Thank you VERY much. You took time to show how to lock the gun open and how to decode the gun at the end. This is most helpful for those of us trying to learn the basics. Many/most prepare videos and “assume” the audience knows the basics and don’t take time to slowly demonstrate EVERY step, which is a mistake. You have done an EXCELLENT job covering all details, from start to finish and I sincerely appreciate it. Thank you. I look forward to viewing your other videos.
Joe Warner thank you for watching! I’m being honest here when I say that my disassembly videos are the most enjoyable to make and I am glad they can help!
To save wear on the long slide and frame rails, of this gun, I recommend a light grease. To name a few good ones, there is Milspec TW25, Shooters Choice, and the one I like is Enos slide glide.
Hey man, this is my first Sig - I bought the Hoppe's 9 Action Cleaner 'only' and a separate Hoppes 9 lubricant oil. Looks like you use a combo product, is that easy/better? Anything wrong with what I picked up?
Nope. You are good to go. Back in the day I used to use nitro solvent on the barrel and underside of the slides of my pistols and then finished up with some gun oil. Just use the cleaner first and then oil. Down the road look into getting some Safariland CLP. That will take care of the cleaning, lube and preserving at the same time.
It was a TALO exclusive that was sold through a few dealers that buy their guns from Davidson's Distribution. TALO does exclusive finishes and firearms furniture for certain retailers.
Travis, you should just toss it in a sonic bath. Eat a sandwich and by the time you finish your meal, DING! Gun bathing is done and gun is bling BLING my friend. Easiest way to clean gun, parts, and brass for reloading. Multi-use machine for your reloading AND firearm needs.
MAD SEXY MAN OF THE NIGHT She was sleeping. Also, I filmed this shortly after eating dinner so I was bloated. Don't worry, Black Rifle coffee will be featured in my next cleaning video!

Solid recommendations!
Picked one of these up a month ago, swapped out the short reach trigger with the standard. I'm much happier with that one.
That is what a lot of people tell me with regards to the SRT.
@@travisp11 It makes a huge difference.
SRT is Short RESET trigger.
Finally. I've watched several other videos and this is the best I've seen. Thank You.
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the video, now I know how to clean my P229 40.
Glad to help!
Very good I used to carry a 229 but I don't remember the exposed hammer it was a double acton
Yup. They so have the double action only model.
I have one of those guns I love them sig. Sauer P229 love that gun
Right on!
Thank you for the video. Any recommendations for a new P229 Elite owner?
Phillip Not really. Just get out to the range and practice with it! You will love it!
Very helpful, thanks
Thanks for watching!

What kinda Sig grip is that on your 229?
I cannot find that anywhere online.

As always good cleaning vid and info....Good stuff...
Scott F. Thanks!
Hey Travis, would you know where I can get a new guide rod spring for siq P229 ?
I accidentally ruined mine.

What kind of conceal carry holster do you recommend for this gun?
Kydex IWB
Clinger Holsters makes a good holster for this pistol.
Don’t know if I missed it, do you lubricate the take down
Light coat of oil only.
Some people tell me to use grease on the slide, is this necessary?
Lithium grease is fine but I prefer CLP. There is a lot of metal on metal contact with this pistol so grease works great as a mechanical lubricant.
@@travisp11 great thanks man!
Great vid. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!!
travisp11 you're welcome! I'm looking through your videos for cleaning tutorials of guns I own.
@@RAKKAR7 Right on! Out of all of the videos that I make the cleaning vids are my favorite!
REM OIL....................RUN.
Thanks. Happy New year to you and yours.
Kenneth G Maiden hasn't let me down in over 20 years of shooting...but I prefer Safariland CLP.
Poor humor on my part. Its good stuff.
It's all good!
Same here. I don't play in the miracle firearm chemical game.
The recoil spring is reversed
I did go back and fix that later

Stormin Norm G-Works I will look into one!
Easiest way to clean it...send it to me. 😉
Yurr Next Someday...someday!
travisp11 Yesssss! 😲
What no coffee or ammo cat ? What is going on here ?

Safety recommendation, no live ammunition nearby when cleaning.
David G True.
why? Are you worried that you accidentally load your pistol with it? You are not that stupid are you?
@@dantefaust9406
Before you call anyone stupid look at the statistics in the US for people shooting themselves while cleaning their guns.
Yeah because it might just sneak back in the gun.. lol Dam Safety nuts
She is pretty 😍
Jon Z Yup!!
Your recoil spring is in the wrong direction.
I believe it was upon disassembly but not on reassembly.
