I love her can-do attitude, her smile, and the fact that she's genuine. What a refreshing change from the drama kings and queens.
i agree with ya on her attitude and yes :-) love her smiles too. she never gives up and tries hard in doing her part. farming is lots of headaches and plenty of stress and laura handles it well. when she gets emotional over the stress i feel for her i've been there. behind you a 100% laura and love your videos i watch them lot of times back to back
Your daddy can be proud he raised a proficient child. Grant has to be very happy too. Not everyone would put themselves learning a new skills like driving a semi on Camera for the whole world to critique.
She will also be proud that she can complete all the work on the farm.
I see the truck has a Detroit for a motor. Detroits like their RPMs to have power. If you up shift around 1800 and down shift about 1300, you’ll always be in the correct rpm range. Running down the road, you should be between 1500 and 1600 rpms to maintain fuel economy and power. Good luck and stay safe on the roads!
supercute girl, with gorgeous eyes, driving a BIG truck, dreaming of even bigger trucks.....i honestly think that will never get boring to see 😁
You have got to be the cutest little grain hauler I have ever seen.
As a retired career trucker up here in Western Canada 🇨🇦 I am super impressed with your driving ability and how you caught on so quickly. The next level is to reverse without looking through the window behind you, that’s cheating lol. Master the art of backing up using your mirrors, cause if you get that dream rig chances are it won’t have a window.
Exactly what I was going to say. 👍🏻
they have remote back up cameras
in todays world where WOMEN are being pushed aside by woke trans Laura is a breath of fresh air I dare to say she is a roll model for many young girls
your right the best thing she can do is blacken out the back window so she has to learn the mirrors
she was supposed to shoot this video in a bikini
Seeing you wrestle with the semi's hood was funny and cute. You're getting the hang of it driving a semi. You're doing a great job!
She does not give up easy! I could watch that struggle all day ;)
Gotta say, you always make me smile. Keep on truckin".
I would love to see you and Grant do a segment with Mike Rowe. You and Grant are perfect examples of success do to work ethic and dedication to an industry. Great examples for people; young and old. I made the same suggestion to Mike Rowe. Think about it.
Lots of respect. I am amazed what you (and Grant) accomplished in such a short time. Even your own semi. Wow.
RUclips and family money. They are the exception.
I’ve been driving trucks for 43yrs now & I must say I’m impressed with how well you’re handling that old beast considering the limited experience you’ve had.
Well done Laura.
Laura, it's always nice to watch your videos and share your adventures.
Such a diligent and hard worker.
Laura, You are not only living the dream, You are the dream.....Never give up. Your killing it!!!!
There's a group of commenters just below me who should be applauding a 3-year farmer rather than trying to tear her down!!! Lara, don't pay any attention to them, they are just jealous. You keep doing what you're doing, and I will always watch and learn along with you.
Sitting here at 70 years old and retired from a career as a machinist....watching you and your enthusiasm for what you enjoy. Wish I had met a woman like you when I was younger....oh well....love ya, Laura....Grant is a lucky man.
Ewww relax old man that's creepy
@@MrAnderson5157 Kids these days.. Smh..
@@R420ISH Unsure, are you also a creepy old man triggered? Please clarify. TY.
@@MrAnderson5157 Joe Biden supporter i guess?
@@R420ISH He could be. Same deviant mentality for certain.
Definitely not getting bored with your uploads. Absolutely love watching how farms work and all the ins and outs of the daily duties. Love this content. God bless.
Me too, watching her work on the farm is when I feel at ease.
... I caught myself leaning into each one of your attempts to lift the hood.... nearly fell out of my seat "trying to help". Love your stuff!
her attitude, outlook, personality and even keeled nature is extremely infectious and somewhat intoxicating!man laura is all that and then some, one of the hottest grounded females on the internet in todays times,im sure i speak for all of us when i say laura we love you
You look like a natural in the truck.
Also very cool when you unloaded the grain and you were able to see how much the the trailer rose up
Always fun watching Laura work. She’s a natural at these videos, and it doesn’t hurt that she is very easy on the eyes. ❤️🦅♥️✝️🇺🇸😊
What a creep, 😆
Hot !
Great video Laura, the more you drive the easier it becomes. I could watch you all day, especially when I get to see those eyes. Hoping the remainder of your hauling is uneventful, and planting goes great.
Yes, the eyes, WOW.
@@larrydettmer8916 Hypnotizing.
@@larrydettmer8916 And her personality!
😂 bunch of weirdos my lord
@@anomanderrake440 Yup had to ruin their comment, can't keep it about the farming and video. LAURA is MARRIED. Come on people stop being creeps.
Hi Laura! Just a little hint, when you're going up in gears, let the revs calm down, when you have to downshift, get the revs up. Hope that helps. Love your and Grant's vids.
Your videos are never boring. I only wish they were longer lol. You cracked me up with your "if you can't find 'em, grind 'em" line. Looking forward to the planting videos. Love you guys.
If only the world had more people like you. We are in desperate need of just down home. Awesome people.
That's why you check coolant before use. When the engine cools off, the engine and cooling system shrinks a little, which can cause slight leakage. If it's leaking when hot, that is usually worse.
What a lady, talented and beautiful.
Well, you already know that we are all amazed at everything you learn and do on your farm…but, let me just say…I get stressed and terrified sometimes just trying to drive in and out of my own garage! 😮I would be honored to ride along with you sometime to empty the corn 🌽
You are so good at everything you even attempt! Nice job, little Farmer! Love ❤️ you, Grammy 😀
I think we would like to see Laura take Grammy for a stroll to the ethanol plant. 👋🤠
Ya Laura a couple things. Cold leaks are not uncommon. When the engine cools and shrinks it might cause a small leak. If you can locate it you might be able to tighten it enough to stop it. Good eye on catching that one. On your shift the RPM will change 300 - 500 RPM up or down depending on the gearing of the truck. So you are on the right track there too. The backing thing can be as hard as you want to make it. If you watch the mirrors and put your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel just move your hand to the side you want to turn to. The biggest no no is to turn to much to fast, but I think you have the basics going for you.
Have a good season.
Congratulation, Laura, that truck is not easy to drive. The gear change takes some getting use to.
Never boring watching you, Laura.
Love from Mike. ❤
Laura you and your green eyes are a breath of fresh air, I am a super trucker with over 4 million miles under my belt, blackout your back window and rely on your mirrors, make sure that you always have spot mirrors on your doors and your hood. I also have 3 weeks vacation each year so if you need to help during harvest feel free to reach out. I do not need to be on camera although I do have blonde hair and green eyes as well.
You are so adorable! I loved seeing the trailer rising as it was unloaded in time lapse! Also, it is very refreshing to hear a young lady talking about her weight. You don't look a pound over 79,000. 🚚😊
That is pretty funny right there! I'm thinking about 79,995! This girl runs on efficiency! 🤠👍
We hope you all are doing fantastic, from our channel to yours!❤❤❤
Love it, new subscriber. I’m a veteran, trucker and a senior citizen so I love seeing young people with such awesome ethics. Awesome choice of a dream truck. Keep on Trucking and God bless us all.
Dreaming is the fabric that makes things happen . Keep pushing to 500,000.
You don't need to ask to like. Everybody likes you and grand . The all American couple .
Oh yeah if you are having issues driving after stopping on a steep hill and have a heavy load use a wheel chock chained and clipped to the rear of the trailer. This will allow you to engage the clutch and get moving without stalling or rolling backwards. Once you get moving the wheel chock will follow you. Get to the top and disconnect the wheel chock from trailer and be on your way. But then again Nebraska ain't known for 6%grades.
You are still my favorite female farmer in the world. I love seeing you drive that semi. You are really special at everything that you do. You are the best female farmer in the world.
I'm so proud of you!! Driving a standard. And speed shifting as well!! There are alot of men that can't do that!! From one lady trucker of 52 yrs stay with it and be proud!! Start learning to use your mirrors, it's so much easier. God bless you!! Be safe!!
Great video. You need to dump the air bags on the truck and trailer when unloading. When you dump a load that fast, the leveling valves can keep up. It can blow out your airbags. Your doing a great job 👏 👍
It is very nice for me to see that there are girls like you who love farming.I'm not from the USA, I'm from Europe, more precisely from Serbia, my parents are also engaged in agriculture and I plan to continue that family business.Well done for all the work and effort you put into your farm and this YT channel.
You should ace the CDL test soon enough, get your CDL so your not limited, good job Laura, get it and smash it!
Don't ya' just love her "goodbye"!! huge ol' smile!
Nice to see a young lady that willing to work hard and learn new thing, you are doing very well driving.
Great job in all your doing!! And if I may say Grant is one lucky Bastard! You all are great
Laura, most of us do not have a clue about farming and where our food comes from, so it is so cool that you are doing these videos. Keep it going.
Alex
My yrs of trucking and 14 yrs of owner operator cold water leaks are natures till it warms up. You both are awesome as being new farmers.
Never get bored watching you guys! You are a monumental inspiration to girls and women everywhere! All the best!
That was very interesting and well produced, at least for me, as I am a soon to be retired CDL driver who is looking at maybe beginning some harvest time corn and bean hauling for fun and profit and you definitely gave us a great intro. Thanks and best of everything to you both. Cheers.
Ok Laura . Now I’m gonna give you a little schoolin on how you can use that hand brake valve that goes to the trailer. When you’re on a hill loaded or empty and you have to takeoff and you’re stopped with your foot on the brake pull the hand brake valve on that will only set your trailer breaks push in the clutch put it in low gear now take your foot and put it on the throttle it won’t go any ware until you release that hand valve . Now let the cutch out slow until you hear the motor just start to pull down keep your right foot on the throttle now start releasing the hand valve and at the same time a little more clutch release and just a hair of more throttle you should be rolling forward by now hand valve fully released clutch all the way out foot on the throttle congratulations you just passed the starting on a incline test . Hope this helps . You can also practice this procedure on flat ground loaded or empty, it works every time and it will keep you from breaking a drive line . 😊
Very impressed, I see her as the All American Girl! Or woman. A special young lady.
Such a great channel…just love watching you do what you do. Makes me nostalgic for the farms in Saskatchewan where I spent many years. Farmers life a great life in spite of the ups and downs..a true adventure.
Lots of respect and wonderful job driving that rig!! Just a little advice as you’re getting comfortable with it. When backing up try to use your mirrors only, position them so you can see the whole rig even turned. If you don’t have spot mirrors, grab some, they’re cheap. Don’t form a bad habit of looking out the back window. In the down season, take her out in an open solid field empty and practice backing up. Both blind side and driver side. But awesome job!!!!!
Laura, the easiest way to open the hood on semi trucks is to stand beside the front tire, either side, and push it up. You can let it fall completely open, it won't hurt anything. When closing that hood, it's ok to lift it from the front and let it fall closed. It is safer for you to do what I described than staining & struggling to open/close from the front. That's how I opened/closed truck hoods for 28 years/3 million safe miles in trucking. Love your channel. Hello to Grant.
Congratulations for making the top 10 farming youtube channels.
Brave, genuine and beautiful. Laura rules. Love from the Netherlands (Europe).
Also, Ms Laura, the "Johnyy Bar" (trailer brake control) is not for parking. If trailer brakes are set, the handle won't make any difference any way, becase the brakes set when the red knob is out. Also, old timer tip: when slowing down, use the trailer brakes, with the Johnny bar. Easier to get under the trailer to adjust brakes, if you don't have auto adjusters, than get under the tractor, and crawl around the differentials. Jake brake sounds cooler with straight pipes, but sure is noisy when just cruising. Does save just a bit of fuel, though
You are a very good trucker. You can drive every piece of equipment on the farm. Wow
❤kid had the same rig but tri-axle loaded pulling Shift her 18 hun it will always go right in I am a jaker so easy on me as well great job grant as well give Scottie a little hug peace
Your doing an excellent job driving that truck for you first time.
May God Bless you!
Laura! Great video as ever. Being farm born & bred here in the UK, it's always interesting to see the differences & also the similarities between our country's farming methods. Keep up the good work! ❤
Great video Laura keep it up 👍🏻the more you drive the truck the better you’ll get, keep it up 😀🇬🇧
Doing good Dear, one hint from an old trucker,,, when shifting into gear at a dead stop, slip the. Clutch a tiny bit to "move" the gears in the trans a bit so they'll mesh and it'll slip into gear. Saves a bit of wear on the shift forks inside the trans.
Another awesome video Laura! I'm enjoying the truck driving videos so keep'em coming!
Check those lug nuts on the front axle. Those rust streaks are a sign!
Great point! Nice catch
Sign of what?
@Daniel Ziegner the rust streak is a sign that the lug nut may be loose.
I look forward to each one of your videos, you do an awesome job of narrating everything that you and Grant do. it is amazing at the accomplishments the two of you have made in such a short time. You are to be commended for a job well done. My hat is off to you!!
Thank you for answering the Ag exemption question! I thought that was the case. Now I just gotta get you to come around on those Peterbilts … Kenworth is where it’s at 😅
Good to see you back in the truck, and getting more familiar with it. Great job Laura.
Laura it's always so fun to watch I appreciate you taking the time to film It for us. It seems like nothing is too hard for you you just get in and do it. You have to be proud of that, Please stay safe take cand until the next time.
What a great video! You obviously know what you’re doing but you also aren’t afraid to get better by acknowledging and learning from mistakes. Stick with it! Good luck.
The "Farmer" exemption for CDL is almost every state - and definitely all the major farming states. The only times it gets sticky is crossing state lines like southern WI to Debuke, IA grain elevator, but most of those states also have exemptions for those circumstances.
No one will get bored with Laura Farms.
I noticed that you are getting much smoother on your shifts. It just takes a little time. Just like drivers ed in school, you become better at it with practice!!
See a Large Semi approaching with the driver just peeking over the steering wheel. Get out'ta the way, Laura's coming through. Lots to do on a farm.
I love you and Grant Laura! A fantastic team of two young agriculturists enjoying their livelihood together!
I'm happy that you mentioned that your new experiences are just adventures in life as there will always be many, many adventures in everyone's life that builds character! Thanks for sharing your adventures.
7:48 the simplest way to explain shifting, assuming your running a 10 speed transmission is to shift by the numbers. What I mean by that is, for example, 15 mph, 1+5=6, so at 15mph, you should be entering 6th gear and so on. The best way to learn rpm control, what they teach in most schools and on the cdl test is to keep the rpms between 1000 and 1500. So run the truck up to 1500 and go into neutral, then allow the rpms to fall to 1000, then shift into the next highest gear. (Every truck is different and they all have a unique sweet spot they like to shift in and out at.)
Down shifting is the reverse of this, allow your rpms to drop to 1000, then go to neutral, blip the throttle to push it up to 1500, then go for the next lowest gear.
Hope this helps!! Also, even though your not required to have a cdl you may still want to aquire a cdl manual from the state of Nebraska as there's a lot of useful info in it that can help you out and keep you out of trouble!
Your doing awesome Laura, happy to share the highways and byways with ya!
Use your mirrors when you back up, my dad drove trailers for 40 years, if ever caught you looking out the back window he would give you a punch on the shoulder hahaha
Great videos Laura, I just started watching you not long ago. You and Grant are the perfect couple, you share the work load which is awesome. Super impressed with your ability to operate all the equipment and work on it as well. Keep the great videos coming. Thank you for sharing them. Bless you both for letting those of us who have never farmed learn what it's all about.
Very impressed! I noticed your Peterbilt was smoking a bit of white smoke. That means you got a coolant leak and that red stuff, that was coolant. Might wanna get that checked out.
i always wondered about the CDL and your last vid caused me to google the rules with farmers.
also super smart picking a truck friendly route to the plant.
truck vlogs actually are not bad at all, only downside being no auto steer😂
you really are beginning to enjoy the trucking side of farming
AG exempt!
Laura I am not a farmer but you made me proud! Laura done all grown upzies!!!!!!
Great Job!!!!!!!
I love seeing our local farmers being profitable, I live in Nebraska and love it that farmers are staying the times. Thsnks Laura for sharing your videos.
How do you not Fall in Love with this Girl!❤
Great job and I enjoy your videos because I am learning what farming is about. Thanks.
Your doing a great job. It's always nice to start out the day with a loaded truck. Allows you to get a early jump on other truckers or farmers especially if there is lots of trucks hauling.
The impressed meter was going down. But, this one made a comeback. Laura, you stick to it. Got to love that. This subscriber not going anywhere. lol Thanks for the adventures.
Great job. It’s great to see you have a young hire like Gauge. I was fortunate to start young on the family farm ...great work experience.
Your doing a wonderful job at driving that truck. Very impressed. Ive been driving 18 wheeler for 20+ yrs. Good job.
Grew up in a rural small community in MN. I was a city boy. It’s fun learning and seeing all the aspects of what it takes to be a farmer. Thank you Laura. Really enjoy the simplicity of the channel. Don’t change a thing.
Very impressed Laura, you are coming along just fine and what you and Grant are doing together is what life is all about. Great channel and great content. In the video of where you two drove to bring the semi back and Grant was freezing, I expected to see Grant doing most of the trucking on the farm....... You are a go-getter..... 👍
My brother had two of the same kind of pivots on his farm! By the time you finish hauling All that corn you're going to be a pro! Y'all stay safe!
I'm so envious of your trucking experience. Always wanted to be an OTR trucker but life took a turn to the military for a career, which was a great life too.
So great to see you handle that big rig, I was a truckdriver in Europe for almost 20 years just like my Dad did and I found it a great but often a hard job. Keep on trucking and do your job girl !!!
My wife and I started watching your videos last month, great job and great to see a young couple be such an important part of farming industry.
Great video as usual. All your hard work is appreciated.
Thanks to you and all the farmers for feeding us. Farmers are the real heroes🫡.
And also could not resist saying this .. your eyes are so beautiful😍
A great video love seeing you drive the truck, there's nothing you can't do!!
I am relatively new to your channel and am impressed with how you and Grant have tackled, and learned, the multitude of tasks and challenges involved with modern farming practices. I am not a farmer, but watching your videos has given me a new and enlightened appreciation for what you do on a daily basis.
Loved The Video!!
So proud Of You Laura you Are Adapting Nicely To Each And New Task Before You!! Way To Be Flexible!! And Learn!!
Keep Smiling On!!
😀👍👊❤
As always impressive. I liked how during your first unload your Timelapse the height of the trailer significantly lifted showing how heavy the loads actually are. Great Job and another nice video
Glad to see you are driving the truck and no it’s not boring love to ride along with you and see your progress and hopefully he will get your dream truck sooner than you think just keep plugging away dreams come true
