One of my favorite memories from when I was little was going through my mom's jewelry box. It was like exploring a pirates treasure chest. My mom says that she had no idea we liked it so much, it was just full of random costume jewelry, but we didn't care. To us it was an adventure. So keep all your old jewelry, someday your children might love looking through it all.
Too true...going thru "Mom's" jewelry box WAS like a pirate adventure!!! My sister & I would insist on the specifics of each piece...who, what, where, when, why & how it was given...we just loved holding each treasure in our little hands, turning it to catch the light & sparkle...ahh, memories! Your future little girls will just LOVE your jewelry, Fleur...
It was really nice hearing about all the trinkets you received from your family and loved ones! Hearing about them actually made me a little sad because growing up, it was just my mom and me. My grandmother lived with us but she had Alzheimer's and she gave away all of her jewelry and sentimental things to her only son (in asian families, boys are considered superior...). She passed away a few years ago and all I have to remember her by is the pamphlet from her funeral service but of course its better than nothing. I hope you know how lucky you are to have so many loved ones in your life! I really loved this video and made a mental note to give my future kids as many sentimental things I possibly can. It's so obvious you came from a wonderful, loving home and I think thats why your videos seem so special =)
Fleur, it is incredibly sweet of you to share your collection with us! Jewelry is so much more special and intimate over beauty, bags and shoes and I really appreciate this special share! I love your sentimentality over all your precious items regardless of their monetary worth and I think it speaks volumes of the person you are! Now you have me craving antiques! LOL! Love the storage system because I find my more delicate necklaces do get entangled on the table top stands. Also, please don't apologize for sharing with us. That's why we are here, to get ideas and inspiration for our own lives. I roll with what I can afford and I take notes on what is out of my budget right now but could be a possibility later on. Hi Fleur! Just watched this video and my mum has literally just bought me an antique jewellery box for my birthday, identical to yours! How strange. The part where you laid your delicate necklaces was originally meant for small beauty items such as a nail file, scissors etc. and the deeper square compartments at the back were for glass perfume bottles and jars. As you love the history of the box just as much as myself, I thought I'd shed some light :) Beautiful box and a really lovely collection! Xxxxx

I love keeping sentimental things like that. I had a jewelry box that an aunt of my dad bought me and I stored all my jewelry from when I was a kid to the age of 16 and sadly someone broke into my home and stole it! Wish I could retain all of those things back, because many of that jewelry were gifts.
If you have trouble storing long fragile necklaces you can use a cork board wit a nice wallpaper or something on the back for decoration the. Put pins I'm the board and hang the necklaces on there
