i remember when pets had no stats they either gave a card or did nothing. i remember when the crown shop had a lv5 boots that gave 10 health 3% damage and 2% resist and a troll card i remember when myth level 45 hats was bugged so you can buy one and put it on when you are a level 1 and get high myth damage i remember when people used to farm the kraken and the haunted cave for exp there is a lot more i remember but this would go on forever
Lol, child play. Back in my day of wizard101 pets where a new thing and just for decoration. It was rare to get a pet with a spell card alone. Also mounds did not exist, it was rare to get shoes that provided the 40% speed increase. An finally, it was rare to team up since only way to clear a 4 team needed dungeon was to wait for people or cycle through the worlds to find a full 4 wizard squad.
The two things I can remember are: 1.) When Epic was the highest pet level, and 2.) The Golden Piggle was bugged and showed up as the Zombie Piggle in your housing inventory
Best memory of the game, and the rarest for me, is this. When the Storm Beetle pet was first introduced, it was to commemorate the 101 thousandth player or something. Waaaay back in 2009. You could get the pet with 101 crowns, and those crowns were a gift that KI gave everyone. I still have my little buddy to this day. May not be the best pet, but by god he's one of the oldest.
i wonder if that's how i got mine. i saw it in my oldest char's bank one day and was like wut i started playing in aug 2009 ish so.. now that i'm thinking about it i do vaguely remember getting free 101 crowns but i cant remember if that was the only time that happened.
I missed when housing games were popular and played often, loved to kick back after a day of questing and play housing games, with our players and exploring glitched houses
I remember those dark wood crates were literal gold because of the floating carpet glitch and it was impossible to find them and idk if they're still hard to find but glitching is possible now without them so 🤷♀️
I would say bone dragon/most legacy mounts with the new super packs that give everyone a good chance at getting those otherwise retired mounts. Also, potboiler and efreet TC, they may still be just as rare as before, but they're completely devoid of value since they aren't useable in pvp. The TC market crashed so hard I lost at least 70% of my empower savings.
@@comestible6270 He means the TC he held that were rare are now worth less in empowers so he has lost out. Stuff like 2 pip bad juju was worth quite a few empowers but KI changed it and it crashed in value. A bunch of PVP TC lost value when KI recently banned many from PVP (ice bird, etc). Then the whole Faithful Companion code given out during their stream messed with my FC collection lol. 😩
when skeleton key dungeons were just being released I was able to get my first perm mount the mander palequin which only had 2 confirmed drops at the time, I was constantly asked where I got it from and after I inevitably got bored of playing without a membership I returned 2 years later to see almost everyone with one, I miss the attention, I no longer stand out or feel special u_u
I remember getting my life mastery to this day. It was like 10 or so years ago I was walking around the commons asking people to gift me one as a mid level storm and eventually someone actually did. Kickstarted my eventual love for the game back then, now not as much.
Things I miss in Wiz101: Wizard City before it became "noob friendly" When pets were purely cosmetic and not an extra gear slot Having to walk/explore areas instead of every zone having teleporters every 5 feet Raid boss being raid bosses instead of punching bags for max level players When the coolest gear/items/pets came from end game content instead of gift cards Those mastery amulets and what a fad they were Finally getting the tier 8 spells and celestial after years of inactivity Fairy Queen (lol) Call it nostalgia or unpopular opinions, but I do miss a lot of the older stuff in Wizard101
nah it was not that hard you just needed to farm a ton of red bell peppers until they introduced amber drops for King Parsley and then with aquila it wasnt hard at all. Keep in mind there were only a few lore spells in the game at all
A lot of the permanent mounts from some of the older packs like dragon’s hoard or wyvern pack were much rarer but now KI will occasionally put those mounts in bundles on the crown shop
Someone, I don't know who, outright gifted me a Life Mastery Amulet for my Fire Wizard when I was a f2p kid. To this day, if we don't get a life wizard in a hard fight that calls for healing I whip out the treasure cards, an outgoing healing ring, and a life mastery to take up the role of support myself. Since then I've gotten like forty billion life mastery amulets from Waterworks that I never intend to use on anyone else. And Omen gave my fire the Luphilim Life one the first and only time I participated in killing him. I'm practically drowning in this stuff.
I remember SCOOL BLADES were rare, the first way I found to get a few were planting honey Sickles, but you wouldn't get a seed back, so it was basically a one off. Then came the sword fern😍😍! This was a God send! You would get a blade and your seed back. This was also at the time double gardening would give you an extra seed. So after a few months I had hundreds maybe a thousand+ of all the school blades. I had to use an alt account just to hold them. They were rare, special.... then the unthinkable 😭 all the blades became available in the library. So that's my story.
I remember back in the day I got my black cat by buying it from the halloween event vendor. Other than that, you could only get it from 2 bosses. I rarely saw the pet around back then, but now, I see so many people have it because not only can you get it from more bosses, it became available in packs and fishing chests. Doesn't really feel special to have the black cat anymore (yes it isn't that great of a pet but I felt special having mine :( )
Anyone else remember the people who found ways to get outside of the boundaries and people would ask to friend them to teleport outside so they could mark their locations? It was stupid and you'd refuse to mark your location anywhere else because you could teleport outside the map. Now I think they've gotten rid of all that and Olde town is way more open than just the streets, I believe you can go inbetween houses and such now
For one the guardian outfit was a big hit at one point. And also the golden dragon thrones used to be rare in the bazaar. I remember my friend always wanted one. Now you get get them easily there.
Before Team up existed you had to wait and hope someone was on the same quest as you to line up to the portal. Pets were just decorations and gardening didn’t exist. Used to be able to buy pets at the bazaar, and some pets you can no longer get. I have a storm beetle which I have no idea how I got which is an “exclusive pet.” Not sure if it means the pet itself is discontinued but I guess unless someone has that pet you’re not getting it anytime soon
honestly I don't really remember a lot of rare stuff since I was really young so I'll just say that everyone had that wiz character they deleted cuz they got in a fight with their wiz friend and felt sad that they were unfriended
The good old days farming nightshade and Halloween tower with no membership and the Selena gomez event life was so fun bad then now I struggle to keep playing without getting burned out
I dont have anything that was rare but isnt anymore but I do have something that is to this day still rare. I have the infamous Valor Sword from 2009 during the veterans day promotion and its just so cool both to look at and to know that its such a rare item
I remember getting the selena gomez items, and since i was f2p and had nothing unlocked i sold them to buy my very first house with gold lmao. i thought i was rich when i sold them they were worth stacks.
I immediately thought of Clockwork Spider. I got one and had no idea it was rare back in 2010, so when the pet update came out it was super popular for a few years. Pretty bad card, but the aesthetic was cool enough to make me the cool kid in the hatchery. I rarely hatched with anyone since I wanted to be as cool as possible for a long time and it worked Zeke clothes are still rare, but the spectral star, moon, and sun design is no longer rare
Fastest way is someone doing a dungeon you can port to and it gives xp like nastrand but this is bad because it gives you more xp than you need to level up which means you lose out on xp in the future when you go questing.
