Ah the good old days when kits were uncomplicated and straightforward to assemble not like today with the dreaded photo esch , 6 pieces where 2 would do and individual track links to make things tedious and stressful . Admittedly modern models are more accurate and finely moulded but they don,t have the nostalga of the old Revell , Hasagawa , Airfix kits . Takes me back to my early modelling days in the '60's .
It's funny how these old kits illicit an emotional response. Just noticing those subscriptions are getting up there, 1000 here we come.keep up the great work.
You are exactly right about the emotional response... I was compelled to get this one even though I'd gone in for something completely different. As for the subscribers, I've been trying not to think about it. It's very odd to think my chaos is that popular. Mrs. Meltdown is agog. Cheers MM.
This was the very first plastic model I ever build some 50 years ago, and i still remember it. I remember my parents were going away and I was to spend the weekend at my grandmother, and before my parents left, I got this little model to have fun with during my stay. Obviously it made some impression on me, and hooked me. But I guess the result of this model was terrible - propably more glue than plastic... Greetings from Sweden
Like the Bren Carrier although I never built it back in the day. I'm surprised how well the figures look given the age of the kit although the poses are a bit stiff. Like your "vignette" with the Forward Command Post, looks like you caught a moment when they've been briefly illuminated with a flare, which is very atmospheric.
Yes you're right about the figures, and they really give the set great character. Glad you like the vignette to, it's exactly what I'm aiming for. Cheers MM.
That is a set that has held panzers at bay on many a wargames table. Its still a sound little kit. The Brengun carrier also fits well on the falt bed WW2 rail wagons.
At the rear of the Bren carrier is an open channel (seat?). You are the only builder on RUclips to place it in the "cupped" position, as shown in the Airfix instructions. The rest have this facing downwards for some reason.
I was in Paris with a friend years ago and we saw a local workman leaning on a broom, and my mate said " Typical French lack of application. In Britain it would take two or three blokes to get nothing done like that". MM

Those old 1/76 kits aren't bad at all. I built the Airfix 1/76 "88mm gun and tractor" kit, years ago, and it was pretty nice.
I love 'em ! MM.

A very nice kit.
I completely agree. Looking forward to getting another one. Cheers Mm.

Now that is an interesting little model waiting to get built............ Cheers MM.
Aifix Universal Carrier mainstay of my armies
And I thought it was the experimental Bren Carrier A1A (revised suspension) only a few were ever built.
That's it. That's precisely what I was aiming for ! MM.
Truly a classic .

Lol British army like the council, 2-3 people stood there talking and pointing and some poor sod working his ass off. Great video
