Huh! I knew about planting garlic late fall/winter, but didn't know about onions. I really thought i needed my greenhouse to plant the leafy stuff. Thanks Doll!
Don't forget about Turnips! I just pulled some up yesterday here in Kansas and they looked plenty healthy.😁I may plant some onions also. Maybe even from seed.
My garlic and onions are in already. Put them in in late October. I am in south Texas. We only have three seasons: cool, hot and Africa Hot! Winter oats went in for grazing the animals in late September. Different calendar for sure for us, but the concepts are the same. In summer, I grow veggies in the opened up hot house just to keep them out of the heat! Everything is drip irrigated. Growing food for yourself is rewarding! We can or dehydrate A TON of stuff. As a retired old fart, I do that a lot. Wild hogs are a major meat source for my wife and I. I don't eat hogs shot in the summer! Wait until fall. Parasites are the issue, both external and internal. Not because of the meat, but the handling / processing phase. Stay safe Patriots, and Happy New Year.
I've watched your 2A channel for a while now and never realized you were a homesteader. I have lived off-grid in northern Idaho for the last 10 years, since retiring from the Army, and I love it
I only really started last year. I don't know if you can call it a full blown homestead as we don't have animals yet (and now are waiting because the land around us got sold and we might have to move to maintain our space), but we didn't buy any produce all summer or fall and have been eating a lot of what I put up over the winter. Planning for even more this year
Awesome gardening ideas! A good follow up, video idea, might be How to store your root vegetables, after harvesting. My barrel - small bed of scallions, comes back every spring! I even let them go to full grown flower stage, and harvested all their seeds. Which was a lot. I am just hoping the original plants will sprout up again, next spring, since they went to seed, this fall!?
I don't know every time I try to grow stuff in the winter time I go out and there's a bunch of bumps under the snow so now I live in a place where there's no snow😂 add Garden toddler is so funny and so cute she was watching you talk to the camera she thought that was funny😂😂❤❤😅
@@libertyhomesteadWhite pvc is only good for a certain number of years because of UV. I did see that HF (which you once said was not close) has their kit greenhouse $100 off for another week or so.
The boss want you to do your hair like her hair. (No, don't. 🙂) I have "wild garlic" that has grown in my yard for many, many years. I have some onions that i kept saying "I'll get next week". They are still green through the snow. Hope all is well with the new year. Everyone have a wonderful day. Stay safe. Take care. Have fun. 😎
l always laughed at the term ... ' Worth his onions ". guess l can get rid of the plastic egg carton method l have been using , trading up with your discount.
Your not going to be planting anything like this in Vermont or New Hampshire in December. The ground is frozen a foot deep. This is under the hoop house.
Liberty Toddler is absolutely adorable.
Thank you!
Perfect timing! Needed this! ❤ Thank you, Doll!

Before watching your video I was planning to plant some beets in early spring, but now I'm going to plant them over the winter. Thanks
Liberty Family.
Yaya! Good luck

I love canning. A dehydrator is on my wish list!
don't forget collard greens, not my favorite but do well all winter
I have a couple of collards going myself!
Fueling Al Gore's Rhythm.
Great video. I have not tried growing food myself but this is a nice video. 👍
Thank you!
Liberty Toddler She's getting so big She's almost a Liberty Adult 😢
Thanks for giving me some ideas for a Winter Garden
She's growing SO FAST 😭
Check out corn salad plant (mache). Great salad plant, combine with beets, oil and vinegar.
I actually found out about it was I was editing today! Totally missed it.
Thank you for the information I got cabbage growing and some of my neighbors give me the look 😂
Loving the new channel! Perfect timing! 🧄🥦🧅
Sounds like a yummy winter start.

I have yet to figure that out myself as we don't have anything even close to a root cellar lol
Ooooo... you had me at Fresh Garlic Ms. LD!
It's so good!
@@libertyhomestead I've also seen recipes that use green garlic... garlic harvested early. Growing my own sounds like a good chance to experiment.
Here in Arizona, I'm up to my ears in Zucchini.... otherwise known as "summer" squash.
LD is the BEST!!!
Aw, thanks
Tfat explains why some of the crops I have planted in April/May here in central FL have pooped out on me.
😊😊😊😊😊

Same to you!
good stuffs...
You can reinforce that hoop house with hog-wire panels curved in the same manner. Or why not just eliminate the plastic pipe?
I actually haven't gotten to building one yet. I have supplies for a mini one/curved row cover but didn't get to it

I’ve got to up my game once I finally get moved in a month or two. I can kill almost anything!

Love the vid but i live in ND if it ain't indoors its not gonna make it but im planning to do that so i can grow year round
I am convinced scallions are weeds. I have never planted them, but am always pulling them out of the flowers and shrubs.
There's wild garlic which is very similar and grows all over. I have some popping up right now myself
I love your outfit! Do you throw to that basket from up there?
My husband does sometimes. LT just steals the discs when I try lol
There’s a glitch in the matrix @5:49 - watch out for agents!

What kind of bike do you ride?? They use kale as a decorative plant in New England because is usually survives thru the holidays.
An obvious concern: are these activities approved by the ATF? Garlic and onions could considered a threat to ATF canines.🤣
😊😊👍🏼👍🏼
Sadly im Alaska, without significant infrastructure we can't grow outdoors. 80+ inches of snownon the ground nright now.
That sounds like my worst nightmare 🥶
not gonna lie, I watch this half for the great info, and half to see Liberty Toddler "helping"....
She steals the show lol
@@libertyhomestead the moment she can read lines from cue cards, she's gonna take your job LOL
I hope you do ride a motorcycle 😊
Haha I don't, just love this leather jacket I've had for over a decade

I take it you're not going to be eating ze bugs?
