My heart is aching today as I’ve learned that precious family members have chosen o throw in the towel Gospel wise and marriage. They have studied the “truth” and have come to acknowledge that they are not going to fake their Church activity. Family members that I would never have thought would allow themselves to get sucked into the vortex of lies that are blasted everywhere everyday are now actively trying to get me to buy into the garbage that is spewing from the anti’s. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know Jesus is the Christ. I know this is His Church. I will stand strong. I choose to stay in the boat and pray everyday that Satan and is minions will be kept far behind me. I choose to follow our Prophet knowing he is the spokesperson for Jesus Christ.
Bless you my brother. What comes to me, as wonderful counsel about how to deal with this sad situation, is found in these words from President Nelson's "Think Celestial" and from Paul's words from Hebrews 2:1-3: "Think Celestial"! As you think celestial, you will view trials and opposition in a new light. When someone you love attacks truth, think celestial and don't question your testimony. The apostle Paul prophesied that “in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.” There is no end to the adversary’s deceptions. Please be prepared. Never take counsel from those who do not believe. Seek guidance from voices you can trust- from prophets, seers, and revelators, and from the whisperings of the Holy Ghost who “will show unto you the things what ye should do.” Please do the spiritual work to increase your capacity to receive personal revelation. As you think celestial, your faith will increase. Hebrews 2:1-3: "Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. 2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; 3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?" Much love, David
David, this is my favorite video yet. The next one about the 4 different visions is great also. Thank you for denouncing deception. I've listened to this and the other video 10x or more and keep coming back! Finally, after months I feel spiritual again.
I had the opportunity this past week of visiting the temple twice with my newly endowed niece. It was the busiest I've ever seen it on Saturday, with crowds of people in the lounge, the waiting room and the foyer. As I stood in the lounge waiting for my niece to dress, I looked around at the people. They all glowed with peace. Each and every one wore a smile. A few were speaking softly to others, but mostly they were just waiting on friends and loved ones like I was. But your words about being part of the Happy People came to my mind, and I realized, YES! WE ARE PART OF THE HAPPY PEOPLE!! It doesn't mean we never experience sadness or depression, trials or sickness, pain or tribulation. But we are happy, happy deep down in our souls! And it shows in our faces. Every face I looked into was filled with light! This is the glorious fruit of living the gospel of Jesus Christ! This is the fruit of faith, repentance, baptism and receiving and following the Holy Ghost. My temple, which is in Calgary, Alberta, has a wheat motif. I absolutely love that, because we know in the last days God will separate the wheat from the tares, and bring all the wheat into the garners. We, the happy people who are eating the fruit of the tree of life are the wheat, and the temple is the garner. My heart breaks for people like Tommy who is letting himself be a tare. I say 'letting himself' because the wonderful news is that being wheat is a choice! I pray that he and all those who are being deceived will turn and grasp the iron rod, and choose the beautiful fruit of the restoration. Honestly it all made me want to cheer! Yay for the fruit! Yay for the wheat! Yay for the love of God! Yay for the restoration! Hurrah for Israel!! I want to say keep on letting your light shine, David, and being wheat. But I have confidence that you don't need me to tell you that. Love you!
I work every Saturday night in the Gilbert Arizona Temple and it is a saying everyone is very happy to be there worshiping God I am feeling the spirit the Holy Spirit has the word and their relationship with Jesus Christ the Redeemer of the World. I’m so thankful for this opportunity to work in the house of the Lord, the one sacred place on earth …. temples that now dit the earth. much love… tv/az
@@dianetigert1310 yes! We are temples of God and when we all bring the Spirit which dwells in us into the Holy House of the Lord, the Spirit and joy is amplified!
I love your description of the detractors trying to throw you off the ark, into the storm-tossed sea where the sharks are eating away your legs! It's SO TRUE!! THANK YOU for your enthusiasm in defending the truthfulness of the gospel and for boldly denouncing Satan's subtle deceptions! I love your videos!
David, thank you for your content. I’ve been on the receiving end of false accusations that threw my life in a loop, but through those experiences I’ve come to understand that while we have more access to truth now than ever before, the adversary wants to counter that knowledge with more false information than he ever has before. He overloads, oversimplifies and overwhelms those seeking truth. It makes sense to me that evil would want to attack the most important revelations of our day. I fully believe the accusations directed at Joseph smith are designed to overload, oversimplify, and overwhelm. He was an imperfect man, but a man that helped bring people closer to our Savior and has personally given me a hope for the future. I know enough to fully believe that he was a prophet called of God and given the authority to share the fullness of the gospel in our day. Thank you David for dispelling some of that accusatory fog.
…and just when I thought that I couldn’t LOVE you more… powerful exercise of the Priesthood my worthy brother, powerful. I love you deeply for it. Jeff
I'm second counselor in my wards bishopric. I have a number of families who are just like your friends who have done "research" and have decided they were duped by the church. It's been a struggle to help them back because of the pride of their own eyes.when you get to Idaho, I'm finding you to take you to dinner! I don't care if it means a road trip. It will happen. You have the sort of testimony and reason that these families here need to hear! I appreciate your kind yet committed stance on things. Its what this world needs at this time. God bless you, brother! You have a work to do for the Lord. You are just beginning. It gets epic the further you get down the road. (Temple work) take care. Love you, man.
I would love that. It would be great to get these families together...and talk about all this stuff. I would love to meet you and yours. I am going to be in the Pocatello area. Much love, David PS. Heavenly Father honors and appreciates your selfless service to your Ward Family! I do also.
Thank you David, you’re so awesome, amazing and wonderful. I smiled and enjoyed all your videos. You explained the Church so simple and clearly because of your great bible knowledge. God works in mysterious ways, you were/ are definitely meant to join the Church at this time to help hasten the missionary work on Earth before the second coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Keep it up and bless you Brother Alexander.💖🙏✋
Thank you, David. I have seen loss of faith in my own family from those who have chosen to listen to "plausible liars." I am fortunate to never have doubted my faith and testimony of the restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I will never loosen my grip on the iron rod or allow those contrary voices to enter my mind or heart.
We give ourselves grace and we give early saints the same, The church and its people all the same, can repent, what a gift!!! The Book of Mormon is sure proof of Jesus and this movement. Hold onto this book and it will bring you joy. Full stop.
I don’t care if someone treats me like dirt, maybe if they do not feel good about themselves….I still keep my faith, and let them deal with what they said or did. They treated Jesus much worse, and look how good and wonderful he is.
Br Alexander, how do you manage to stay positive most of the time? Just curious. For so many of us, you have become an inspiration because of your faith, honesty, patience, graciousness and forgiveness granted to those who sling arrows your way. You get communication from folks in evangelical Christianity telling you how wrong you are, and hurl insults your way (which puts a bee in my bonnet quite honestly🥴), and then you get communication from Latter-Day Saints with "shaken faith syndrome" who bare their souls to you like you're supposed to be the Dear Abby for us Latter-Day Saints, I certainly don't mean this in a deragatory way. I do understand that they want to communicate to you looking for answers, or maybe as a means to try to justify their rebellion, or even to try to restore their faith because of the amazing faith you exude or because they look to you to either try to discredit you to try to bring you down, or they look to you for hope. Some try to bring you down, while some come to you to uplift them. In a way, you have an unofficial calling in The Church as a comforter. It can't always be easy to always be up, and I know that I'm not alone in feeling protective of you, not that you aren't capable of defending yourself or your stances, but because you're still fairly a new member in The Church. We have never met, but I am your true friend in Christ and I'm so grateful that you have made true friendships through your channel and have a big support system. I take great joy in your happiness! It can't be easy to feel other's burdens with the genuine love you have in your heart for people and not let it get to you sometimes. Just wanted to thank you for your channel. For those who have or are losing their way, please remember that there are so many more of us who come to this channel to share our joy and love of the restored gospel. We have strong and resilient testimonies, we know who we are, and what we stand for. They can slander us and our beliefs and deluge us with "irrefutable facts", but we have joy in our hearts, firm foundations, and gratitude in our souls - despite our trials. You are, Br Alexander, quite simply put, very awesome and very much loved. We are so blessed to have you amongst us.
It's because he has been on the other side for so long and now sees them as an enemy to God. To many of us, apologize for being God's people and want to fit into their world. Some of us just need to grow some stones and stand up and defend the truth for what it is.
Every day I wake up and try to remember to look at the sky and horizon and sincerely thank God for my life on earth. It always gives me fuzzy's inside from the spirit's reply "you're welcome, have a great day my son".
@@hagueie"fit into their world". The Protestants will never let us into their club. We don't need them for us to move forward anyway. We should double down on everything they object about. We're looking for the sincere and broken-hearted not the proud and conceited.
That was a great tribute to David . He does a really good job trying to help out some of the saints that have weak testimonies . He does a great job . Like a dear Abbey . It’s hillarious but also very spiritual too. I think he does help a lot . Then of course he will be attacked by evangelicals . Yes I see how the internet is the great And spacious building . I am one of those that was crushed over and over again, like David, for years upon years waiting to find what I too, have been introduced to through seeking the Truth and fullness of the gospel LIVE in a body of United believers, into the True Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 🎉
I am in my final year of completing a Bachelor of Theology Degree from a school outside of the Church of Jesus Christ. While in my 2/3rd year I was led to this church. Beautiful people at my school with part of the truth. I love them each. I’m grateful and thankful to God for fulfilling His promise of what happens when we keep seeking. Humility is a key to finding success, yes even with God.
About 30 years ago I chose to leave the Church for various reasons. One reason was reading a book by the Tanners. When I read that book, I knew that much of what they wrote about the history of the church was true. That wasn't what bothered me ad much as feeling the church had been "hiding" things which made me think that those things must be bad. If the history was so bad that it had to be hidden, then that me question the truth of the Church. Soon there after I met and married my nonmember husband. I didn't feel bitter or the need to try to destroy their faith. I went to different churches with my husband and as much as I tried to "join" in those other churches, there just enough there. Sure, sometimes I learned things, but they never quite seemed to go far enough. A year and a half ago, I had a desire to go back to the Church. When I decided that was what I needed to do, we were on vacation for 4 months. When I got home I planned to start going to church. However, within the week, two senior missionaries came to my house! So I started meeting with them regularly and going to church. I asked my questions and finally came to understand that humans make mistakes, even prophets and apostles. This was true in the Bible and in the history of the church. It became obvious through the spirit that it was my job to seek Jesus, not judge others. That includes historical people. I could never find what I needed in any other church. It was because it wasn't there. I finally found the faith to trust that God does forgive and there is no sin that he won't forgive. Since I now believe and feel that he has forgiven me, I have felt the inner joy I used to have when I was young before guilt and anti Church information caused me to choose to leave the Church. Your emphasis on looking at the fruit really resonates with me. I have come to find that the history doesn't seem so dark to me. I think that the Church should feel proud that despite errors, Christ still chose to restore the authority!
Amen! To everything you expressed, thank you! Thank you for your conviction to the truths you have embraced and are sharing with the world and thank you for your strong testimony! 👏 👏 👏 👏 ❤
yuk is right! So sad for Tommy. I see it happening everywhere but have to remind myself there are many more who still believe the gospel and have amazing testimonies.
I experienced that too: I got baptized multiple times because I knew there was more to the power I had only experienced to date. I’m baptized in the church by the proper priesthood authority now, and that’s awesome. 🎉
I remember as a young adult a good friend said with a tear in his eye how it grieved him to know that i was headding down the path to hell. I asked him a number of questions. Starting with asking what happens to your soul if you commit sin. Starting with a simple lie and asking about the many ways he could sin and still be saved, eventually ending with the most wicked sins imaginable. My last question was this: "Jesus Christ is my redeemer, my Lord and Savior and my only way to the Father, His only begotten was sent to this world to save us from the wages of sin. Yet you tell me that there is one sin so wicked, so un thinkable and grevious that even God, the Great redeemer cant forgive, worse than everything i listed". He said "yea? What sin would that be"? I said "Well joining the Mormon Church of course, by your claim is the second unpardonable sin". He admitted it was a great question and changed the subject. Judge not lest ye be judged with the same.... May the Lord have mercy even on those who judge his servents so ignorantly.
@@kevinedward118 Read the BoM and VoTH simultaneously and pray sincerely about both. As a member of over 60 years, I recommend all members read VoTH and understand its place. It's a harmless read, being published 7 years before the BoM and the church, and contains nothing anti-LDS in it. There is also nothing copied - that's a lie to dupe those not willing to read.
Keep on keeping on. Those who leave will never find what this gospel offers them. There are so many facets of this Gospel which are so beautiful. I always feel the spirit so strong when I listen to your. You were foreordained for this time. Thank you for using your voice! This particular video is so needed right now and follows this doctrine: D&C 121:43- Reproving betimes with sharpness, when moved upon by the Holy Ghost; and then showing forth afterwards an increase of love toward him whom thou hast reproved, lest he esteem thee to be his enemy” Thank you
Absolutely hit the nail on the head with this one, David! I've read a lot of these "true history" claims and they're full of bias and deceit, for the sake of deceit. I've been involved in an alternate social media site and, out of complete frustration with these types of people, I created my own group for church members with clear and specific expectations where they're not allowed to spew their vileness. Guess what? I took away their podium and they eventually stopped posting on the social media site completely. They were there to decieve. It was their entire purpose. If we're in a situation where we're arguing with people who claim to be members of the church about the truthfulness of the church then I would recommend disengaging with them and engaging with the scriptures. We can't live on borrowed light and we can't navigate this world without the Holy Spirit. Those who get snared by these arguments haven't touched their scriptures.

The more I have thought about this topic the more appreciative I am that I don’t jump out of the boat every time I hear slander from people who have left or about to. THINK. Think hard about what has happened throughout ALL time. I mean look at now, what is happening in our country. People accuse our founding fathers for this and that. They want to tear down statues of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves and 100% made all men definitely EQUAL. They want to tear him down bc of a historical fact in some nature being torn to pieces and examined under a microscope. But look he freed all people from slavery! People are even accusing the pilgrims of stealing corn from the Indians when they first came to the Americas. We do t know exactly what happened we can’t ask them but I do know this: The Indians were there to help. We’re there bad people in the batch of historical figures? YES! But did freedom and equality come from that all? YES! Look at the Salem witch trials. That all started bc two little girls said something they didn’t understand ( I don’t remember the full story) people were not fully informed then on what it meant to really be an “evil witch” but people still followed their ignorance and it turned into something so evil. Satan had a hay day having innocent people murdered. Now we take the church. People doing their “research” trusting the voices jumping the boat bc people were HUMAN in those days. George Washington had slaves but that WAS the culture and there was a such thing as good slave owners who were kind to their slaves and even assisted in the Underground Railroad. There were BAD slave owners who were relentless and horrible beatings to those innocent people. The true story of any time in history has things in it that may look nefarious to us bc of changing times or the half truth whatever it might be. Look at all history. To you, you read about these stories and you think “Inwould have never fallen for those witch trials or even supported it or I would have looked at the staff to be healed by Moses, I wouldn’t have looked back at Sodom and Gumorah like Lotts wife. What if you read about history 300 years from now. Would you have thought “I never would have fallen for this or that” but people have because Satan knows how to do it. When you are in the midst of the voices in the tower Satan plays such mind games! But CHRIST MADE IT SIMPLE and clear for us. By their FRUITS ye shall know them. This guy and his letter. First of all his research was in vein. When I have a question I cannot answer I go to the lord. The people on the internet and RUclips that slander the church have bad fruits. I’ve seen it. John Delin is one of them. His daughter is confused and his co speaker on his channel advertises for sexual perversion and is vile to people who are in the gospel amongst other things. The people and leaders in the gospel of Jesus Christ have happy families, they are happy and they aren’t swayed with every wind of doctrine. Sorry this is long but I know how Tammy feels. I feel for you Tammy! My son left as well as some family members. They aren’t as relentless as your situation but MAN! My heart goes out to you. Hang in there. I wish I could hug you Tammy! I’m so proud of you! You are an example of other members who go through this as well. They think they need to inform us but really they know inside they are wrong and need to validate themselves each day. Anyways haha! This video hit home! When I listened to you David I felt like I was cheering at a football game listening to you😂 The church is glorious with all its flawed people. I think it was Dallin H Oaks who said “The lord works with flawed people, it must be frustrating but he deals with it”

Hi David I didn’t start out to write a book here but I just couldn’t stop.Hi David, thank you for making the videos and having the enthusiasm to try and combat all the garbage that people are getting sucked into! This is nothing new in the church and to anyone who is truly informed would realize that these tactics of the anti Latter Day Saints have been around from the very beginning of time. And is exactly what is taught in the Book of Mormon and the Bible. It is continuous cycle be God fearing people then being sucked into the worldliness that Satan tries to make look so good. In the Book of Mormon the Lamenites were always criticizing those who were trying to follow God and teaching the truth. And it is a cop out saying that you were misled. One of the things I was taught by my parents when I was a child is how important it is to work for what you get. My parents weren’t members of the church. In fact my parents were divorced when I was 14 years old. I was married when I was as 18, and vowed that I would never put my children through that kind of situation, and then at the age of 20 I was introduced to the church, and I didn’t want anything to do with it. So I decided to prove it was wrong. I looked into the beliefs and teachings of the church and tried to use the New Testament to prove it was false. What happened was when I studied through the New Testament what I kept finding was everything the church taught matched the teachings found in the Bible. I really hated the church and wanted nothing to do with it. The problem was after my efforts to prove it wrong I became so miserable because I realized I wasn’t fighting against the church, I was really fighting against God, and I was so miserable I couldn’t shake it; and I really didn’t want to join the church. The problem was I knew it had to be true, but I just couldn’t do anything about it. I knew if I did it was going to cause so much turmoil in my family; my wife had grown up in a very devoted Catholic family. My mother had joined the church a year earlier and I lived with my dad after they were divorced and he was so hurt after but the divorce I just felt like I couldn’t join the church even though I felt sure it had to be true. I talked to my wife and asked her to take the missionary lessons with me because I just didn’t know what to do because I felt so terrible about not doing what I knew God wanted me to do. She very hesitantly agreed to let them come one time, she did but one time and she didn’t want them to come back. I still couldn’t shake that feeling that I had to put God first, and I prayed and prayed trying to get an unmistakable answer nothing, so then I started second guessing and around and around I went. No peace of mind. So I decided I had to join the church no matter what. I told my sweet wife of my decision and she was so disappointed but I finally had peace of mind because I knew it was right. But the road was rough for a long time. I had mad a promise to my wife before we were married that we would raise our children in the Catholic Church. So I couldn’t break that vow, so I joined the church and I went there and my wife and kids went to the Catholic church every week. And this is how it was for ten years, finally after 10 years my wife and my two children were baptized. If you would ask my wife what changed her mind she would say because she saw how the gospel had made me into a better person. So I know that no one can feel true peace in there life by choosing to try and disprove the truthfulness of the church. It just can’t happen! If anyone has really felt the Holy Ghost testify to their soul that the church is the only true church you can’t blame anyone for not telling you everything from the history of the church. That lesson my parents taught me when I was young about having to work for everything is true about the gospel and our relationship with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. When you listen to anti crap, asked your Heavenly Father if the crap they are spewing is true. You can’t get a feeling of loving comfort from the Holy Ghost because it’s not true. But if you study the scripture and ponder and pray and ask yourself if the teachings of the church are in harmony with them. And do this with all the sincerity of your heart you and pray and have real faith you will know the truth. I bear you my testimony that I know beyond any doubt whatsoever that Jesus Christ is the founder and the leader of the church of Jesus Christ of latter days Saints first through the Prophet Joseph Smith and now through President Russell M Nelson. I have had so many absolute unmistakable witnesses of the love of God in such overwhelming feelings of absolute love and peace by living the gospel and struggling and working through hard times. And tell the world this in the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God lives he loves his children and He sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ to pay the price for the sins of the human family. I just want to say one more time that everyone has to put in the work to know the teachings of the church and the teachings of the scriptures, and put your trust in the Savior not in man. These people that are spewing this false gossip about the church. What are there teachings? They always say what the problems they say are in the roots of the church. But how do they propose why we need to do to get back into the presence of God! Find that out what are they doing better? If you leave the church where will you go. I love all the children of God and hope that anyone who reads this might seek the truth from the source. Ask your Heavenly Father to lead you to the truth and if you sincerely have the faith in Jesus Christ to live the his teachings you will know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is His Church and Kingdom on the earth. Jeff Hipps if you’re interested you can hear my testimony and conversation story on my RUclips channel which I have only had up for a short time I made it to share my testimony with my family and anyone who will listen. As we just read in Lehi's dream, that filthy river of water runs right alongside the path that leads to the tree of life. The only thing that separates the path is the rod of iron. One has to hold strong to the word of God through the scriptures and the modern prophets. It seems that everyone I know who has ever left, didn't just go from faithful to apostate, they let go of the iron rod first to look for life's answers in other places, instead of holding fast to the word of God, they listen to the lies being shouted from the great and spacious building be it the internet or Satan or wherever it comes from. It is critical to hold fast to the word of God. Some days you need to hold that rod with both hands. You called it perfectly when you said "Yuck" after reading that letter. That's the great a spacious building. If you notice the people in the great and spacious building, they aren't content with focusing on their life in the building. They fill that void by scoffing and pointing at those holding fast to the iron rod.
@@dr33776 Yes. Lucy Smith wrote down her recollection of Sr's Dream 15 years after the Book of Mormon was published. It's cool if he had that dream when Joseph was 5. It would be kind of awesome. The early history of the church is very much inspiring and NOT troubling at all. The early saints were the most humble and amazing people who have ever lived. They sacrificed EVERTHING.

It is not only those of who you speak of. There are those who profess to love the Lord and the Gospel and give way to the adversary. When you allow others to cast doubt into your heart or remove Christ as the focus of your life your desires change and pride and selfishness enter.
A testimony of the gospel has many dimensions to it❗ In my life l have gone to many churches, only to feel heartache and sorrow, because the restoration along with the sacred Temple ordinances we're completely missing ❗I always feel Satan's deception in other churches as he keeps God's children away from the power of eternal marriage,in hopes that millions upon millions of God's children will live in the influence of his darkness! It bothers me, when people can't trust you, to choose your own gospel, I'm a member of the church for many reasons. The spirit of God has witnessed to me that the church is true ❗ I have also had many spiritual experiences that cannot be denied ❗🕊️🙏🏻💖I have prayed about something in my life that was really bothering me, and as I went in to renew my Temple recommend,my Bishop asked if he could say a prayer for me, before he asked me the Temple interview questions. There were no other words spoken, other than me saying hello before the prayer. As l sat there listening to the word's he spoke, he mentioned everything l have been praying about, that we're only personal to me and my heart. Over the course of my life in the church this has happened to me countless times! When you continue your journey in the gospel it's truly important to remain humble, that our hearts and minds can stay open to God's teachings! I love the restored gospel, I feel God's love and his light 🕯️ in the church,I feel hope and the Profound Power of Sealings and all Temple ordiences , that so many of God's children are sadly living without or choosing to live without ❗I love my Heavenly Father, and I am forever thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ of latter day saints ❗🙏🏻🕊️💖🕯️
Brother Alexander, I am a convert who kind of backslid, but I totally believe that the Church is true and that President Nelson IS the Prophet and I believe and am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ 🙏 I'm really hanging on! I love your encouraging content and thank you! Thank God! I do have some deception to denounce, like within myself and I olan to talk to my Bishop and try to come up with a plan. I just wanted to kind of bare my soul here, because things are getting intense, and I just want to do the right thing and stop overthinking, or getting in my own way. But I'm hopeful! And I have faith!
Abraham Lincoln said- “Don’t believe everything you hear on the internet!” lol…. We MUST gain our own testimony from the Holy Ghost!! Hold firm to what is true and look at the fruits of this precious gospel!! All the stuff our dear friend Bro Alexander had discovered ! ❤
Follow the money. Have the thousands of teachers and leaders in he Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints made one penny of income from hours and hours of service in the church? What reason do they have to lie? On the other hand, how much money are the enemies of the Church making for their lies?
@@dr33776 what does a Bishop receive for increasing his congregation? What does the Pastor of an evangelical church receive for increasing his congregation?
@@dr33776 Your comment of the stipend does not paint a complete picture. The full-time ecclesiastical leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do receive a stipend. You are right. However, compared to total Church population, the number of general leaders is very, very small. I do not know the details, but I do know that for most of them, the stipend is much less than what they were making prior to their calling or what they could make in other employment. Moreover, it's believed that some who built personal wealth before being called as full-time leaders don't even take the stipend. Of course, there are non-ecclesiastical employees in the Church (full-time seminary instructors, university professors, IT professionals, curriculum writers, etc.), and they are paid. I was one of them for 18 years, and I left a promising career and took a 50% pay cut when I took that Church job. Most people who work for the Church are not in it for the money. And those who serve as local leaders and teachers of the Church are definitely not in it for the money because we receive no pay. I know many individuals who have served in the Church 10-20 hours per week-for decades-and have not received any pay or perks whatsoever. Many of these unselfish individuals are doctors, lawyers, engineers, or executives with very high earning power. Do the math and you will find many of them, over their lifetime, have donated time and effort that would far exceed $1 million given their professional pay rates. We do this because of our love of God and our fellow men. We are not perfect people, but we do give a lot, and that giving is a manifestation of our honesty and of our witness that the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, as taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is true. I would lovingly encourage you to let go of any bitter root that is in your heart. All the best.
@@dr33776 Don’t be a dork that only goes to the general authorities the tens of thousands of local authorities don’t make any money and the church wouldn’t run without the tens of thousands of local bishops and state presidents and branch presidents and release society leaders in Elders Coram presidents! Come on!!
Hi David, your are so right on people listen to the wrong people who have allowed Satan to get in the door. My daughter won't go because she says people are too judgemental. I tell her we go to feel the spirit. Ignore all the the talk. The people here in my ward I have never seen a judgemental person.
Bro. David, be careful with those beautiful and wonderful people who fall away from the truth. We love them, but they have listened to some emotional persuasion from no other than the great deceiver. I'm a convert myself and I know, that Heavenly Father has answered my search for the true church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true and living church of Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith is a true prophet and the Book of Mormon is the word of God, As well as the Bible. My brother in Christ, the Saints love you . Peace be with and thank you your amazing testimony of Jesus Christ and glorious conversion on the true church.
Hold to the rod and remember what is says in D&C 3: 1-3. This is the true church of Jesus Christ. We are living in the last days. Hold on to the iron rod. The battle for your soul is real brothers and sisters, you have the power to cast the evil forces out of your lives by being as faithful you can and obeying the commandments of God to the best of your abilities. There is Power in the name of Jesus. ❤
Isnt IT SO IRONIC THAT we are studying the first part of the book of Mormon and Lehis dream, and Nephis dream that, so clearly gives the story of the tree of life, and the people who came there, and took the FRUIT OF THE TREE, but then BECOME ashamed… And they wander OFF and lose their faith after partaking, so ironic !!!thank you for pointing this out again to us, and we must have strength and Faith and hope that someday they can be found again because they are beloved of God! too❤❤❤. another Tammy.
Yuck is right. My own son lost his faith and has removed himself not only from me, but from his siblings because he found out about the "true" history of the Church. Satan is working overtime to take anyone he can get. I'm hopeful that at sometime he will come to his senses and move back into the light. But for now he is a bitter and angry man that has darkness all around him. Thank you for shedding some light on this issue.
Part of the method for dissolving faith is misdirecting focus. People get tricked into believing that the church of Jesus Christ is obligated to teach, not the gospel of Jesus Christ, but the finer tangential points of the history of the restoration as interpreted by those who hate the church. And because it teaches the gospel of Jesus Christ instead, it must be dishonest, or hiding something. History is not what a church should be focused on. If you're going to investigate the history, don't be a lazy learner, look at both sides of the story.
@@kevinedward118 All of the above are red herrings which have been addressed ad nauseum. If you're groping desperately for alternative explanations, even the most dubious of options becomes "the real explanation". The church is so unintimidated by VoTH that they publish it themselves so saints can see that the similarities are few, and rather tenuous.
Also, the ANTIs and haters always try to tell us what our doctrine and history is (much taken out of context, half-truths, sensationalized, etc.). They'll say that the Church doesn't tell its members about its true doctrine and so-called history (according to ANTIs) They point their finger of accusation, and 3 fingers are pointed right back at them. They need to go look at their own history (much of it dark) When others come onto our faith’s pro faith channels and tear down, tell lies, tell half-truths, twist the truth, take things out of context, and throw false accusations and sensationalize the doctrine of the Church, its members, and its leaders, then they are ANTI LDS. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints don’t go onto others pro faith channels and tear down other Churches, accuse other Christians or non-Christians of going to hell, of being a cult, of being brainwashed, etc., etc., etc. We don’t go around trying to tell members of other churches or organizations of the many dark histories of their churches (or Founders) and organizations. Those that come unto our pro faith channels to try and tear down the Church, it’s members and leaders are here for one reason and it’s not to build faith, but to tear down faith. They are ANTI. Our leaders and members are not perfect. Many of these ANTIs should look into their own Churches (and/or Founders), organizations, countries, etc. history and they will find many dark histories of their own. Many of the things the ANTIs accuse us of, can be turned right back at them. Some examples: We are falsely accused of not telling our members of early Church history. Not true. In High School, I attended 4 years of Seminary, I attended Adult Institute Classes, I attended Religious Classes at BYU-Hawaii, We Studied Church History in Sunday School Classes and I’ve read and studied on my own early Church history (Polygamy, Mountain Meadows Massacre, Priesthood Restriction, etc.). Do Pastors and Ministers of other Churches tell their members of all the history in their Churches, of its founders, of its doctrine, etc., that they accuse us of. Many of them have their own dark history. When these ANTIs / non-LDS Christians point the finger at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, its members, and its leaders; 3 fingers are pointing right back at them. - Many Christian Churches in the early history of America were pro slavery and pro segregation (lynching). - Many Christian Leaders had so called Witches (mostly women and teenage girls) burnt at the stake. - Many so-called heretics were tortured, hanged, beheaded, pulled to pieces, and burnt alive by Many Christian Leaders (including the Founding Fathers of the Protestant Reformation). - Whole Villages (men, women, and children) were slaughtered if they did not convert to Christianity when their villages were conquered by Christian Armies - The Founder (Martin Luther) of the Protestant Reformation wanted the Jews killed and their homes destroyed. - The Founder of another large Christian Church had other Christians (they called heretics) tortured, and killed (beheaded, burnt at the stake, etc.) - One of the largest Christian Churches 100s of years ago had tens of thousands tortured and killed for not converting to their Christianity. - Do other Christian Churches in Japan (for example) tell an about to or newly converted member (Buddhist) that their father or mother, or grandparents (who passed away already and whom he/she loves very much) are going to hell because they are not Christian and have not accepted Jesus as their Savior. Do these Christian Churches tell these about to be converted Buddhist, oh by the way, your mother (Buddhist) who passed away a year ago, oh yeah, she’s in hell. Oh by the way, your grandparents (Muslims), whom you love very much who passed away several years ago, oh yeah, they’re in hell also. Again, they should go and study their own history.
I would go back in time if I could, there were trials, but there was much love ❤️ and joy…..and I hate Satan and his trials of these days. One day he won’t be around. I guess we cannot blame humans so much….we are all so tried by him.
Amen, David. These people who hate the Church, when confronted with cavernous failings in their own theology are quick to use the same excuse I heard over and over again growing up as a non-LDS that we cannot understand God’s way, yet they love to hold the restoration and the things Joseph Smith did while bringing forth that restoration to the standard of their worldly thinking, much of which is not well thought out or even relevant.
In Tommy's defense, some of us just like learning stuff. We want to know the hows and whys of things. We explore, we debate, we want to know what others think. It's not a bad or a good thing, just a human thing. The fact is there ARE difficult things to learn in the gospel. Some are easily dismissed, some are presented askew, and some just have to table it until there's more light. Everyone is different; some don't care to hear things, some love to see it all. Some can handle it, some can't. It's like playing with fire though. Boys love playing with fire! Not everyone knows their limits. Some will feel "burned" by learning tough things. It's not relevant how long they've been a member, nor the depth of their testimony. Again, everyone is different. It's heartbreaking when faith is lost this way, but when someone reacts indignantly ("How dare they lie to me") it's tough to reverse. Just human nature. I have family that's reacted this way and left. I've learned the exact same things and reacted with a range from "so what" to "that's only part of the story" to "that's been disproven, but nice try" to "hmm, that's a tough one" but nothing is going to blow up what I know to be true. Some people can juggle torches, and some people will get burned lighting a birthday cake. There's not always a way to predict that.
In Ephesians 2:2 there is an interesting name for Satan: The Prince of the power of the air. Satan is getting through to a lot of people through “the air” i.e. WiFi/the internet. Although the gospel and so much good is also being shared through the air.
Thinking about Tommy. He was respectful and didn't want to wreck your faith or trash talk you. He was kind to you, but I wionder if he feels closer to God since he rejected the Gospel? Is his life filled with faith and hope and fire? I just wonder if he feels like he's on a happier trajectory? Does his future appear full of potential to him, joyous, even acknowledging the restraints of mortality? I just wonder. The dark things he has embraced may not have made him better off
Thanks for thinking of Tommy. Hopefully he is finding answers and growing. So many assumptions are made by so many from a what I perceived as a respectful comment.
24:23 and then, the first thing they do is mark themselves as the amalekites did, but not with a red mark in their foreheads, but with tatoos and alcohol, to mention the least. What a waste!
It is sad so many leave, though no where near as many as the enemies imply, however about 40% of those return when they find out that though it isn't perfect, there is nothing better. There "facts" quickly fall apart when you dig deeper, like Dan Bradley does in his book The Lost 116 Pages. Dan Bradley fell away from this church, not only that, he left in a way intended to "make it impossible to return even if he was tempted to." But while doing research for someone writing an anti-Mormon book, he found that the more he studied Joseph Smith Jr. the better and better Joseph Smith Jr. looked, and the weaker the evidence against Joseph Smith Jr. and The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints appeared. Most of the evidences in the CES letter don't even stand up to basic research. As for the length of your videos, some of the videos against this church are 3 or 4 hours, though not 5 minutes are worth listening to.
@@kevinedward118 View Of The Hebrews only has a VERY simple superficial resemblance to The Book Of Mormon, and View Of The Hebrews has none of the historical or archeological aspects that have and continue to be shown accurate through new research. So even if none or all of the people were where you said, doing what you said, it would fall astronomically short of explaining The Book Of Mormon. All the knowledge of man at the time The Book Of Mormon was written, couldn't have produced The Book Of Mormon.
@@kevinedward118 B. H. Roberts through proper research provided better arguments against The Book Of Mormon than any of those actually opposed to The Book Of Mormon in his day. And it had the desired result, better research of The Book Of Mormon that has weakened every argument he made, and even destroyed several of them. Which is the exact opposite of what happens with fiction and scams, they only look less and less likely over time.
@@dr33776 Really? Examining an 8 foot papyrus, that in no way resembles the 30 foot papyrus, that all the members and non members of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints described Joseph Smith Jr. using for the Book Of Abraham? That would be like reading The Lord Of The Rings and saying "See the Bible never happened." Only 5% of all Egyptian papyrus have even been translated, and already several things shown and described in the facsimlies have been found on other papyrus. So what exactly are you calling a smoking gun? You have nothing.
❤This week reading about Lehis dream, the tree and rod. The important take away is THE ONLY THING THAT WILL KEEP US FROM BEING DECEIVED, AND listen to the imposters IS THE WORD OF GOD. 34:00 I wonder if Tommy wants confused children given drugs which will cause life long pain and irreversible infertility. There are people who want that. Giving a 10 year old puberty blockers to change their sex is doing things without informed consent.
Heard that alot but there's alot more to the accounts than we know. It's unfortunate that the anti people take bits and pieces of a story from history, or second hand word from frustrated people to fit their narratives .
Some get their feelings hurt. But you need to go to church for Christ . People are not perfect. They need to go to get straightened out. We all need to go to get things straight. That happens between an individual and Jesus Christ.
Please be mindful of those willing to deceive you❗ Priestcraft is real and Satan has been around for a very long time he's got practice stealing soul's!
These people who leave the church congratulate themselves about their superior intelligence (LOL). Fawn Brodies book is their Bible and the CES letter is their Doctrine and Covenants. Problem for them is that they cant stand the test of time. Just look a lt all the revisions of the CES letter. Fawn Brodie was an amateur historian this defined as some one who starts their research with a predetermined outcome and gathers only data that supports their thesis. I had to laugh when that first person assumes that you hadnt seen all of the "damning evidence" im sure that you have seen it all long before you joined the churxh. There is no w a y you would have been handing out Anti pamplets on Temple square in 2006. Your journey givees total validation to the truthfullness of the gospel. When i read that filth on my mission the Lord told me that they have a "Book of Mormon" problem. He then told me to get back to work and stop wasting his time that he had granted to me. Keep up the good work.
I know a Reveren that wants his daughter to have a Jesus loving husband so bad. Her one oppprtunity for that relationship with an LDS Member. You speak of trusting as a child, but you missed the related verse that says cursed is he that trusts in flesh, and this advice from Tommy is a plea for you to trust in flesh. The anti-LDS guff is flesh, and in direct opposition to hearing the Spirit. I will tell you a little bit about my experiences. For decades after first reading the Book of Mormon and responding to the witness of the Holy Ghost, I was blessed to be fed by the Spirit in the gospel without regard for anything that would sidetrack me from learning how to return to God. I am far from being naturally spiritual, and yet I learned that the Holy Ghost doesn't bother with anything that steers anyone in the wrong direction. Even the church was true to not wasting time on trivial nonsense. It was dogs barking at the caravan, and not worth its attention. Ignoring the noise doesn't mean 'the dogs' have anything valid to claim, yet so many people don't understand this fact. I am glad they did this for most of my past. Then I retired, and had to fill my days, which I did by much more time on RUclips. I started seeing anti-LDS sites and decided to write back to comments. It was a bit of a time-waster, but I had plenty. There was one particular video about the 'top 10 Mormon problems' and on watching it I decided to write ten responses - one for each and not to any commenter. The problems were rubbish and easy to debunk, but from then on I was guaranteed hundreds of silly comments from anti's. Over about two years I was thrown every claim in the book (of what I call Satan's bag of tricks). It is pure garbage, as you say without even having to see it, but I have seen it and debunked it all. I have swam through the whole cesspool and there was no Holy Ghost to be found anywhere. There were no promptings to pray about the claims and, most of all, no directions where the truth lies. Like you said - do what you like, so long as you deny the true gospel of Jesus Christ. After a while I figured there were simply no more claims left that I hadn't debunked and found other things to do, but I have been left with an appreciation of how the Holy Ghost directs Christ's church with an absolute focus on guiding people back to God. You are very wise to see this so early in your conversion.
@@dr33776 The site goes back years, and I have not kept copies of my responses. I know it's hard scrolling through so much time, so I will make it easy for you: Make a claim that you think is true, and I will give you a response. You can do this as many times as you like and I will reciprocate, but on each one stick to the point and not scattergun any with multiple issues. People are easily confused.
What comes to me, as wonderful counsel about how to deal with this sad situation, is found in these words from President Nelson's "Think Celestial" and from Paul's words from Hebrews 2:1-3:
"Think Celestial"!
As you think celestial, you will view trials and opposition in a new light.
When someone you love attacks truth, think celestial and don't question your testimony.
The apostle Paul prophesied that “in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.”
There is no end to the adversary’s deceptions. Please be prepared.
Never take counsel from those who do not believe.
Seek guidance from voices you can trust- from prophets, seers, and revelators, and from the whisperings of the Holy Ghost who “will show unto you the things what ye should do.”
Please do the spiritual work to increase your capacity to receive personal revelation.
As you think celestial, your faith will increase.
Hebrews 2:1-3:
"Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. 2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?"

Awesome comment well spoken, humbly delivered and powerfully packed with the Spirit of God I felt it from my boots up.
Love you!

Excellent!

David does a great job.
I love your testimony, David. You have the insight and the vision that only the Lord can give us, if we but only BELIEVE. (as a child)
I love your passion! Keep the flame going!! We need more people like you in this world.
yuk is right!
Fantastic! 😁😁😁

It is not only those of who you speak of. There are those who profess to love the Lord and the Gospel and give way to the adversary.

All of the above are red herrings which have been addressed ad nauseum. If you're groping desperately for alternative explanations, even the most dubious of options becomes "the real explanation". The church is so unintimidated by VoTH that they publish it themselves so saints can see that the similarities are few, and rather tenuous.
that iscorrect. that Voth is even considered is ludicrous if you have actually read it
Also, the ANTIs and haters always try to tell us what our doctrine and history is (much taken out of context, half-truths, sensationalized, etc.). They'll say that the Church doesn't tell its members about its true doctrine and so-called history (according to ANTIs) They point their finger of accusation, and 3 fingers are pointed right back at them. They need to go look at their own history (much of it dark)
When others come onto our faith’s pro faith channels and tear down, tell lies, tell half-truths, twist the truth, take things out of context, and throw false accusations and sensationalize the doctrine of the Church, its members, and its leaders, then they are ANTI LDS.
Some examples:
We are falsely accused of not telling our members of early Church history.
- Whole Villages (men, women, and children) were slaughtered if they did not convert to Christianity when their villages were conquered by Christian Armies
- The Founder (Martin Luther) of the Protestant Reformation wanted the Jews killed and their homes destroyed.
- The Founder of another large Christian Church had other Christians (they called heretics) tortured, and killed (beheaded, burnt at the stake, etc.)
- One of the largest Christian Churches 100s of years ago had tens of thousands tortured and killed for not converting to their Christianity.
No one will nor ever have been saved by church history!
@@sukt00 he's trying to be the dark choir of voices all by himself
It’s not a laughing matter!

Read scripture, pray and communicate with God. The only people who made it to the tree and STAYED THERE are the ones who CONTINUALLY held to the rod!!!!!!🎉the word of God
😂 David 😂 the guy just came from inside to outside 😂he doesn’t understand the lies we know outside that’s why we been looking for the truth and now we finally found it and we come inside and the man think he knows the truth 😂😂😂 like man 😂😂
I hope you don’t take the next two words lightly… thank you 🙏 🥲
David david I enjoy your videos please read this response I hope you do. In the scriptures, we are given the parable of the 10 virgins. It's sad that , 5 of the 10 virgins have fallen off. And why? Because they did not have. Oil in their lambs. We are finding out who the faithful Virgins are I am like you I hate to see people fall away especially Close friends and family.

34:00 I wonder if Tommy wants confused children given drugs which will cause life long pain and irreversible infertility. There are people who want that. Giving a 10 year old puberty blockers to change their sex is doing things without informed consent.
Heard that alot but there's alot more to the accounts than we know. It's unfortunate that the anti people take bits and pieces of a story from history, or second hand word from frustrated people to fit their narratives .
...and they brought out the accuser....
I played all hyms in motivation of you God bells
Some get their feelings hurt. But you need to go to church for Christ . People are not perfect. They need to go to get straightened out. We all need to go to get things straight. That happens between an individual and Jesus Christ.
Poor Tommy, I
Know people that this has happened to. He needs to repent and go to the temple , AND read study prayerfully the BOM!
Tommy Gird up your loins and move away from garbage bags and go towards Jesus invitation to come follow me. Humility is the way to fight lies

@dr33776 there is a difference between continuing revelation and a wholesale refutation to fit the changing circumstances.
I know a Reveren that wants his daughter to have a Jesus loving husband so bad. Her one oppprtunity for that relationship with an LDS Member. Her reveren earthly father used his influence with his daughter to use his disbelief that we serve the True Jesus to detour his daughter from her shot at happiness and fullfilment with a life long partner and believer in Jesus Christ. Foolishess. (Ignorance)
I know it's hard scrolling through so much time, so I will make it easy for you:
Make a claim that you think is true, and I will give you a response. You can do this as many times as you like and I will reciprocate, but on each one stick to the point and not scattergun any with multiple issues. People are easily confused.
