- Опубликовано: 30 сен 2024
- Former Navy SEAL and author Jack Carr joins Mike Glover to do a walkaround of Jack's 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62. They do an overview of the details of what seems like a regular Land Cruiser at first glance, but when you look up close, you find that this isn't any old Land Cruiser. Also, find out what part of Jack's new book, The Devil's Hand, was inspired by Mike Glover.
Jack Carr is a Former Navy Seal Sniper, outdoorsman, and a New York Times Bestselling Author. Jack Carr's upcoming book, called The Devil's Hand, will debut April 13th, 2021. Stay tuned for a book signing at Fieldcraft HQ in Heber City, UT.

if I ever have the funds, I’d rather have something like this than a flashy new vehicle. this build is so clean and jack carr is the man!!
I Agree.
You and me both, brutha. Already on a budget goal.
100000%
He included the Land Cruiser in his book as a tax write off. Smart.
I’m a simple man. I see “Land Cruiser”, I click play
Same
Me too
Bro facts
Jack’s beard astonishes me. How does it go that high up his cheekbones? Are you part wolverine? Does your razor suck? Do your eyeballs grow hair?
Lmao, lawrd have mercy!!
It's not uncommon. Most guys with beards (at least the ones who can really grow one good) just trim their beards down to make it more symmetrical. He's just choosing to go full bore with the beard.
I mean, what would be the point of a beard that only covers your jaw? More beard is always better.
In case you guys and gals weren’t aware, Chris Pratt is starring in his Navy Seal book “The Terminal List” adapted to a tv series
Yeah and it's Amazon instead of a TV network so it won't need to be watered down. I have high hopes.
@@MakerInMotion dammit. I hate using ccp Amazon
@@CaukyAsian i was shocked Amazon picked it up, on top of Chris Pratt starring. Jack Carr and Pratt are both right wing and the book is super macho (in a good way)
@@Valorius The only artificial diversity in the cast I'm aware of is the journalist character Katie. She was white in the book and asian on the show. I don't give a shit. Her ethnicity wasn't important to the character. Not like when the BBC had a black girl play Anne Bolyn. The cast photo of Reece's SEAL team was true to life, a bunch of white guys. Some of them were even really SEALs. I'm just glad they didn't throw a chick in there.
Owned a '71 FJ55 "iron pig" for about 20 years but my pockets just weren't deep enough to trick it out...so I kept it mostly stock. The original in-line six w/ 3-speed on interstate was pure Armageddon as far as decibels in the cab and squirrely as could be. Still, I miss it. Maybe one day we will meet again. Nice Cruiser!
Fantastic vehicle...however I just can't keep my mind from wandering to consider what these two men have seen and done in their previous lives.... I'd like to read their take on all those places they've been and the actions they've been involved in!
Man, an LS swapped Land Cruiser... This is giving me ideas.
Hope ya got deep pockets!
I LS swapped mine for about $2400. It’s not that bad.
@@MyEman3 the land cruiser is the expensive part
@Gerrit Todd read the comment before yours
@@MyEman3 how?
The producer of this video did not trust these two with and liquid in those constantly carried mugs, not once did lips meet rims.
No doubt. Pretty obvious branding, but I hung around for the Land Cruiser.
I bought one of Jack Carr’s books at Walmart it was like the only one left for $6.99
Tinnitus sucks. It drives me crazy at times. Cool vid and awesome yota
Tell me about it . . . Actually don't bother, it's bad enough anyway. 10 mil valis help for some for some reason. This is why I think meditation and all that "cool lol" hippy shit actually works. Who have funked it eh!?
Tinnitus is a hill to climb.
Not sure if from the Infantry or just life, but always with me.
@@johnwightman7169 try some low dose Valium. Not crap of the street but from a medical professional although, they won't give it to you! So try other ways if your T gets as bad as mine sometimes then definitely try it. In the day time or just to get that sleep. Promethazine is an anti-histamine, that is the one prescription my doc gave me, to help sleep. You can also buy Promethazine over the counter which I thought would just be useless but I have been sleeping. As I'm sure you know, sleep is most vital for our brains and bodies to function properly! Very very important! What I'm trying to say is, if it takes you having to take a sleep aid because of T then do it. The meds greatly out way the complete horror and disallusionment you feel when your T is spiking and you've not had sleep in God knows how long. Very dangerous. So, definitely treat it with some sleep aid although not every night if possible! Hope this helps somebody!
Once in a while, there’s quiet, then I wake up. Gary Owen
Love this guy! On my third book now, Savage Son. Also, the Land Cruiser is beautiful. Miss my '77 FJ40.
I chose to just accept my tinnitus as a companion for life. I will never be completely alone. I think that quote is gonna stick with me instead.
Can't wait! I grew up in Morgan (live in NV now) and have been looking forward to getting by the Fieldcraft Survival facility, what a great 2fer! I am 100 pages into Savage Son and can't wait for the next installment, The Devil's Hand.
Oh man you're in for a mind blower lol
The Beard & the Hair! Awesome content guys, really appreciate all you do & have done. You guys should collaborate & write a book together, the storyline and theme of it would be epic. I'd def buy & read that, the possibilities are endless.
Clearly not a car guy. Doesn’t really seem to know much about his vehicle.
I was thinking that myself. Thought it was a bit boring. OUT
Go to the last line of defense video. More in depth video about the cruiser
Roger that will check it out 😀👍OUT
The detailed review on this vehicle is crazy good. Two years. I’d be down there everyday watching the process. Wow.
Jack Carr is one of my favorite writers
Taking out a Toyota engine from a Toyota, loses the whole point of reliability. Have to disagree on this one Mike. When the SHTF you want reliability of a bullet proof engine and not 0-60 times
Love from Texas y’all 🤠🤘🏻
Heard Jack on Jacko, great podcast and look forward to reading the book!
thanks guys n super cool land cruiser!
I design camshafts for LS engines.
Would you be interested in testing a camshaft for this application? I've spec'd tons of cams for ls swaps in Hilux's that are in the ME. Most of them have power adders and are pretty wild compared to this. That said I have a profile in mind that would work very well in your application and not degrade the OEM capability of the engine.
I follow your channel quite often and it would be really cool to work with you.
Are you going to shut off comments on here after taking people's money for a vetting process and not sending the welcome kits to "members"??? Asking for a friend.
Great Video -- Thanks for sharing
Love the LS swap 🤤
I saw this build on LLOD with the other Mike
Jack/Icon did an amazing job on this build.
I have noticed the brand you guys seem to wear a lot with the small shield on your left shoulder.
Who makes that? I like the flannel.
Might be Kuhl
They make some really quality gear.
Fieldcraft hits a home run with a look see at Jack Carr's Land Cruiser. Looking forward to Jack's book in a couple of weeks. I'm hooked. I admit it. I need a Reece fix at least once a year.
Makes sense. Just like you have a get home bag, you have that get home vehicle, and once there you have your bug out bag/bug out vehicle.
Funny thing is, in the books James’ land cruisers never last longer then a few chapters. Poor guy keeps getting his awesome land cruiser and then a few days later it’s shot up, crashed and or ditched. Lol
These days, everyone with a beard & tattoos, & a bumper sticker, claim to be a SEAL.
Jack Carr is my new hero! Read the 1st book ....awesome and cruiser is amazing.
You buy Toyota for reliability... you wanna fuck that up? add a Corvette motor.
You probably drink 12yr old Scotch with Coke!
LETS BUY 10 FULLY LOADED REZVANI HERCULES AND 10 FULLY LOADED REZVANI SUV'S ON TOP OF THE JEEPS
Great truck and book mention much joy and happiness to you and your team. Have a great year!
Sheesh... Non-Gunners don't realize ONE SHOT with a significant rifle without hearing protection = lifelong ringing!! Ask me how I know!!
Beautiful vintage Toyota Land Cruiser.
However, being a 1st Gen Cummins snob, he should have put a 4BT Cummins Diesel in it. Horsepower is a joke, but lots of torque, and the best part: Post collapse he'd have access to a limitless supply of fuel in the form of used oil and ATF from all the abandoned vehicles. The only diesel and gasoline he'd need to carry would be to cut the waste fuel with, for a fuel mix/ filtration unit. Also, that's what en-route caches are for. Also, diesel stores literally forever, compared to gasoline.
I had a new 2011 76 series TD put together by BAE (of course) for WPS. I got in 2013. Not for me personally, you tax payers owned it. And Afghans wrecked it.
JACK Carr Ain’t you special special forces GQ Navy seal guy whatever don’t care
God it's so sad the FJ70 isn't available in North America.
Awesome video, guys. Looking forward to seeing more about the new build!
Jack Carr is shaping up to be the next Tom Clancy, I love it!
Who shows a LC with a Vette engine and doesn't at least turn the beast on for the viewers? Come on man..
Watching the first episode of Terminal List and thought "That Land Crusier looks familiar."
Hey gys how to buy those hats tha you´re wearing? TKS... Fernando from Brazil!!
I'm curious to see the stats on the uptick in demand for Land Cruisers since JC's first appearance on JRE.
Clean fj62. I miss my fj60. Had to sell it in '08 during the financial crisis.
Awesome vehicle but I noticed the well built K9 crate and what brand is that? Also what K9 does Jack have?
I don’t know who is more popular. Him or his fJ62. Love em both though.
I know Jack is a prolific author, but damn... I want MORE!!!
A 10th mtn grunt could absolutely run the free world better than anyone who's done the job so far lol
Can’t wait to get the new book!!!
Just ordered the book- perfect for April vaca. Loved the other 3 books.
ITA AWESOME THAT YOU STRIP THEM DOWN AND REBUILD
I refuse to believe that James Reese and jack Carr are different people.
I guess I expected oil slicks, gadgets and machine guns...
Oh icon did this, paid a prett-ty penny my friend! Compliments
Some super nice ones in Samoa. Can't remember if it was American S. or Western.
this looks like jim halbert and captain america advertisning on a car lot
All kinds of envy happening here
I love the attention to detail as well. It drives me nuts when I read a good book and they talk about how the good guy draws his Glock and flicks off the safety. What the hell!?! Know your guns when you are writing a book about dudes and dudettes using guns.
2:30 they stop trying to sale you a book
* WE THE PREPARED-LOVE THAT SHIT*
That old LC cost him around 150k, it's from TLC company, a true piece of art but very expensive.
Why does that guy look like jim from the office?
Let's talk abut the dog that crate is meant for...
Thank God for these men.
I'm halfway through The Devil's Hand. Jack Carr sparked my interest in reading with his first book, The Terminal List. Great guest and great video man.
Awesome walk around Jack is a badass
Mike, get yourself a VDJ76 4.5 V8 that can be worked to absolutely kill that Corvette motor, and it stays diesel. It will convert any Jeep fan. But find yourself an 80 series and throw the same 4.5 V8 in it and you will be a Cruiser fan for fucking life dude. Best truck, hands down, you'll never look back. Love your channel by the way, haribo gummie bears , not so much.
Ok but what’s the watch he’s wearing, Hamilton Khaki, Citizen BM8180-03E, VAER, Bulova? What is it!?
Damn, a corvette block in a landcruiser, what a wolf in a sheep's clothing👍✌✌👍😎
Had a Range Rover Defender initially in Iraq......what a POS. Traded it for an up armored Land Cruiser. Even carrying the extra 4K armor package it was waaay better. These things are stupid good. Got home, bought a 1969 FJ 55, and spent way to much restoring it, but it's bullet proof now. Which is good, since my wife saw the receipts for fixing it up. I may have to live in it.🤑
You guys are so bad assed!
Had a FJ-40. The thing needed the Chevy 350 update. Lot's of Land Cruisers had problems with major rust. The new Ford Broncos are off the hook. ICON charges a premium for their work, but their very cool.
Never been off-road?
I can meet you in Colorado and we can run a couple of mild trails around Ouray, Telluride and Silverton.
I drive a lightly modified FJ Cruiser
I really hope Amazon doesn't SJW Terminal List to death like they did with Without Remorse. That turned out baaaad.
First and hopefully the last time I’ve ever given you a thumbs down!!! You didn’t cover shit man haha you walked around it Lol thought this was a look inside and out of the Land Rover??
Jim Harrison novella reference FTW!!! But also, sick Land Cruiser.
Try something called Neuromonics for tinnitus...as a sufferer, it was awesomeness!!! All but curred!
NICE 4X4 I LIKE IT
I call them landsnoozers.
Had multiple Land Cruisers: 85 FJ60, 97 LX450, 06 LX470.
I’m reading TRUE BELIEVER now, and came across the main character’s first real experience in Mozambique and the details given had me feeling like I was really there, and I’ve never been to Africa. It was enough detail to make it feel real, enough missing for my mind to fill in details for me, and gripping enough for me to tell my wife how good it was. I’m hooked.
Not sure I would out a corvette engine into a daily driver/bug out vehicle. If you are already spending over 100k out in a diesel.
Is funny you mention Jim Harrison and the movie revenge it is a great movie. Jim was an amazing writer ✍️ . we did several quails and dove 🕊 hunts when he would come to southern Arizona for the winter.
This has to be a 50 grand car or up
Saw LLOD's video on carr's lc long time ago, and I'll say the same thing I did before. ABSOLUTE dream of a truck.
I imagine Raife Hastings looking like Mike despite the description. Also great FJ62.
I’m down at the bottom of Africa. We do love a LandCruiser here. Not seen a Vette engine in one though!
I believe those wheels are called Outback TX1. Was famous in Australia and Japan.
I have a 3rd gen 4runner I just picked up a supercharger for! Doing some Maintenance before I put it on. I love my bug out truck! 243k running strong! Nice truck
Had an 89, Charcoal,, sold it in 2017...wish I hadn’t.
Just came to see who else would now be bugging out to Montana if something crazy pops off.
Thanks Mike & Jack. Great snapshot of the 4x4 and book etc.
Jack's taller than I thought, standing a bit taller than Mike, who's not short. All good.
Trd engine would be better
Tinnitus sucks brother
As a mechanic this probably feels like Mike watching me shoot my bb pistols.
Us not! millionares like good mod ideas. Could we do that? Uh i went to a shop and paid some tweeker 10k to install this. We work on our overland 10k is not a weekend to us. Good series stay safe mike love amcon
Epic video
So glad to see my book purchase dollars are going to support another cruiser addict.
I’ve read em all and I’m a huge James Reese fan
Here's there's two badass military/survivalist types, just hanging out talking about a hotrod. I love that.
2 bad ass Patriots right there folks! Hope that book signing in Heber City happens?!
