I agree I ff7 blew me away with the music and 8 as this shows is just so nice and it hits hard.so many memories what does it I think relating to your own time in life❤
I literally have a SeeD tattoo within my shoulder sleeve piece. I was 17 when I played this, same age as Squall. This game means so much for me. Thank you for this.
Adulthood. Married. Children. Work. Finance. Stress. Fatigue. FFVIII brings back wonderful memories, keeps me stronger and hopefully I have the time to revisit this masterpiece again.
I'm good for a playthrough every couple of years. I still get that same feeling I did as a high school kid in 1999 when I played it for the first time. With the speed up feature it doesn't even take too long. Give it a go!
man...i cant believe how great Nobuo Uematsu's compositions were for the golden age of FFVII-X. I say with great confidence that his scores brought life into those games, and hearing his music brings all of us back to those times we first experienced our beloved characters' stories and the emotions that his music invoked
Oh boi, the childhood memories. I bought this game when i was 9 with my own savings. My little brother was furious because he wanted that i bought Tekken 1. He hated FF8 until the first encounter with Ifrit. 4000 hours later, it is the best game for us both ever played.
I love this game so much and specially the music. Music is so divine to me and I can't live without music. It's the only remedy for my deep depression. FF music is also legendary. Makes me want to cry sometimes.
I am a jaded old man, a misanthropic sonofabitch you could say, but this game and the soundtrack especially always have me on the verge of tears, it always reminded me of happier times long gone never to return. if i had but one wish come true in my life before it ends, it would be to see a proper remake of this game and to once again share the love i feel for it and those happier times with the world around me. in my youth i was squall, walled off from the world for fear of being hurt once again... now i am cid searching for my edea.
Stay strong and try to remember not everyone is bad, evil, or out to get us. There is good in the world, and good people as well, and letting them into our lives and hearts takes a courage that can paralyze even the strongest of men and women in their tracks. But the reward for finding friends and family and loved ones is the greatest prize we will ever earn. I’m sorry you were hurt before. Stay strong sir, and I wish you the most fulfilling and love-filled life ahead of you. Never give up on love and hold the ones you cherish close for we never truly know how much longer any of us has to do so 💙
This is the best game ever made as far as Im conserned. I remember playing it in the 90s. Its an epic tale where y truly care for the characters and the story.
FF8 music, in my opinion, was Nobuo Uematsu at his prime as composer. Absolutely love these nostalgia feelings from when I played it for the first time ~23 years ago.
I really liked FFVII, but FFVIII has a huge place in my heart. From the story to the characters. And the music, loved Fithos Lusec Wenos Vinosec. This was the first game once I got it, played it 5 hours straight. And of course, my first favorite love song.
I was 8 the first time I played ff8 and i remember well when my parents bought it to me. Its the cover that got me. I didnt know a lot of english but i managed to play with a soluce and since then, i play every year or so. I listen to the music every time i feel relaxed, sad, tired, stressed and happy too. When i gave birth to my daughter 8 years ago, i remember listening to ff8 music at the hospital. Right now im working qhile listening. My little girls listen to it when they need calm. This game is part of my life as well as ff9, ffx, ffx-2. I would like to have a tattoo one day of a chocobo and a moogle to represent all the games because i have no favorite caracter. Im happy to see everyone who feel the same here
Squall gets too much hated when his character needed a lot of empathy lol. As an adult, you can look at his past of being orphaned, barely raised, and then thrown into a beautiful yet cutthroat world of military and combat. Never having a real moment of happiness or love until the end of the story. Of course someone like that is going to be a salty teenager
@@midnitemomo It just dawned on me like 25 years later that Cid is pretty reprehensible. He militarized a bunch of kids orphaned from the Galbadian wars, then used GF that wiped their memories.
@@humantacos9800 yeah dude! It's actually really messed up what Cid put them through lol. Cid knew them as orphans too as Edea was his wife and the matron of the orphans
@@midnitemomo Yeah they started the orphanage while all those wars were going on, then Ultimecia came back through time after Squall beat her, and transferred her powers to Edea. So they decided to turn innocent kids into mercenaries to fight his wife in the future lol. Messed up.
I seriously never heard the first song, i'm not even kidding or bragging. Junctioning and cards made the game super easy, but i still found and find it fun.
I used to always rent my games because I figured that paying $30 - $50 for a game I can blow through in as little as 30 minutes and no more than around 6 hours was a stupid waste. Then one day I spotted this game on the shelves of Blockbuster, and wondered why it had four discs. It wasn't the first multi-disc game I had encountered, but it was the first that grabbed my attention. So I rented it. I was immediately blown away at how massive the game is, and how perfect it is for everything from the characters to the settings/world map to the music, and after that 5-day rental, I immediately went out and bought it. I've been a fan of the series ever since, and even went back and played all the ones that came before it to get caught up. The modern FF games really do suck though.
No puedo pensar en ningun otro juego, obra de arte, pelicula, serie, comic, manga, obra de teatro, no se, ninguna expresion artistica, que genere tanta nostalgia como la musica de este juego acompañada por imagenes del mismo.
I can't explain in words how much this game means to me. I always get emotional as I hear the opening to Balamb Garden. Thank you for this collection.
Same
Balamb Garden is still my alarm clock to this day for years.
Balamb garden will take me inside to the world of ff8
Same

My ultimate sleeping music.. I lost count how many times I fell asleep playing this game with this music still blaring from my crt tv
Balamb Garden, Breezy, and Fisherman's Horizon are some of Uematsu's best work during the PS1 era. Love this soundtrack.
I hate how Compression of Time isn't mentioned but yes the other three are really good.
In my opinion, it's the best soundtrack in all of Final Fantasy.

Sometimes I feel a deep sadness. There, there is those times.
OMG! The music of my childhood. Love it so much. Thanks for the upload🥰 keep working with this as my bgm😁
i like the way you present the gameplay with the soundtrack,, really miss those old days *hiks

Thanks for this! Work didn't seem so dull while playing this in the background. And I can take a quick break in between to see game clips.
Thank you for bringing this back, remember my old days :)
I love this game from the beginning to the end, i have the entire ost on my daily playlist, i play it when it was released on 1999 i love ot so much!
My favorite fantasy of all time!
Yes, just start your relaxation…with The Loser.
I was searching for soundtrack alongside with gameplay.
Thank you!
I adore this game. I hope 8, 9, and 10 all get the remake treatment with the same amount of love and care that's been going into the ff7 remake.
This would be great!😮

I Love this game.
The visuals are a great touch, best calm tracks of FfViii
The Ifrit fight was one of my favorite and after more than 20 years I still get emotional and got goosebumps...

Thank you. Music + gameplay. :)
I'd love to see a graphic remake... with the exact same content.
they upped the graphics on the ps4. its in the playstation store! its not more "realistic" per se, but its not pixely anymore
“You’re the best looking guy here.” No longer looks like a mutant troll.

VII and VIII are the peak of the FF series for me, the soundtracks will always be special.
Did you not like ff9? Those three are the core for me. The games and the soundtracks.
Thanks for this. Playlist for Valkyrie or Chrono Cross ost would be so good.
If they were to remake this game and get Faye Wong to come out of retirement and sing Eyes on me again, it will make any grown man jump for joy.

Most FF fans rank 8 low but it’s one of my favorites probably because, like Squall, I was a salty teenager when this came out.

lucky to have played this when it first came out. and im 43 now vii and viii will always be remembered. went downhill ix onwards
IX, X, and XII remain some of my top FFs, so gotta disagree there. But VII and VIII are def part of the golden age of Square.
