Mm a new angle on this. Definitely my second favorite show. Metamorph is still number one. I see a lot of people commenting on them running around... Honestly, as a marcher, I can say that running around "frantically" is quite harder than just marching. These lads are roll stepping and running at the same time, which takes SO much more effort and precision to not trip and fall on your face. Not only that, these lads are hitting their forms perfectly while doing all this running around, as well as staying in perfect step. Check out Metamorph for example, even the victory run. I'm pretty sure their instructors just told them to go crazy and have fun with it. The Blue Devils, they do just that and more. Insane talent from each and every individual in the corps. Love 'em.
Johnny Smith - the beautiful transitional visual drill writing we used to see from Brubaker, Gaines, and Zingali types are a thing of the past. Now it’s exactly as you say: running around props, moving the props from lace to place, music that sounds like it came from an Arban’s etude, and dancing and prancing. I’m not denying the talent levels here - it’s off the chart - but it’s come a long way in the wrong direction since shows like Cavaliers “Frameworks” in 2002, which is still the best show I’ve ever watched.
@@Mark-sj3xb I agree with everything you said except the best show ever watched being We Are The Future - Cadets 2000...but just think the members performing in those shows in 2000 and 2002 are the ones that are steering DCI in the direction it has gone today. They are the current directors, instructors, teachers, and judges.
I really thought bluecoats had it but I must congratulate BlueDevils for an outstanding show this year. 👏👏👏
is this also called a victory run?
natetheslugger04 yes, they are in the championships stadium

Have to agree with Johnny Smith. And on top of the scatter drill, the props were visually in the way.
