- The 1-5-6-4 chord progression is the most common and familiar sounding progression, with hundreds of songs that use it. In this Piano lesson, I give 10 gradual levels to take a basic chord progression and turn it into something a little more interesting, which would make for a more inspiring Piano accompaniment. You can incorporate these 10 basic steps to any chord progression!

Excellent for learning the chords and rhythms as a beginner to build confidence and get to know the keyboard. Thank you from Cape Town.
You’re very welcome 🎹🤗
Thank you for this video. It has really helped me to bring alot of things together where previously they felt separate to each other. Once confident I will try in another key. Thanks again.
Yea definitely try in different keys! Glad you found it helpful 🤗🎹
Wonderful! Thank you! 🙂
You are so welcome!
Thank you Francesca, great video as always!
🤗🎹
🤗🎹
Thanks!
🤗
Very helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for the video😊
My pleasure 😊
That was too cool. I watched it just before my practice, so I'll try it out.
I had a lightbulb moment recently about what you did with the C Major chord and the A minor 7. With the Primary Major chords there is a relation betweet the I and the vi, the IV and the ii, and the V and the iii. By playing the major chord in the RH and adding the bass note, it becomes a minor 7 chord.
You are the best!
Great video again😂...I always struggle to play Pop songs because I've focused learning jazz genre, and RH always doing melody notes.
How did you pick the melody notes for each chord in Level 10?
...also at 9:16, did you mean change it to G?
Love this!
Was good through 7. Will work on 8-10. Thx.
😁
Same here!
Great video!
Might you consider the request "A Beautiful Life" by Christopher?

Could you please do good days by sza tutorial 🙏🙏 love your videos
Excellent video. Very usefull. Thank you and greetings since Cuba❤️
🎹🤗
Hi Francesca a good lesson. This passing note in the left hand can it be any or is it safer to use one that is nearer and of course part of scale or part of chord like a note that fits in with a 7 like you did with Am? And if it sounds right if not try another, yes? Thanks you're good🙂.
Heyy could u please make a tutorial for the song chasing kou (drowning love) i play piano its my dream song to learn but there isent a tutorial any where so please ❤
Muito bom!
Made it into Level 6 where I’ll need to stay for a while until I get better at it.
I'm a beginner so got to level 7. Struggling there but I'll practice.
Hi do you have a book teaching chord progression and circle of 5ths, how to use them. I am grade 7 and just starting to write my own music but need a bit of help.
I don’t yet! I’d really like to create one all about chords and songwriting. Definitely for the future 🎹
Could you please post a video on how to play Beggin you by Maneskin. Ideally, ASAP.
Let it C!
😆
Are you using the sustain peddle in this ?
Yes, it’s refreshed on every chord change
@@BitesizePiano Thought so thanks Francesca. By the way this is an excellent tutorial on many levels, my favorite part was playing two hands together. Cheers
❤
It sounded like geometry dash song at 0:06 to 0:11
It’s the exact same chords!
Tapped out level 5 - can play and understand levels up but not competently 😅
😁🎹
Lost on the 2nd
did you catch cold, your voices change
Yep!
Well... that's 90% of pop songs. 🤣
Yep!
Thanks!
