I saw it in the theater tonight. It is both hyper-violent and funny. The director made excellent use of contrasts of all sorts to break up what would otherwise have been a monotonous stream of carnage into carefully devised setups for punchline scenes. The plot is tightly written and interwoven. Bullet Train delivers the goods on many levels. The movie’s climax is full-scale. Also, be sure and stay in your seat during the credits.

I just read the novel and they really did a good job adapting it. Of course there are some things that you can't really adapt from a book and the Ryan Reynolds cameo wasn't that big in the book but definitely great read would recommend.
I watched this despite the very unkind reviews.. I'm so glad I didn't listen to them, I went to a really nice cinema and this was my favourite cinema experience of the last 5 years.. It was so much fun!!!!
