I was there too. It was a fantastic concert. I drove all the way from Adelaide with a friend and we had a great time. One of the best concerts I ever went to.
I remember a girlfriend I knew from High School. She lived in Sandringham. We went to some pub/nightclub, in that area. Apparently Shirl from Skyhooks owned it. He did walk in, he looked around, walked around, but he seemed to be a bit aloof, lonely, and lost looking. Just not talking to anyone, but doing his own thing. Then he died not long after. I always have suspected suicide. Which will always be hidden, I know that.
Very underrated song, this one.
Faaaaaaark Meeeeee ! Gaaawd I Miss Ya Shirl !!!
Thanks for this Absolute Gem of a Song from The Brilliant Ego Album ..

I heard about skyhooks in the 70s never got the ceiling concert I love that first album brings back a lot of memories❤❤❤❤
Love Bongo's subtle guitar in the background at 3:34 ... as if the song isn't already busting all expectations, it just keeps on giving!

Their Masterpiece
This is my favourite song on the album. I have never seen them live and never will but I would have had a meltdown if I had been in that crowd.
Another example of why they were a step ahead.
Bring more!!!! Awesome!!!
