@@progressivepondkeeping have to bowl it up. I'm not even in the running for best growth with mine, or best quality as the body shape is well off on mine. But still fun seeing them all grow
@@dannycurrie1 yeah mate will do I e got to net a few out anyway so will get some photos and video. Mines only small but I really like the pattern 4 step and good white and red
Thanks buddy. Heat makes a massive difference to the growth for sure. Hopefully the showa dose well this year. Bet you can't wait to get your new pond finished and up and running
The doitsu chag from Cuttelbrook is a beast an is not even 2 years old! He is stunning. The ginrin chag that was caught in your drum has proper grown too! The new shows looks really good Danny, he definitely has a great body already
Thanks, that doitsu chag is an amazing fish, I'm so happy with it. They have all grown well this year. I'm hopeful of even more growth through the summer. We will see. Hopefully my electric prices don't go silly and u can keep the heat up high this season 🤞
Glad you are on the mend👍😊. Fish are looking good despite a touch of carp pox👍😊. Beautiful ISA Showa, soon started feeding👏👍. Look forward to seeing the review of your drum filter👍🐟🈲😊
Cheers buddy. I'm well impressed with it. Going to start raising my temps again over the next few weeks now. Hopefully the carp pox will go. The drums been faultless the last 6 months, need to do another video because I kind of slagged it off before without really giving it a fair trial.
Your grow and show is in a totally different league to mine. Much better frame. You done brilliantly with yours. No way I'm winning any prizes. I unfortunately came out late in the draw and didn't get to choose it myself. Still a nice fish though. Will see how it ends up
Cheers mate. We were both alot more ill than we thought we would be. Both had our 3 jabs. But glad to be over it now. That kohaku has done alot of growing outwards, need to go for some length now or i dear it will forever look like a rugby ball 🏉
Thanks, fingers crossed springs not too far away, it's starting now for my fish, heaters gone up 1 degree today. Covid has really knocked me for 6 this last 2 weeks, despite having 3 jabs, still testing positive but my isolating ends tomorrow thank god. It's been nice to spend plenty of time with the fish in the daylight for a change though.
Soon there will be a test for koivid 😕😅🤣 But Dan some nice koi and also wondered why you didn't keep pond heated specially as you got a heavy duty ASHP & the isa Showa has a nice head pattern forming.👍🏻
It was my first winter with the ashp. I gradually brought it down so give them a bit of a winter. Was concerned how much it would cost. It's not cost anywhere near as much as I thought and I'm going to slowly bring it back up now. Hopefully keep them at 23/24 degrees most of the summer
New Showa has a great head pattern, looks like it’s going to be a great fish. My fish definitely prefer sinking food, but there’s not a lot of choice, particularly from NTLabs. Stay safe and well 👍🏻
Thanks. I think it's got some potential. Hopefully it grows well. Definitely a market for a decent sinking food. Not found one I'm 100% happy with yet. The hikari dose seem to produce a fair bit of waste. Doesn't cloud the water atleast though
Looking good Dan God all your koi have put some weight on and the g&s is doing well better than ours lol you new showa looks good nice body shape 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You will have to get a photo of yours in the bowl some point. Mine needs to slim down a bit and focus on length. Will see how it turns out. Pretty sure I won't be winning but it's good fun. I got high hopes for the showa. It's been eating well today, hopefully it grows :)
Cracking showa Danny, will be awesome when the Sumi fully comes through 👍 rest of the fish look in great shape too. Glad to see this ASHP has been performing well after the other one let you down. I'm on the verge of whipping the Plastic out of the wallet for one, I think I'm just waiting for something to tip me over the edge😂
As it turned out there was nothing wrong with my original heat pump. It was actually the cheap power meter I was using was restricting the voltage to the unit. The second one hasn't missed a beat since I removed it and I wouldn't have had an issue with the first one if it wasn't for that. I would 100% recommend buying one mate. There customer service is second to none. When I did have to call them it was at 7am on a Sunday and they got an engineer on the phone to me within 10 mins.
@@UpNorthKoiPond obviously I can only speak for the remora one but I'd definitely recommend it. It's quite a bit smaller than the thermotec one aswell. That said, you never hear a bad word about thermotec. When I was looking I was torn, it came down to this was in stock and the thermotec wearnt
Yes, still hear. Nothing much happening with the pond so not put anything out. Hopefully do some more regular videos in the spring. Got a few plans for the pond. Everything alright your end?
Absolutely beautiful fish, came across your channel has I'm new to koi, only started late August last year, love the size of your fish.what was the name of the sinking fish food you use please? have you got the link? Do you ever sell any of your fish? New subscriber
Thanks for subscribing. It's great hobby, your fish will be that big too Within a year or too I'm sure. That sinking food is hikari wheatgerm sinking, I think it's only available in a 15lg sack. I normally use a higher protein coppens food in the summer which I do normally sell though the channel so keep an eye out for that. I don't sell fish very often than be honest. Might have a couple of smaller ones I'll move on in the spring but not too sure yet. I'll post it on the channel if there is ever any I'm selling
