You should record more Porter videos. I just started flying the payware PC-6 Porter add-on in Flight Simulator and really enjoy it. Such a unique plane.
Very impressive! Perhaps now would be a good time to do a weight and balance adjustment toward the 'old' side of the pilot vs. the 'bold' side however? Way too many years ago at Ft. Bragg I had the good fortune to jump out of a few Porters that didn't have any tail numbers piloted by the kinds of government employe... errr, I mean completely private citizens who fly airplanes without tail numbers, but EVERY once in a while, the plane, although amazing, CAN break... Stay safe!
Thanks for this video! I see you have the condition lever to low idle when landing. This is not POH as far as I know. Can you tell me why you do it like that?
My QRH for the B2H4 says that for approach : Propeller Control Lever & Idle Control Lever AS REQUIRED It's also to reduce noise emission during the approach and landing
That’s just crazy. I wanted to ask you, what advice would you give someone who is fresh out of school, ATPL frozen? It’s hard nowadays to find anything. I have been looking also in skydiving companies and aerial works but I don’t have a clue. How did you start flying the PC-6?? And amazing approach, when I used to fly the small PA28 I loved to do gliding short approaches...
Yes it's a very difficult period for young pilots... and it was already not easy to find a first job before the Covid. For my part I was able to start flying on PC6 because I was hanging around a lot on my airfield, flying on Beech 58. Because of seeing you people start to know you, and what a paraclub is looking for (my point of view) is a simple guy, safe and who will take care of their machine and its skydivers. As far as the current situation is concerned, I would rather advise you to target business aviation, because the aerial is going badly certainly, the Covid hurts everyone, but not for the rich who are even richer (again, my point of view). But keep going my friend, it's a nice license you have now !
@@reunion974jb Thank you a lot for the reply Jean. Yes, we are going through tough times but eventually we will move on. I’ll keep looking for anything I can find. I am an Iberia Cadet (Spain’s flag carrier) but since they are not expecting to hire pilots in the next few years, right now we have to take our on way. Thanks again Jean, aviation community is one of the things I love the most about flying and if sometime you need a pilot at Reunion Island you know where to find me!! Keep posting your flights!!
You have to lift the gate to engage beta at Fl140!Typicall to H4 Beta regulation! I think that you miss a lot the old H2 especially at 2200Rpm! 😂😂 Have a nice flights!
Your descent with the PC6 looks like more fun, than the jump with parachute 😂
Haha! Not gunna lie, it does look like fun, but no, definitely not more fun than jumping out! 😁
Dang, that steep of an approach reminds me of how the Space Shuttle landed! I've yet to jump out of a Porter, but always looking forward to it!
Pilatus Porter,
Power, Performance, Perfection.
Now that’s a short final 😍
