    I was inspired by the boxy shape that all your summer knits seem to be. I’ll have to try it out. It’s a style that a lot of people seem afraid to embrace thinking it will add weight to their appearance. I see how airy and cool it would be over a light, floaty summer dress. I learn a great deal from your videos, thank you!

    Thank you for a most enjoyable episode. It is so helpful to see and hear your opinions on your summer knits. Lots of the information that you give is invaluable and even more so as it is coming from a designer. I'm in the southern hemisphere and like you a slow knitter, so I would like to thank you again for providing me with lots of ideas for my next summer knits.

    Thank you for keeping me company. I have a rare day off to myself and I am knitting quietly on something small today. I too love cotton and linen even if it’s a bit harder on my hands. I have done two sideways linen knits and I love them. Fit is harder and requires some math. Jujuba on Ravelry. I’ve used Juniper Moon and like it too. A little heavier. Made a summer jacket with 3/4 sleeves with it and the Jujuba format. Thanks for all the inspiration. I never miss your podcasts but don’t always comment. You are really impressive. 🇨🇦🧶

    Thank you Beth for a showing all your summer knits. I’ve made a list for this summer and just started knitting one in de rerum Penelope, lovely yarn. I did purchase de rerum Antigone to knit the mid ocean tee, the ball felt softer than my swatch, it’s a little crunchy, I hope it softens up. Funny, you mentioned de rerum Robinson, just purchased this as well to knit the Wild Posy tee. I completely agree, sandnes garn line is wonderful and so economical. Looking forward to the next podcast.

    I feel the same exact way about non natural fibers and the holes shirt. I had the same issues knitting mine. James is great tho! I'm so impressed you try other patterns. Not many designers do that but you always learning something. I cannot wait for your pattern with my advent this year. All the best Beth! - Kimberly

      Yes - I think the Look at My Holes shirt works for some brains but not all. Interesting! I wonder what it is about it but I just couldnt maintain the stitch count!. I LOVE knitting from others patterns and learn so much from doing so. Kind of craving another, may have to cast something on as a nice mental break :) Thanks for watching!

    Watched last night and now I’m adding several knits to my 2024 list! And I’m doing more than one in my favourite colour! All your comments hit home to me re boxy and loose and drapey - comfort is so important to me! Thank you!

    Enjoyed your Summer Knit Show; will add a couple to my Faves list, thanks. I'm working on Agave by Yumiko Alexander, and I purchased more yarn to make her Doodles pattern as well. Her patterns can be made in a variety of yarn weights (I'm using a lace weight doubled); you won't have issues using your fave yarns I think. They're loose, airy, & fit your boxy criteria to a T. Take a look; I think you may find a few to add to your own Faves list. 😊

      Oh wow! I just looked Yumiko up and she is right up my alley!!! I've added quite a number to my list. Thank you!!! The Agave looks fabulous as does the Doodles. I also really like the Lily - all stunning!!! Thank you so much for the tip!!! I may just have to cast one on ASAP!!!

    Hi Beth, kudos to you in completing “look at my holes”. I attempted the knit without success. I could not understand the cadence of the pattern and stitch count. I ended up knitting the Topaz Tee instead. Thanks for showing your summer knits.

      Yes it was tricky for sure! I was always off stitch counts. I'll have to check out the Topaz Tee. Thanks for watching!

    Beth, such a great episode! I live in a climate that is warmer than yours, less humid but with little to no breeze. If I don't do the proper attitude work, wardrobe adjustments, or trip planning, I suffer as the temps rise and linger from early May through late September. I love your style aesthetic, so I found your episode to be inspirational and encouraging. Thank you for being so thoughtful!

    Really enjoyed this one. Plenty of podcasters do lists of patterns they like, but I found the actual garments more inspiring…. thank you. We have humid summers so it has given me much food for thought.

    Good Morning, Beth 🌄 Just purchased your Bermy Basic 18 - just adore your designs & esthetic. I live in Florida & today the temp will be 95-97°F - WAY too hot for this early in the season 😮 Certainly makes it a challenge to be an obcessive Knitter who adores wool & silk - but your designs are certainly helping me out ❤ Have safe travels to Alaska - perfect time of year to be heading to the far north, right?? 🥰

    I COMPLETELY get you when you talk about being a “Daydreamer knitter.” I am working on Ysolda’s Broch Beanie, no colorwork design could be easier, and I have frogged it three times because I keep screwing up the decreases! 🤬 I’m actually knitting on it and watching you right now which, come to think of it, is not the best idea. 😂😂😂

    When did you start knitting? And how long did it take for you to reach the level that you are at now?

    • @bethmacdonaldstone
      @bethmacdonaldstone  4 месяца назад +1

      I started when I was young but left it until I had my child about 16 years ago. I'm fairly obsessive so knit a lot and keep persevering. Always making mistakes and always trying to learn from them. A fun and creative puzzle.

    What do the little cherry things taste like? Do they have a pit or seeds?

    • @bethmacdonaldstone
      @bethmacdonaldstone  3 месяца назад +1

      They are lovely. The texture is overall very soft. Thin skin, VERY juicy (they pop when you bite into them) with a round pit in the center. Very refreshing. Very sweet and can of course be a bit tart if under-ripe (too orange in color). 😋❤

    • @sew_So_beautiful
      @sew_So_beautiful 3 месяца назад

      @bethmacdonaldstone They sound lovely. I wish I could try them, but I guess I'll have to live through you and other people. There are so many lovely places to go and things to see, do, and taste, and not nearly enough time and money for all of it.
