Good afternoon. The purpose of this comment is to say, Thank you adamantly for uploading this video." It saved me frustration, tech support phone calls to Asus and B&H Superstore! I bought an Asus VS247H 23.6" monitor 2 days ago ... it refused to "automatically" wake from sleep mode (as quite a few customers uploaded their RUclips videos/complained of the same issue), and had hairline scratches on it. I returned it this morning for the Asus VS248H-P 24" monitor ... NO SLEEP MODE ISSUES nor scratches. I plugged in my new Logitech G230 headphones into the monitor ... NO SOUND. Thanks to your video ... EVERYTHING is working in sync. Have a great day.

1) As of Sunday 12th July 2020, I tried it on my desktop with Windows 7 64 Bit and Realtek HD Audio Driver.
2) It was absolutely a breeze and both my Headphones and Speakers have started playing together.

I have Realtek HD in my motherboard and this works great, without USB headphones. When I plugged in my headphones into the front of the machine, I just said that they were Front speakers, and now I have both volumes. Awesome, thanks!

But the issue that has no solution is how to prevent the delay between the attached devices sound is not synced correctly between the audio devices!

i have windows 7 and found a fix on some website. for those who still cant fix theirs.
just roll back driver in device manager.
here are the steps
1- right click on "my computer" and click properties.
2- click on device manager.
3- click on "sound, video and game controllers"
4- click on "high " definition audio device" . it is my default audio device. maybe yours could have a different name. just click it
5- click on "driver"
6- click "roll back driver" , then you will need an immediate restart. worked for me. hope it helps

kc dodds If it's not there under the "Recording device" tab, right click on a blank area in the tab and make sure that "Show Disabled Devices" has a check mark by it. Hope that helps!
I'm running windows 8, and for some reason I went to the list of audio devices, I have my headphones plugged in too. The only thing that showed was the speakers, it wasn't showing my headphones. Also, half the audio is directed through the headphones, the other half the speakers, so whenever I want to listen to something with my headphones, people around me can hear it through my speakers. I do not know what the problem is, please help me.

Tyler Loupis If Stereo mix isn't there under the "Recording device" tab, right click on a blank area in the tab and make sure that "Show Disabled Devices" has a check mark by it. Hope that helps!

Sean Porter My bad, I misread the problem, that doesn't mean you have to be a jerk about it though. but we're on the internet, so I don't know why I was expecting people to be nice about it.
If you have Realtek HD audio manager you may need to go into that, top right you'll see Device advanced settings, click that then change playback device from "mute the rear output devices, when a front headphone plugged in", to "Make front and rear devices playback two different audio streams simultaneously"
I have to constantly do this whenever windows does a full system update
Holy crap thank you so much, this helped me fix my issues when recording games, it allowed me to recording full volume on games without bursting my ear drums on my headset because the volume on my headset became independant from the system itself.

Worked great for me using Windows 10 - Only difference is that in the Volume Mixer, the second set of speakers was now in a dropdown over the "speaker" item, instead of shown automatically in the horizontal list.

Hmm...Sorry for the late reply...first update your sound card drivers. If that doesn't work, try to check if your sound card actually supports "stereo mix" (research your sound card).

You have to put everything back to what it was originally. Then turn off your computer. Turn it back on and then follow the video instructions again and it will work.
I forgot to update. I was able to make it work again. I think I ended up fiddling with some setting that caused it to not work but it's working again fine.

if anyone has only speakers shown he has to set it in the realtek HD settings so the computer shows the speakers and the headset and if you don't have a stereo mix shown just install the soundcart driver then restart your computer
Omg this works for me! What I did was Playback device, then recording tab, then disable [Mic in at Front Panel BLACK]

Well they both show up as they should, but nothing coming through headphones. It pings when I adjust the volume, so I know they work, but it won't let me play through speakers and headphones at once.

Did you right click and make sure "Show disabled devices" was checked? If it is not checked, then just check it and you will see it. If that does not work, try update your sound card drivers.
