Farmer has to be the most demanding career on earth... and one of the most critical to our survival... farmers have to be mechanics, doctors, nurses, scientists, accountants, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, teachers, meteorologists and on and on... in addition, they have to know how to operate very large and dangerous equipment... at the same time, they have to have enormous patience (i.e. weather conditions) and, above all, a wonderful sense of humour... and none of this is possible without an enduring love of God... you won't find many atheists down on the farm... God bless you and thank you for bringing me these informative and interesting lessons... cheers!
@@norm-nas She could be stopping the camera, asking Grant to step in then he gets the bolt loose then they switch then she finishes up on camera and if they are great editors then it looks great. That is one way to do it but not the only way.
Thank you! Who knew that the process of grain removal could be so informaative as well as entertaining? I've been following your " Life on the Farm" for several years now. Love it. Stay safe and keep the vids coming......😍
I look forward to every Laura Farms video. You two make the hard work of farming look so pleasant. Doing that is not easy! Quite the Genius if you ask me....
I wonder if you'll get 17 years out of the new Gear Box. Thank you, for all the Videos on Farming and Farm life and how important what you and Grant do is. Laura ,your a great Teacher.
Grant don’t forget to get Laura a super awesome Valentines. Day gift. I can’t speak for all of your RUclips viewership . But if you do a lot of us will kick your butt. Happy Valentine day to the both of you
I love your videos! I stop whatever I'm doing and sit down to watch. Can't wait to see the planting madness start again. Happy Valentines to both you and Grant. It's so nice to see people in love. 💕
Love seeing y’all growing leaps and bounds and gaining more knowledge to where you can fix and repair all of your own equipment depending less on others. Y’all are doing great. 👏👍🙏😎✌️
That was so cute! I find myself watching some of these videos and thinking to myself “This is probably something I will not find interesting or even slightly understand.” But then, those beautiful green eyes have me hanging on every word, and totally enjoying the explanation of something that I would never have thought I’d not only find interesting, but even wanting more! 😂 You guys make any task seem like a fun couple’s project ❤️ love you! Grammy
Happy Valentines Day Laura and Grant. I really love how Laura is able to explain everything to us in a way for those of us who have never seen this before can easily understand. I love how Laura is always knee deep in all of the maintenance and operations of all aspects of the farm. I never knew how complex the silo systems are and just how huge they are. Thank you, Laura and Grant, for showing us another new and awesome piece of machinery.
Happy Valentines day Laura and Grant. It is always something with something that moves. If that gearbox lasted seventeen years it doesn't owe you anything!
Thanks for sharing the information with us!! Awesome job on this piece of work!! Good to get it all ready for the next season!! Never seen that before , but I am sure glad that you both shared it with us!! C ya on the next video ! 👍🐺🧙♂️🦊👍
Very interesting to see the internal workings of a corn/grain silo. Replacing the gearbox reminded me of my days as a mechanic. The worm gear could be a very dangerous piece of equipment if not handled with care. Thanks for the video and Happy Valentine’s Day to the both of you.
Right outta hs I worked for a contractor who was pushing small grain bin houses as an economical alternative to stick-built homes. He built a model home next to the shop. Was it pretty nice? Yup. Did anybody buy them? Nope. Them houses done bin canned. Happy Valentine's Day Laura & Grant!
Laura, you are just outstanding. I am retired now but sold farm equipment and grain handling systems for many years. We used a company called Sukup from Iowa for many of our projects. Are they still around ?
FYI Be very careful using incandescent light fixtures in the bins, if the bulb breaks could cause fire! I’d recommend led not as big of fire hazard!😉👍👌
Happy Valentine's Day from Beth and I you guys do work so well together that was cool there's a pigeon in your grain bin he'll never go hungry as long as he's in there blessings from Martinsville Indiana
I was wondering when you were going to dump the corn out of your boots. 😁 I used to live on a farm so I know a few things. My dad rented a small house from the farm family that lived there. We didn't farm but the farm owners were happy to answer questions plus when I was a kid My dad said to help their kids so I had to help with some of the cleanup so I saw the inside of those silos and stuff. My dad was U.S. Airforce. Sr. Chief Master Sgt. When he retired that was one grade down from the Pentagon by the time he retired and before they added the latest NCO rank. Like a Major General but for NCO's.
Laura & Grant Team Work Makes The Dream Work!!! Good Job Guys! Laura I thought your weren't putting the anti-seize wrong, because you didn't have any on yourself! Your not doing it right unless its getting all over!!! LOL!!!
I have always felt that the Grain Bin Site is a Tornado target! Just wanted to check out what the Farming Fox is doing today! Good choice to buy a new sweep motor.

Laura you will have that all fixed up and running in no time at all

Grant and the worlds prettiest mechanic in training!
Lucky husband!
Great video!
With all your tools invest in 2 sets of ratcheting open ends 1 set standard & 1 metric
Happy valentines day to you all
That's an even better place for a date than the tractor at the coffee drive through!
Happy Valentine's Day 💐
I miss your cute little piercing.
I have swept a lot of bins at the Elevator I work at. You should check out DAAY paddle style sweeps. Much safer and less ground up grain!
