Just a reminder, if you live in a hail threat area. *Please make shelter for any animals on your property. Even large animals, like cattle or horses, can be badly injured or even worse, by hailstorms. Chickens, unfortunately, can panic and rather than go in their shelter, like sensible creatures, will run around in circles. You don’t want to imagine the aftermath. So, lock them up tight before the storm. Whew! Had to put that out there, just in case. I’m sure most everybody knew to do all that, but better safe than not…..God bless. 😊

Last week in my area of Missouri we had a tornado and then two days later we had a downburst wind event that did lots of damage so I expect some more damage coming.

Myself, I have been chased on the highway by a tornado once, and just missed me by a quarter mile when I tucked into Grayling Michigan, one came down my street in front of my house, and a third hit the shore next to us while my family was on our sailboat on vacation. That one knocked the boat over, so water was covering the cabin window, and our sailboat, a Cal 27 sloop, held together perfectly. I had my three tornados; I am willing to share my next one if you want. Lolololo.......

This is very dangerous, and significant severe weather is vey likely from today all the way to Sunday, watch for tornadoes, significant damaging winds, and very large hail

Towards Saturday it looked like bad weather moving into Wisconsin. But I don’t know. Max was focused on the Middle United States.

Here in Canyon, TX its currently cloudy with highish dewpoints and very high humidity. Wind is currently out of the SE. I will still be pleasantly surprised if we even get rain out of this event. Even more so if we see hail or a Tornado. The last two may not happen given my hometown's luck of being missed every year. Regardless, we need rain because La Niña is on the horizon and with it comes more drought, dust storms and wildfires like we saw in February. I'll be watching Saturday since that's a strong day to see tornadic activity.

NE Illinois about an hour west of Chicago. When do I need to keep my eye on the sky ? Should I be getting water, snacks, batteries, radio, and flashlight to my basement at the ready ?

Sounds like a hail advisory, might have to duck in under an overpass bridge.
If weather scares people, they shouldn't be watching weather forecasts! Best just to hide in their closets.
So not ruling out the possibility of a severe weather outbreak happening as well into northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin. Very large hail and strong tornadoes look (Possible) Future weather models show greater instability as far as upper Michigan. So we’ll see what happens. Mainly we have to keep an eye on Saturday once things are looking more clearer. Stay Safe People.

Where I live in Missouri is in the marginal areas so I pray for the people in the higher risk areas to stay safe and be prepared
I'm ~25 miles almost due west of St. Louis and Weather Underground has us at ~80% chance of thunderstorms between 7 & 8 AM Friday. Partly cloudy Saturday with rain in the evening Sunday.
Doesn't look to bad but ... I check the 10 day forecast periodically throughout a day & it can change hourly one way or the other. Gotta love the Midwest with popup storms happening when ever they darn well feel like it.
Just a drop of rain here in my area nothing bad yet. Cloudy and breezy. Northeast oklahoma.

Hurricanes will be very bad. If Jesus wasn't picking us up soon, I would be concerned! 😯 The WEF is plotting all evil against us at this very moment during Passover/Feast of Unleavened Bread. In Saudi Arabia, no less.
If you don't have a basement, a deep ditch just to get below ground level might save your life. If you're homeless, anything below ground is your absolute best bet. DO NOT go under overpasses or highways. They concentrate the wind into a much more aggressive flow.
