Paris Honeymoon (1939) - Bing Crosby Full Movie

  • This is a rare Bing Crosby film taken from a VHS-based file found on the internet. I have converted it from PAL's 25fps to the correct cinema speed of 24fps. Likewise the audio pitch was corrected to match the original cinema sound. The tone-curve was altered to bring back some highlight detail from a very contrasty transfer.
A big thank-you, however, to the original uploader who made it possible to see this film. No DVD release from Universal as yet, to the best of my knowledge, so enjoy this whilst it's here.

What a fantastic movie! I wish we had stars like this, that we had movies like this and that we had a Hollywood that was full of grace and class.

This is a very enjoyable Bing Crosby film. He and my great grandmother were fifth cousins...never met him, of course, but a cool thing growing up knowing. I'm very grateful for people that value these old movies, and take the time to upload them for us.

A new revelation in the form of Paris Honeymoon, one of Bing's forgotten films, although I found it entertaining. Hope to find another lost Crosby flick. Thank you for presenting it.

Let me say thank you for making this movie available to us. I usually enjoy Bing's pictures -- Holiday Inn especially -- but "Paris Honeymoon" disappointed, despite Bing's crooning and the always-delightful Edward Everett Horton. Manya is an annoying, unlikable character, and Barbara doesn't do anything to "deserve" Lucky leaving her for Manya. Which makes Lucky a cad. That said, I laughed at the great pun "I Ain't Got No Body." And truly, thanks for making this and other shows available to us.

I'd never heard of this film : the song ,
"Sweet little headache" was played on 'Angel Radio'
( based in southern England), on 18 February, 2018.
The film is charmingly corny, but still enjoyable.

Bing Crosby is always so endearing. This isn't one of my favorites, though. Franciska Gaal's portrayal of Manya is just super annoying, while Shirley Ross is so much more likeable. I was rooting for her the whole time.

Elizabeth Folsom You mean a US movie ignored the threat and mobilizations in Europe and the WWI destruction that led to it? That's your idea of innocence? If so, ignoring what is going on that is leading to disaster is alive and well and living in the US.

Akim Tamiroff is sensational in this film, really terrific!! Ben Blue a delight especially in his pantomime moments, after all he was a silent film actor. When Bing sings, Bing sings, he is wonderful as always. I love Shirley Ross who was given a graceless part in this, but she is lovely when she sings, and ever so gorgeous in her bathtub scene when on the telephone, Her part should have been switched with the Rose Queen, who was beautiful throughout especially in the wedding scenes, and as always she is given special lighting. But is a terrible actress from my point of view. Give me a Shirley Ross performance any day. Tamiroff, Blue and the ever lovable Edward Everett Horton give some fine comedic moments, DoI like the movie as a whole? Not much.

  • @yourfriendlyneighborhoodin1559

How do you get to hell?
Very simple: claim that you're innocent.
How do you get to heaven?
Very simple: Admit that you're not Innocent, you're guilty and ask for mercy.
How to know if you're guilty or not?
Simply: Compare your life to the Ten Commandments God gave you in the Bible.
Everyone agrees that if people followed the ten commandments there would be no need for governments or police.
    Do not lie.
    Do not steal.
    Do not commit adultery.
Do not insult God by using his name as a cuss word.
There are six more but let's just leave it at that.
How many lies have you told in your life?
Have you ever taken anything that didn't belong to you?
Jesus said, if you look at a women lustfully you've already committed adultery in your heart with that woman.
How many times a day do you do that?
Do you use God's name as a cuss word?
Would you do that with your own mother's name?
If you answer these questions honestly you know that you're guilty.
God can justly punish you and send you to hell.
    Ask him for mercy.
    His name is Jesus.
It's as simple as this, The Ten Commandments are called the moral law. You and I broke God's laws. Jesus paid the fine.
    The fine is death.
    Ezekiel 18:20 -
"The soul who sins shall die.
That's why Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins. This is why God is able to give us Mercy.
    Option A.
You die for your own sins.
    Option B.
Ask for mercy and accept that Jesus died on the cross for you.❤❤
