    Wow. Thank you. This was not actually the issue for me, but when I started to go through the motions of your video, I found a bracket from the battery the wankers that sold me this car dropped wedged blocking the reverse

      But now I have explored my linkages, and I know how to remove the air intake

    I didnt quite catch that bit dislexic lol.. do you have to push the linkages away from the plastic thread.. or pull it all the way in?

      Just basically make sure it’s nicely centred and when I do them I pull both the plastic adjuster and the treaded rod toward each other just to take out the play between the 2 mate 👍

    there is always a warm fuzzing feeling when that tiny small job actually goes to plan and not turn into a big pain in the a$$

    I've done this a few times but still can't get reverse. I changed the clutch so disconnected all the linkage. Everything else seems fine now but just cannot get the linkage aligned right. Any advice?

      @@nsoper19 I would check how much slack is in the bushes on the end of the linkages as they can wear out and TPS sell replacements for around £20+vat each so for the money it’s worth changing them first mate

      @@custombodyrepair thanks for the advice. It worked perfectly before disconnecting everything but not now. Maybe I damaged the bushes when I removed them?

    • @custombodyrepair
      @custombodyrepair  13 дней назад +1

      @@nsoper19 quite possibly mate they do wear out so with removing and refitting they could easily have gained too much slack to engage properly

    Got same problem with my leon mk2. Only go in R,1,3 n 5
    2,4,6 only went in half way n grinds.
    Think i stretched the gear cable for 2, 4 n 6

    • @custombodyrepair
      @custombodyrepair  2 месяца назад

      @@dillon84 there’s plenty of adjustment in the linkages mate so lock it in neutral and try and few adjustments see how you get on, if the cable is dead it’ll become clear fairly quickly but they are fairly difficult cables to stretch so you might well get away with making some adjustments

      @custombodyrepair yes your spot on.
      I've rung so many garages today for quotes and advice n some r saying gearbox, clutch it'll cost u 1k
      I'm no expert but it's defo not the gear box or clutch.
      Alot of mechanics have agreed with me n said yeah I think it could be as simple as adjusting or a cable.
