    So confused with how these work. Produces smoke and smells like burning plastic if I let it heat up before putting a pan on. When I boil water, sometimes there's a bit of overflow and it just burns on the glass? It doesn't just nicely evaporate.

    • @Frigidaire
      @Frigidaire  Год назад +1

      If you are boiling water and it is overflowing you should reduce the amount of water in the pot or use a taller pot. You do not have to warm up the burner before placing the pot or pan on. If you have smells, it could be that a cleaner you used was not washed off completely. Thx

    Just purchased a glass cooktop and I HATE IT!! We put a frying pan on it, that was flat, but it left the waffle design on the cooktop. I "seasoned" the cooktop with Frigidaire ReadyClean™ Glass and Ceramic Cooktop Cleaner before using it. I cannot get the top clean as my husband wiped it while it was still hot. I have used elbow grease and cannot get it clean. It has been used about 5 times and looks horrible! NOT HAPPY!!

      Electric glass cooktops that are not induction are TRASH.
      Since the cooktop itself heats up, not the pan, as with induction

      Yup I’m here to prevent any burning or staining on my cooktop as I just got a new glass stove few months ago and still haven’t used it. Trying to learn ways to prevent leaving a “ugly ring” around the cooktop, I think foil under the lot when it’s on?

      Hi, Becky! We would recommend following the manufacturer's instructions on your popcorn for stovetop cooking. You may need to lower the heat, cook fewer kernels at once, or add additional oil! ~Ashton

    I have to admit trying to keep the glass top clean is a job in its self. I hate that all stoves now have the on and off cycle. Especially for frying food and vegetables and pasta. Think gas is the only one that you can regulate the heat yourself. Wish that's the way i would have went now. After working coming home and cooking supper then usually have to do the deeper cleaning on it. Don't enjoy cooking on it like i did my old 1970 whirlpool.

    • @Frigidaire
      @Frigidaire  4 месяца назад

      Hi there! I understand your frustration with keeping the glass cooktop clean and the challenges of using electric ranges with their on/off cycle for regulating heat. Maintaining a clean cooktop can indeed be a task, especially after a long day of work and cooking. Glass cooktops require special care to prevent scratches and maintain their appearance. Regular cleaning with a cooktop cleaner and a soft cloth can help remove spills and residue, but deeper cleaning may be necessary from time to time. Ultimately, the choice of cooking appliance depends on your personal preferences, cooking habits, and lifestyle. It's important to find a solution that works best for you and makes cooking a more enjoyable experience. 1) Return it and buy literally anything else.
    The only glass cooktops worth a damn are induction. I'd take ugly coils over glass every time.

    • @icebearsans

      I honestly would rather glass cooktops, because my "ugly" coils sometimes spark and i even got electrocuted once and had to go to the hospital, and they're hell to clean

    • @GamerNxUSN
      @GamerNxUSN 7 месяцев назад

      Except now all the coils have those stupid sensitips. Our whirlpool finally went out and to get gas installed would have cost me 7,000 bucks, and then I'd still have to buy a range.

    These electronic glass stove tops are literally on or off. Burning your food or not.
    You could have it set on setting 2 and the pan just gets htoter and hottter until satan himself is like damn yo chill out.

      You must keep your cook top clean after every use. I use soapy water first and wipe the stove off with
      clear water and dry. If food was caked on or not shiny. I use Weiman glass top cleaner. It works for me every time. It is so simple. Never use any other product.
      If you get a spot caked on you also can use a razor without scratching it.

    Do not ever purchase a glass cook top. For anything more complex than instant ramen it will ruin your meal, literally even boiling water is a struggle with these things. They do not provide constant heat the way a gas or induction stove top does. You set them to a temp, medium or whatever, and the cooktop will heat up and then cut off and then heat up and then cut off and continue that cycle for the entire cooking process. It is impossible to get an even and intuitive cook with one of these things. Do not waste your money.
