    Looks very nice. When did you start using conditioner on your locks? Do you use those products in the back on your Sisterlock’s

    • @ImaniGoodridge
      @ImaniGoodridge  5 лет назад +2

      Thank you! And I didn’t start conditioning my sisterlocks until they were fully locked/mature. Everyone’s locs lock at different rates so ask your consultant. I didn’t start deep conditioning until maybe 6-7 years into my journey. I’ve had my sisterlocks for 11 years. I also have a deep conditioning routine video on my channel if that interests you! It’ll answer any other related questions better than I can via comments. Also, the products in the back aren’t all hair products. That’s just storage lol. I don’t use any of the shampoos or conditioners that you see. Those are there for other people/family with loose natural hair who visit. Only really use the Jamaican Black Castor oil. I hope this helps!

    So did you mix the colors individually and apply one on top of the other or with the random strands you applied one color and the other strands the other color??

    • @ImaniGoodridge
      @ImaniGoodridge  3 года назад +3

      I has the two separate colors in two separate containers. I then applied them randomly to each section throughout my hair, alternating between the two. (One section, one color, the next, the other. Repeat.) 😊

    Question: would you suggest using aloe Vera juice on sisterlocks?

    • @ImaniGoodridge
      @ImaniGoodridge  5 лет назад

      Sue Odoom Hi! I’ve personally never used it but I know that aloe vera has many benefits for the hair. I’d say give it a try! Just make sure the residue gets out of your hair to refrain from undesired build up in your locs.

    • @gibel13
      @gibel13 5 лет назад +2

      Imani Goodridge Cool! I just figured since the sisterlocks products had it listed in the ingredients list, it couldn’t be all that bad. Thanks!

      @@gibel13 I've had my locs for 7 years and I use aloe Vera gel (from the plant not packaged) blended with a little oil and essential oils (and strained) as conditioner and my locs love it. Especially after I dyed them. I don't get any residue due to the straining

    Sister locks are gorgeous, but why do they seems like they are not locks, but more of soft hair. Can you explain

    • @aesinam
      @aesinam 4 года назад +3

      The locking method makes it so. They are supposed to look like that and that's why many people like them.

    • @lisettebrown8317

      Sisterlocs around microlocs as super small so they tend to look like small braids or twists and not locs.

    Can I ask, why you didn't dye your roots?

    • @ImaniGoodridge
      @ImaniGoodridge  4 года назад +2

      I wanted to keep an ombré-like look. I wouldn't want all of my hair this color. Just a personal preference :)

    Hi Imani, can you dye sisterlocks if they aren't fully locked? I've had mine for 6 months.

    • @ImaniGoodridge
      @ImaniGoodridge  5 лет назад +1

      Hi! Thanks for your question. I'm not a certified sisterlocks consultant so take my advice on this topic with a grain of salt. I'd suggest not dyeing your starter locks until at least 8-9 months after they've been installed. This way, your locs are mature enough to the point where they shouldn't unravel as much due to the constant rinsing of the dye out of your hair. I hope this helps!
