Absolutely Bobby is at the top of the food chain with his backside attack. Its Extra Extraordinary Occy and Bobby are my favorite from a fellow Goofy Foots perspective.
Hey of you want good slabs go to the west coast of south australia 👍 there’s a spot near venus bay which is like backdoor pipe and streaky bay has a world class left point and a couple of heavy slabs! enjoy australia mate
couple ibuprofen and a little rest to get the inflammation down. then ya gotta stay more consistent with the core body exercises(crunches & twists) - especially when traveling long distances because you end up sitting still too long in an airplane seat. get up and move around, do some twists, 3/4 angle standing leg lifts - every 2-3 hours if you're in an upright seat. lay-flat airplane seats are the only time its ok to not get up and move around every 2-3 hours. thanks for all the great vids!! =]
Hi Koa, i also have lower backpain a lot, from a couple of Disk Colapses, i had throuh out the years (Age 35). what helps me is just resting for some days with a lean diet (Meat and Vegies).
Probably bulged disc L4L5. It's what I got. The chiropractor keeps me in the water . Pinching the sciatic nerve is so painful. I bulged mine diving off kipu falls on kauai at 17. Scorpionaction. I'm 55 now , thank god for chiropractos. .
Just met you in person at Lowe’s in Waikele bro. Keep up the great content !!!! Praying for a speedy recovery on your foot/ankle 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 surf on !!!! God bless !!!!
West Oz Midwest islands off Geraldton ,West wallabi island an little pigpen (were mutiny off the Batavia ship was) drops from 2ft on right hand point to shelf 80-90 fathoms . Perfect waves with no body about..🇦🇺💪✌️🤘
Koa start doing Hatha Yoga 5 -7 days a week. It's a life changer, along with breath of fire. I had some serious injuries in my early 20s and could barely stand for more than 20 minutes without intense pain, now 53 and mostly pain free.
I've had a nerve impingement from sitting at a desk too much. I found there's some stretches for your glutes for that. It definitely works! although you gotta keep at it. Yoga makes sense too - lots of stretching and increased flexibility
koa you gotta come down to sa. last year when you where in fiji you left the day before we got there and i was looking around everywhere out at all the surf spot so to see you down here in sa would be sick
The worst feeling for a lifelong surfer is when they can no longer do it...the best rides will always be ingrained in your memory though , crystal clear, something millions of people will never experience in their lifetime
Monday the 24th coming looks good for the right down south in west oz. Northerly winds and close to a 4m swell. This time of year we get lots of big swells down there and the odd northerly which is offshore. Not sure if you're keen to surf backside at one of the worlds craziest rights, but you did ask for suggestions and i believe this is a good one considering you are in Australia and the Right is pumping in winter/ now 🤘i commented before the end, just watched until the end now. Hmmm probably not a good idea if you're back is sore to surf the right.
Hmm....lower back issue may simply be all the travel and what tends to happen with extensive travel---dont train as consistently and the diet isnt always on point. Plus all the sitting in planes and autos. I would consider getting an MRI done if you can, just to make sure it is just muscle fatigue. A good chiropractor can use TENS/EMS to help your muscles heal faster and a necessary adustment that may help. A good trainer can do some of that too. After that, you may need to incorporate back strengthening exercises regularly for awhile to get it strong again. Supermans, Raising your arms and legs off the ground while on your stomach--lower back flexion, and making sure when you stand -- you tilt your pelvis forward--keeping it in alignment, not letting it arch back. Yea, I had some back issues for awhile--the above items remedied them. I remain mindful. Hope you heal up. A bad back can keep you out of the water for a couple of weeks, and that is a serious bummer on a surf trip.
Bobby Rincon always lights it up!!! Traveling bro... gotta ice, move slow 🐌.. stretch, stretch, stretch. Heat and massage before paddling out and maybe a hot tub.
Bro. Try NMN supplements. I have had 3 slipped and two ruptured lower discs for years. Only thing that allows me to surf day after day when the waves are firing. And so good to see the Bobby turns!
Soooo psyched to see Bobby Martinez in this vid. Legend!!! Edit: Rad how he sprays the guy so close on his first wave: "Don't paddle out in the way, meat!"
I just screwed up my lower back too. It's probably from traveling. Flying and driving. I had done about 40+ hours in a week. Got home, felt a tiny twinge and the next day I was miserable. I couldn't even sit in a chair. I hope it doesn't happen to you but 800mgs of advil will help and you have to rest it. I coudln't do anything for 3 days . Lie on the hard ground or yoga mat, massage it and hopefully you will be good in 3-5 days. I was able to go for a run (with pain every time my foot would land) but it was manageable and then it got better each day. Core strength and yoga will help prevent these tweaks in the future. peace and love bru
Oh no! Not the lower back? I didn't know it at the time, but back in '82, the 1st time snow skiing Mammoth Mtn, in So. Cal. I broke my L4, L5 and S1. I just thought it was a sprain. Then in 2005, after stepping on a Lego barefoot, I bent over to pick it up and when I straightened back up the upper part slipped and did not align back in place and put me in the worst pain I've ever felt. Had to have fusion or the next sneeze would've put me in a wheelchair for life. Gratefully, the surgery worked for about 16 years. After having a terrible Right Hip replacement, where the dumbass doc cut my femur too short so it screwed up my fusion. I am now on permanent disability and can't surf any more, after 50 years of surfing. I am so depressed. I hope and pray for you Koa, that your low back pain isn't serious and can get you back out there sharing your amazing surfing and adventures. I now live vicariously through your, "This is Livin'" videos. Mahalo for all of your awesome adventures and sharing them with us. Heal fast little brother!

yep--the travel probably set that lower back off.

I feel for you. Get an MRI. Likely bulging disc. Don't ignore it, leads to herniation, cracks which may require surgery, I know from experience.
So do I and it’s more than just painful
it would be sick if u visited margaret river and the box, keep up the good surfing❤
If any decent swell hits Sydney you need to come and surf deadman’s in manly!
Great super fun waves and 🐋 so great hope the back gets better soon
COOL LOOKING VIDEO... SURFERS ON EVERY WAVE OF THE SET... GOOD SURFERS ON MULTIPLE WAVES IN EVERY SHOT... IT JUST LOOKS SO COOL !
12:24 Bobby is a total ripper!!

Yoga def helps flexibility and overall strength.

Yoga makes sense too - lots of stretching and increased flexibility
Coffee is acidic to the body, your body sending you a message. Alkalise to realize and heal your injury. Epic content as always!
Lmao his back isn't fucked because he'd had a coffee.
koa you gotta come down to sa. last year when you where in fiji you left the day before we got there and i was looking around everywhere out at all the surf spot so to see you down here in sa would be sick

For the back lay flat go into a bridge pose. Lower one vertebrae at a time then bring the knees to the chest for a self hug👌
East coaster here. I’ve always loved pictures and videos from Hawaii, you guys are so lucky. Love the whales too. Thanks.
You do know that’s Australia?
Been waiting for this one! Bummed I missed you while you were here but so stoked for you to get back
Same thing happened to me with my lower back and come to find out, it was from driving. Lay flat on the ground and try to stretch a bunch
Back pain is the worst. I hope you feel better and that some adjustments and proper stretching sorts you out.
Epic day, not a bad feature from a tourist, blessed to call it home 💯🇦🇺🤙🍺 🌊 🏄♂️
Bobby’s backhand championship level!
Great video Koa, more Bobby please🤙
