Honeslty, ZigZag and Raibolt on the casting desk would be so good. Nothing wrong with having two experts and they can both do good hype.
gets both names wrong
Chicano geographer too
Raibolt is fucking sending me that is so funny
@@Hydro-_-Especially since Trevor Rainbolt is literally his first and last name. It is not a nickname like zi8gzag someone could misremember.
Rachel, Pala + Toby actually did an amazing job at making everything smooth and transitioning. Really professional.

how topotic holds up his 5k sign like 10 minutes during the interview at the end is killing me man
☠️ ☠️☠️ ☠️
It’s was 1 minute 💀
Messi of Geoguessr
I couldn't stop laughing the entirety of the interview holy shit. whatta power move
Topotic what an absolute legend
some of the best Esports commentary, most Esports casters just yap fill empty, awkward silence, but these guys were great and had relevant commentary.
Would be nice if Rainbolt didn't spoil every country instantly.
Pala's energy is intensely Alan Partridge at times...
@@frjatoch yeah this. like yes it's cool that he knows it, but it doesn't let us even stand a chance
Meh he’s our resident expert. I guess he can call out the place after 30 seconds or so to give us a fighting chance
“How long can you stay closer… in the back seat of my rover. Shout out the chainsmoker’s” yep. Very insightful, no yapping
Kratsooo : French Geoguessr community, French Republic, and French citizens including myself have been thrilled by what you achieved all over the competition. What a roller coaster, what a fun guy, and what a damn moving game. In one word : thank you!!!
I have been cheering for Topotic the entire competition, but Kratsooo is easily the MVP here. Terrifying player moving forward
C'est réel
@@Ghost-dx8mm busted 🤭
@@frezoren5761 Both were great to me, Topotic was so consistent during the final bracket, that was insane. Congrats to him, a very well deserved victory!
Another French L. Now go shave ur Armpit women
I was scared of Topotic and he actually beat our guy Consus, hats off. Now this is a sport!
To be fair, it was really one critical mistake that killed him in each rounds. Consus still played well all round. I'm betting to see him kill the competition in the World Cup
Bro this tournament was insane. Congrats to all the players 🎉🎉
losing consus, debre, blinky, and lennli… what a wild day!
Yesh the multipliers suck arse, you can win 8 rounds out of 10 and still lose.
@@Apple_Beshy i mean yes and no. that’s why you’ve got to know your stuff! if you get a japan region guess as round 10, and you go south when it’s north, and lose, then you might not deserve to win the game. i do think that if say we had a japan region guess 9/10 times and someone gets it wrong everytime and then gets it right on the last round and wins… little weird i guess but i doubt anyone would do that 9 rounds in a row and not already be out.
@@Apple_Beshy must be new to the community? there's been a multiplier since the rainbolt tournaments. that is literally the best part
Unbelievable shi like how?!?!
@@Waynechester_ there’s different multipliers though. and you can go only to round 10 in this tournament. also rainbolt always had different modifiers to make it funny, like everyone must guess the same country, no hedging, etc
I had never seen a GeoGuesser tournament, so I decided to watch the finals, it is so entertaining and man, what a game, congrats to Topotic!! But also props to Kratsooo as well
1:40:06 I'm guessing the original surname was 'Reinbold' (from Germany) and it was likely Americanized to 'Rainbolt' by one of his immigrant ancestors.
I read this right as they brought it up. I think you’re right! My family immigrated from Japan and their last name is Americanized so the spelling can’t even be written in Japanese. An example of this is Shohei “Ohtani”
@@fumikoh6231 Using "oh" instead of "oo" is actually not an Americanization. It is popular in Japan and has it's origins just among Japanese people themselves.
@@Mac_an_Mheiriceanaigh there is no way to write “oh” in the Japanese alphabet
@@fumikoh6231 "oh" is spelled おお in hiragana, or more commonly 大 in kanji. As I said before, this is not an Americanization.
@@fumikoh6231 youre wrong booo
7:34:06 BTW, the sign says "Welcome To Members Hotel: Located at MOYALE Customs Area". Obviously, Kratsooo knew where Moyale is. I was wondering how he knew so quickly...
doing an interview with the loser would be more interesting imo, in finals both should be interviewed. would also be more variety of players doing the interviews
they should have interviewed everyone who got knocked out from QFs on to hear their thoughts on what went wrong. It was completely bonkers they did not.
Interviewing someone after they've just lost for some "content" is incredibly messed up
@@justno984 You must not watch many sports lol. It is completely standard after football, tennis games and the like for both parties to be interviewed to get their thoughts. It is not merely "content" it is potentially informative and educational. Maybe even the players themselves would like to discuss what the issues were and how they could have improved, and have the opportunity to air any grievances they had with certain things.
@@PhatInAHat I don't care what sport it is, no one likes a camera and microphone to be put into their face after they've just lost, pls stop🤦♂️
@@justno984 Well it's basically every sport. Also, how do you know they don't? Some people like to talk or to explain things. Some people might not mind. They could have at least checked with each player off camera afterwards if they'd be fine with sharing a few words - I doubt they would have all turned it down. Debre for instance seems to love the camera, I reckon he'll have actively been wanting to speak after his game but didn't get the chance.
The signs tell the exact place 7:36:26 "Welcome to the Buritaca River cabins" 7:36:42 "outing to the beach" I am from Colombia, those beaches are paradise

I´ve watched every match and i must say the entertainment was TOP. Every match was unique and amazing. Congrats to the winner Topotic and congrats to Kratsooo for 2nd plplace! Thanks to every participant and also shout out to the wonderful Team for your outstanding commentary.
07:43:35 it's when rainbolt know more about the place than 2 finalist
Almost half a million views is insane!!
honestly it deserves more. it's really interesting and fun. I actually watched the entire thing (skipped the counters of course)
It was sickening how Chat treated Topotic and Finbarr based on their appearance. They were very shy in front of the camera and were not photogenic. English was not their first language. At the end of the day, the bullies are simply jealous of their success.
debre UAE switch, to locking jakarta on round 10… gonna go down in geoguessr history as one of the craziest throws i’m ngl😭
@@Tridentor yeah idk why he switched… if he was right it would’ve been a crazy moment but if he was wrong it was the biggest throw, and unfortunately he was wrong, but you never go uae there
It was also Southern Hemisphere..
Rainbolt is just the goat 7:43:51
that one was crazy
Congrats Topotic, you deserved it and you played really well tbh
Really wished they used zigzag on the call more towards the end. Rainbolt is the absolute goat at calling out countries instantly, but zigzag is just such a fantastic all around caster. My man rainbolt was definitely running out of steam at the end there.. Should definitely try out rainbolt + zigzag as well.
Also what the hell was that award presentation? Help my man Topotic out a bit, jeez. Please try to accommodate people a bit better at worlds... really tough watch for a few minutes there and chat was being really mean.
Regardless, it was a fantastic tournament and congrats Topotic!
Agreed, I felt so bad for him, especially bcuz of the chat.Grow up people.
I really like rainbolt when he's doing his tourneys or the daily challenges or whatever but in the slightly more repetitive and constrained environment of this commentary I think zigzag is miles better actually. He's dropping a lot of specific knowledge and entertaining detail. Rainbolt brings maximum charisma but struggles to get the words out sometimes I feel.
Yeah, I think it's hard on anyone to have them call that many games and expect them to come up with something unique to say every time. I'm glad they gave Oscar and Gavin a turn and hope to see more variety in the future so we can appreciate all their different perspectives. I'm also curious about who's going to be on the desk for the A/P tournament without Oscar.
Rainbolt is the man and always will be for making Geoguessr what it is today (no slight to GeoWizard or others). But sometimes the jokes with Pala fell pretty flat. Zigzag was also great but then what do you do with Rainbolt? Bottom line, if anyone at geoguessr is reading this, please more *Toby* less Pala.
@@dgmullin1 I loved rainbolt in this competition. He threw a lot of info, giving good clues, saying which rounds are free and which ones are the "intense" ones. Is like a chess comentator, you want someone who can explain to the normal audience what is happening
Love Rainbolt but tbh liked Zigzags commentary better. I am a low-mid skilled player and I kinda got annoyed by Rainbolt calling out the country at the start of each round immideately. Zigzag pointed at hints and slowly came to saying the country.
Agreed, Rainbolt could at least give us a few seconds to process the picture.
I feel like ZigZags commentary gave enough context so the rounds got more interesting, because you could see the players finding or not finding the same hints. So it was a much better watch.
Side effect of this is that you have less opportunities to repeat the same phrases over and over again.
Both are awesome, but I liked Zi8gzag's commentry over Rainbolts to, however this is something I never really picked up on or payed attention to, but now it's all I'm noticing lol.
Rainbolt doesn't talk to the other commentator, it's like he is having a monolog. Makes it hard to listen to :/ I think he makes better commentary as a solo commentary.
I like the Rainbolt callouts
How and why did they not interview the two tournament favourites in Consus and Blinky after they got knocked out in the QFs to find out their thoughts on what went wrong? Missed Debre as well. It's not as if they didn't have 2 minutes spare for each! They really dropped the ball on that one - it seemed a both interesting and necessary thing to do. Sort it out.
There's always ways to improve. I mean it's the second world cup ever and I think we got a pretty high production level already. But I agree indeed, that especially these interviews would've been really interesting!
Well, in the last world cup they interviewed the ones who loses? (I really dont know), if not, I think winning the favourites will be a bit of favouritism. Maybe the rules were already stablished, only interviewing the winners 2 mins
INSANE FINALS OMG THAT AUSTRALIA!!!!
Fantastic. Taken me a week to catch up as I have not had much free time lately and been avoiding any discords or streams in case of spoilers. Topotic is an amazing winner, Great for Spain! And when Gorka is 18 and can take part, there'll be even more Spanish competition, some of his guesses on Rainbolt's challenges have been absolutely insane. Great show, I would suggest for 2025 that maybe the best Middle Eastern and best African player get invited even if technically they are not in the best 16, just to make it more inclusive. You know, like football world cups and Olympics etc do.
Quarter Finals being only best of 3 felt a bit harsh and insufficient.
True, Consus and Blinky might actually benefit from having an extra moving and no move round.
@@frezoren5761 Well, the essence of this game is no moving, because moving only benefits the one who finds a sign first, not the one who knows more landscaping, region guessing, etc.
@@lucianorodriguez7726 I would say the ability of getting to the info quicker and knowing what info to use is equally as essential. You could reach a sign earlier and still not be able to benefit from them if your country's subdivisons knowledge are subpar. Why settle for mere region guessing when you could have information that can bring you specifically to a city and guarantees you 4990+ points?
i think that it would be a little better if the casters didn’t say where they think the location is until the round actually starts. that way people watching have a little bit of time to make a guess
Im so happy for Topotic🎉❤ Well deserved victory, he delivered to me a huge amount of joy throughout the tournament❤
Dammit you spoiled the video for me 😭
@@katarinamarcijasz9777 im sorry 🫣😂
@@katarinamarcijasz9777 man, you NEVER go to comment section in a vid like this. In any type of competition. You deserve the spoiler. I dont even look at the time left of the vid because it can spoil me if someone wins fast or not
I never felt so entertained to see eight strangers playing a game. What a good format this game has
Mano o cara simplesmente acertou o ACRE, eu que moro aqui, talvez nem acertasse, o cara que é francês, cravou kssksksk
Fiquei feliz de ver meu estado sendo representado no mundial

I like that Rainbolt tells us what country we’re in, but I especially liked when he told us why!! I am not a geoguessr player, but this is absolutely fascinating. An incredible and unique skill, and truly riveting play!
Congrats Topotic that was crazy!!! Congrats to the Geoguessr team despite a couple hiccups it’s a really well-produced event. To me Rainbolt makes this entire event though, absolute gem.
I have never been less intimidated in my life than when Finbarr glared down the camera after round 2
Timestamp?
I was really impressed by how Toby kept bringing up references to how players performed on previous days. He was obviously paying close attention and has a better memory than I do. That was really impressive for someone who I assume didn't know these players beforehand.
so sad to see lennli not make it :((
Got cooked by CROOKST 👨🏻🍳
Bro gave a long long stare at cam at first win then couldn't win a single game after that lmao
Maybe he is still in contention for a wildcard
@@elirome6978 Kinda unfair that way since he already had a chance to qualify. Though I hope he gets a gig at co-casting/as an analyst!
Well this was insane
Shoutout to rainbolt for guessing Brasil at 1:12:00
literally the goat
7:33:05 Absurd that in the grand finals there is a place I live really close by, I go by that road probably 10 times a week!! Super fun tournament!!
Oke i will follow you👻
Congrats to Topotic!
7:43:51 whys rainbolt commenting instead of competing?
These non expert casters can be fine, but when Rainbolt and ZigZag are cooking, there need to let them cook.
2:59:30 - The Kodiak vs Mada round 10 moving game in Oz. ZigZag knew the exact location and whilst trying to explain it, Tobi shut him down. Then when told that Mada is in the wrong state and he’s about to lose and ZigZag is hyping it up, “THIS IS GAME!!!” Tobi: “… but who will come out victorious?” ….. uh. Kodiak. Duh! Listen to the expert, get hype with him and stop being a buzzkill.
Look, I’m not the type to pick up the pitchfork since don’t like seeing people lose jobs or responsibilities in those jobs since that stuff is important to people, but I just can’t help wondering how much better these moments would be if Rainbolt and ZigZag were casting together.
If the reason they put an expert with a noob is because they wanted someone the audience can relate to, then it’s not working. We’re here to watch smart guys pop off, so we don’t want to listen to dumb guys who have no clue what’s going on.
If the reason was because they weren’t sure how well untested casters could commentate a LAN event, then I hope it’s clear to them now that ZigZag and Rainbolt are charismatic and know what they’re doing. I mean, they should’ve know this from the start! The reason why they’re by far the two biggest Geoguesser youtubers is because of their charisma, and they’ve commentated plenty of online tournaments in the past.
Just started watching geoguesser content/ competitive play in the past few weeks. Looking forward to the world cup!
Oscar and Toby are my favorite casting duo.
Topotic is such a sweet soul
these are the type of people that would be hired by intelligence agencies...holy shit... it's quite unfathomable to think this is even possible with their degree of accuracy with minimal info and outside technological help (like AI and algorithms other computer programs/apps etc.)
They could be thrown at some random forest and not get lost cause they'll recognize it's vietnamese stones
its really not that hard. after you play and practice actively many times its really easy. you just have to put the effort in to practice.
so many goats got cooked here I had to google a goat meat recipe
GG Topotic 🎉
Loved it! Great players, games, and commentary.
One piece of feedback: can all casters/desk standardize pronunciation of player names? ex: kratsou vs kratsoh
Only real issue I had was the end, the championship presentation, geoguessr really dropped the ball there and made it awkward as all hell.
Why does a guy walk in with the prize and WORDLESSLY hands it to the champ, then walks off again and the champ just has to stand there, like WHAT? You can do this in a team sport because then the players have each other. But imagine in tennis or chess if the winner was silently handed a trophy and then left to stand around alone for a minute. Bizarre.
This is incredibly cool and well made. Big thanks to all the players, all super smart dudes and the organizers for putting together this wonderful tournament staffed with great presenters and commentators. As a casual GeoGuessr player and first time tournament watcher, I am looking forward to the finals in September. Good game and God bless!
Lol those slo-mo super closeup shots are hilarious 😂 zooming in on all the pimples 😂
I’m from Ukraine and when in the 2nd game it appeared, I was like DiCaprio in a meme - oh oh it’s Ukraine it’s Ukraine, I recognize the traditional house decoration and fences of Ternopil region! That’s pretty much all my knowledge on geoguessr, Im not a pro and I only play Europe/Ua 😆
Debre sold like the seahawks on the 1 yard line
You two commentators are great. You clearly learn how to work with each other as the show goes on. You also adapted the program a bit as the day progressed. Fantastic.
I really dont like that Trevor mentions his guess right away. We are all fans and perhaps players… give us a chance to play along. Besides that, it was a great final!!
@3:40:52 I think its better if the pro casters dont say the place 0.1 seconds after it comes up. Just better for viewing i think. @3:46:34 Actually Rainbolt adjusted here, he is very smart.
Great tournament but please standardize what happens during “technical difficulties” issues. Why did some games start over entirely when others picked up from the round that was messed up? Also can you PLEASE PLEASE 🙏🏻 tell Pala to stop trying to make “AZ” for auto zoom a thing?? It’s cringe and doesn’t work.
Zigzag is my favorite commentator
Im here because of 7:34:55 ! Wow, how they found a place!!
2:49:05 😂😂😂
Just had to read what’s on the building
Omg the last nmpz round with blinky 😢😮
the end of Debre vs Finbar NM game is missing?
pala being a commentator outside of counter strike is so cool
Kratsooo's antartica "guess" was still better than Topotic's east iceland guess lmaooo
Watched it all! Blinky is by far the best player here! I was disappointed that he got out, I wanted to see a few more rounds of his gameplay!
Debre was throwing hard against Finbarr.
That was certainly a paid actor moment.
He did say he wanted Finbarr to win
The yelling and the lack of handshake after that match and Oscar consoling Finbarr "it's not your fault, bro" 😂
1:08:20, 1:37:30 Consus missed Netherlands and Debre missed Hungary are peak moments
I‘ve been to the exact place in southafrica that was in the kodiak vs kratsooo game (game 1 round 5 move). Always feels crazy when that happens!!
guy can tell the country's spot from just a bush and a gravestone, insane!
practice bro practice
In the hindsight, today was arguably the wildest day for the game with Consus and Blinky (the best 2 players in the world) getting eliminated in the quarterfinals itself. However, the two giant slayers, Topotic and Kratsoo did reach the grandfinals with Topotic, who defeated the world champion, taking the crown. Seems pretty normal now, eh? Congrats Spaniard! World Cup is gonna be fun.
Saat landscape Indonesia ditunjukkan, disini jadi paham kenapa para top player bisa nebak dengan akurat. mereka paham ciri khas setiap lingkungan di negara.
After coming into this space without any prior knowledge and watching all 3 days of EMEA I can say I have a new hobby for sure! This is surprisingly entertaining and I was so invested! (my bf said it's boring, but what does he know, right?).
My only issue has been with the commentators that are very obviously not familiar with the game. Much better to have had someone just as knowledgeable and experienced as Rainbolt with him, then the commentary would actually be useful instead of all the empty filler which got boring and annoying real fast.
Personally I love that he says what location it is immediately, even better when he says why for people like me to understand what it is they see.
7:43:29 final NMPZ.. rainbolt says theres an aussie sign in the bg? but i can't see one.. or did he mean 'power pole'? That was an insane moment.
Congratz for my all Latvian GOATS 🇱🇻 🇱🇻 🇱🇻
this is so cool, one of my favorite new esports to watch
Happy for topotic! Great broadcast
topotic the goat
Respect to all who play at this level.
Book mark 7:37:08
I don’t even know how I just found this shit but this is pretty interesting for some reason lol
is this tournament an european geoguessr world cup and not the world cup itself, right? is that it?
moreover, why do they not interview the players who lose the matches? I mean, what happened to Blink in that colombia guess? that was the ''biggest'' moment of the whole video and we don't have a word from him. That's bad
Its European qualifier, the World Cup is in September
I think the broadcast could really be improved if there’s like a 10 second break where the hosts click around the upcoming round so we can be introduced to it and make a guess and then watch what the players do. Similar to other esports where the maps are introduced and everything
Also, geogussr is so volatile, gotta add more rounds so the better player actually wins.
52:54 the way his eyes keep moving to scan everything feels so unsettling...
Seriously can we not get spoiled instantly when Rainbolt sees the location, theres literally no fun for viewers
I really liked the comment tho and I am a viewer
Now Kratsooo is definitely the #1 moving player in the world.
I mean Blinky is objectively the best moving player in the world. This format is just bad for moving and hard to be consistent but over a larger sample size Blinky is better.
A repeat of this performance in the World Cup, only then Im ready to have this conversation
Don't get me wrong, Kratsoo is a very good moving player. I would say top 5.
@@Mzert2755 I definitely agree. But I need a consistent showing for me to put him at #1
Damage multiplier should be in the middle because it apply to both players.
Somehow i actually guessed one right while watching along with this.
Indonesia,.. 1:59:00 Pekalongan Rumah halamanku
7:51:06 Socal Credits -10000000000000
I only watched the final. I wish the commentators said why it is "so clearly" a specific country.
Metadata, lots of metadata in photo... Colors of Google cars, generation cameras, country infrastructure... You need to play Geoguessr and you will know...
What a level, these guys are amazing.
Zigzag seems to be a functional human being so no wonder they kept him at the desk, where actual sentences need to be formed, not just random gen z slang on repeat, but it would be great if he could cast more actual games, same for Chicagogeo. The clueless Pala getting names and points wrong half the time and captain rain "this is content" bolt duo gets old fast.
Also isn't it great how they've slapped the same generic e-sports coverage setup on this as any other game (CS go, Starcraft 2,...) meaning an analysis desk, a caster duo, dramatic tension music, victory music, quick round of questions,...BUT these particular nerds are reaching new levels of social awkwardness, each bringing their own brand of autism, from the fast-paced fill-the-void-with-words of Debre to the "I hope I'm still invisible" of Topotic. And yet they are such geniuses, all of them.
Reminds me of early days Serral in Starcraft 2, paralysed at the idea of talking to a girl on stage for the interview. Then he started winning and with that came more confidence, now he's cracking jokes and everything.
7:43:50
Reinbold is really that good.
God damn too many spoilers in the comments :(
Why do I read comments before finnishing the video.
5k is like 2 month rent…
7:41:53
these few seconds made me crack up, i don't know if he's just nervous or if it's autism or what
