    2 things:
    a) You may translate this structure loosely as : "Take the object and do what with/to it"
    b) The "t" in soften is silent! :) :)
    c) third bonus thing--thanks for all the great videos!

    When someone is asking a question like what happened to the milk, I don't fully get why 把 must be used in reply. If I just reply with "不好意思, 我喝玩了", is that improper? less polite? I know I could say "不好意思, 我把牛奶喝完了" but is it not more common just to respond without using 把? thank you! Been watching your videos daily and sharing with my friends who also want to improve.

    • @MandarinWithMissLin
      @MandarinWithMissLin  2 года назад +1

      By saying 我喝完了, you omit 「把牛奶」喝完了:) In this context is clear so it’s of course correct.

    Why do you use 了 in the sentence Ba yao chi le? Why not Ba yao chi wan? Or Ba yao chi o? I'm watching this video over and over and have made flash cards out of the sentences for practice, but this sentence confuses me!

    • @poyiwu5473
      @poyiwu5473 3 года назад +2

      both le or wan it’s ok, but there’s a very slight difference.
      1. “wan” is more focus on 100% done, nothing left
      “Ba yao chi wan” => finished all medicine, no any pill left.
      “Ba fan chi wan” => finished the whole bowl of rice.
      2. “le” more focus on something “had done”
      “Ba yao chi le” => had taken medicine.
      “Ba fan chi le” => had eaten the rice
