mats. I have a similar set-up. my tires go over mat, but don't rest there when parked - mat sits in between front and back when parked
Hi @Ben Schroeder, thanks for your question. I’m using and Epson Pro EX9220 projector. It works well however there are plenty of good options out there. When looking for a projector for sim-golf, be sure to know exactly how far the projector can, or will, be mounted from the screen so you know if you need a “short through” or not. Regarding the ceiling, the screen is approximately 8’ tall and the overhang is a couple feet. I’d recommend putting your hitting mat as close to the screen as you can with being able to swing safely. This should hopefully keep any shots from hitting your ceiling. Good luck my friend!
Awesome space saver...however, I am sorry, there is no way your ceiling is 8ft. I'm 5' 9" and have 8 foot ceilings upstairs in my house and cant even swing a full sand wedge without hitting the ceiling. However, downstairs in my dining room I can full swing any club with 9ft ceilings, but still not a driver.
Yes sir, 8’3” is my ceiling height in my garage. I’m 5’7”, can swing to about 8 iron somewhat comfortably, anything longer has made some marks on my ceiling.
@@Latebloomergolf just curious but do you have personal insecurities that would lead you to posting a comment like that? 🤣🤣 Bruh... just Google it.. if you have a flatter swing, you might get away with it at 8ft, but at minimum you'll need 8.5-9ft.
Hello @Adam Alday, thank you for the question. Deflections aren’t bad in my set up cause the screen isn’t real taught. My garage ceiling is quite low so my screen bunches up a little at the bottom, so bounce back is minimal. If wall mounting, you should try to get at least 18” from the wall. Play well!
It’s great. I’ve had/used several other nets and projectable impact screens, and the Homecourse has been as good or better than any of those. As far as durability, so far so good. I seen some divot spots from hitting shots repeatedly into the same location but nothing dramatic. My biggest issue was letting my kids do soft toss and tee work with dirty baseballs which left a few marks on it. Now I use clean/new baseballs and with no issues.
Not an archery net, but I have talked to the HomeCourse designers about that, love the archery sim my friend has in his house. I think it’s very durable considering how many shots mine takes every month

Here in England we tend to have smaller garages, this facility looks ideal, thank you fot the information 👍
Nice thanks for putting this up!
Awesome…… I love your work my friend….
Thank you!
Nice screen. What projector do you have? I am thinking of doing one in my garage. thanks.

Does this work for outside somehow? Many thanks

Hi, Tim is actually about 5'7". He only uses irons. Can use a driver with his setup
I have mine mounted to the ceiling, but I know it can be mounted to the wall. I think HomeCourse recommends 18” from the wall.

How far is the projector from the screen. Also, how did you garage door opener not get in the way?

cool. i probably need one of this in my house
No offense but how tall are you? I have 9ft garage ceilings but I am 6'2"..not sure I could swing all my clubs.
thanks
My brother is 6’3” and can swing driver in mr 9’ ceilings

Could you please let me know where to buy home course net ? My email is charleshuwho@me.com. Thanks

@@johnnyle8821 I’m using an Epson
Over a year later? How did it hold up? Do you still use it, like it? Any changes?
Held up well, I recently changed out the net insert for a new one, but I use mine for teaching so it gets pounded on. At least 15,000 shots per month
I'm worried the side part don't come out fat enough, especially if using say a driver... also what's it like for flop shots... is it a case you an stand closer to this product and not worry about bounceback ?
How far away are you standing from the screen?
About 7 feet away

How wide is that? Website says it’s 10 feet yours doesn’t look 10 feet
The latest version is 14ft wide when both sides are extended. The version in this video is the old version
Which projector are you using? How tall is it with the overhang, just trying to prevent people from hitting balls into the ceiling!

A year or so later, how do you like it? Still holding up?
Can you hit driver?
The screen can handle driver shots. In the video, the ceiling is too low for driver.
Are the bottom of the screens weighted?
Yes there are weights. Held on with strong Velcro so you can adjust.
How much?
how much ceiling clearance do you need when hitting a driver? I am 5 foot 11.
im 6'1" and i need about 9 feet to feel comfortable
At 5’11” I think you’ll need 10 feet at least.

Your swing must be terrible if you hit the ceiling with a sandwedge. LMFAO

Natedog402 hi. You just let it hang.
Did you build it yourself?if so how?

That is $2,300. Might as well just buy some $30 painters tarps and hang them from the ceiling.
That’s an option for sure, mine goes away with a button though….
