García Alarcón ( Capella Mediterranea orchestra) and scenic director Thomas Jolly. Eliogabalo masterpiece by Francesco Cavalli composer with beautiful and exquisite baroque music. Flavia Gemmira (N. Sierra soprano) was his unrequited love. According to the libretto of the opera, Eliogabalo lost his head trying to deceive her by promising that he would be his wife and then being able to abuse and steal her honor as did with other Roman ladies... The emperator married about five times and had male lovers, He liked to transvestite and wear women's clothing.
The Emperor Eliogabalo of about 18 years, extravagant, lustful and perverse, priest God Invictus Sun, and was assassinated by the soldiers of his praetorian guard, beheaded and his rest thrown to the river Tiber of Rome.

Franco fagioli sembra proprio una donna, la voce precisa di un mezzosoprano, purtroppo non si capisce una parola e anche la traduzione non è in italiano. trovo anche i bassi troppo scuri tutti in petto. Comunque favoloso, incredibile
