      even if you are not giving the items to hime they start selling your inventory on a very very low price on market,it happens to my friend also and this scammer deleted his cs game and some how he also delete his prime he try to buy again the game from the same account and he couldn"t buy it any more

    If your inventory is public, scammers can find you as they scan inventories for nice items. Set your inventory to private and all those incoming friends requests will disappear. Sorry you got scammed, thanks for the vid!

    People in the Comments are missing the point, Steam doesn't care if you get scammed or something. Blaming the victim by saying "you're dumb" or "I knew it was scam" is not the solution. What if your younger sibling gets scammed in this same way and losses their account? Would you say the same thing?
    Steam should be looking out for their customers not telling them to spend more money.

    This is so messed up. If you were Anomaly and this happened to him, Steam would have recovered the belongings of him and cancelled the 7-day ban. What’s the 7-Day cooldown even benefitting when all they could do is to cancel the 7-Day ban and re-send the cooldowned stuff back to the owner. I don’t get this at all. Only famous and rich people get better treatment.

  • @finkitsallover
    @finkitsallover Год назад +2

    If Steam was going to ban you/your inventory why would they give you a 1 hour trade window it's basically a neon sign saying it's a scam. It's far more likely that it's one of the 3rd party sites having some issue rather than Steam. While it sucks that this happened to you I don't see how this is Steam's fault.

    • @mediumplayer1
      @mediumplayer1 Год назад +1

      Yeah, bro's delusional. Also, it is a common knowledge that Steam does not return scammed items outside of specific occasions since like 2015, as people used to abuse the support. Last time I've heard of Steam returning items was circa 2021 when some dude bribed the support agent (apparently agents don't work in Valve directly or smth and are being contracted through some other companies). Using the bribed support agent dude gained the data necessary to restore abandoned accounts with old expensive skins on them, by pretending to be a returning owner. Skins were then sold to traders from whom they were sometimes sold to professional players and in total there was more than 1 million $ worth of expensive skins stolen. When Valve found out and dealt with the scammer, most of the expensive items went back to their original owners, but that is a high-profile case with one-of-a-kind items that are very expensive and they definetly didn't want bad publicity.

    i do not believe your API got leaked anywhere, i think you might just have forgotten that you fell for a phishing scam. it is far more likely that you logged into something you're not supposed to as if you do so, they have full access to view your account and hence can access your email. i can almost guarantee its either malware or phishing scam, not a leaked API key. Sorry you lost all your items tho.

    • @Rix1Dev
      @Rix1Dev  Год назад

      When I scanned my device there was no viruses, and a phishing website will get access to your account in a similar way but not the way it happened, anyway its API from steam page itself explaining it here help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/7F4E-1D40-43D0-73FD#:~:text=A%20scammer%20can't%20redirect,trades%20can't%20be%20redirected.&text=Scammers%20use%20pressure%20intended%20to,fear%20to%20push%20their%20scams.

    • @mediumplayer1

      It has been said somewhere that dmarket does in fact collect and sell user data. They also banned and froze accounts of people based in Russia/Belarus "due to certain events", as if that is an excuse for a private company doing business with private customers, not the government. Those people, whose items and/or balance got frozen accounted for about a third of the userbase. You can imagine how big of a cash grab that was for the site owner. After enough publicity given to the issue they started unbanning people by request, but the damage is already done. As such, I avoid doing business with dmarket, unless they have one of a kind offer I can't get anywhere else. But even then, I have never generated and never will generate an API key. It provides little benefit and can be a security flaw. I don't know how someone could fall for the direct message that is not sent through a support ticket, but oh well...

Also I would be surprised if your API got leaked. In my case someone I had played a few games with on cs asked me to play in a tournament with him and sent me a dodgy url that I only noticed after the attempted scam played out.

    Happened to my friend a week ago. We managed to get the scammers banned within 2-3 days. They still had the skins in the inventory. But as u said steam doesnt help at all. They keep sending AI-generated messages and closing the ticket.
    I still wonder how they get FULL Access to the account? I mean, to change the profile and know all your information requires full access. I dont get it.

    It has happend to me to. My API got leaked from somewhere. Luckily I have investet only one time 10Euros for a battle pass and that was it. I only wish I have let them sell all my Items and not done the friend trade. So steamguard im my case had not reacted to a selling of my items. They could have sold all my items. That is what I recomend you do. If it happens just let them sell all your Items. At least you will have some money on your account. Do not trade.

    Since the skins have real money value this would be theft but because of how huge steam is and we the people so small compared and we never take too much action steam just makes money of the poor. If people would start getting involved in suing steam just like the guy from austria which sued them because he lost a bunch of money on steam gambling and steam had to pay his money back since in europe is illegal to run gambling games without a casino license.
