💙👍...wow....there's some serious talent, (and hard work involved to get there), in that line-up.
Great playing. Thanks TAS for sharing.
Super content from Walnut Valley. So much talent.
@kittyemzcanada I left it on the Livestream, but you might have left before it posted. About getting a nice (maybe $$) instrument. Before my wife went to the hospital the last time (radiation caused leukemia) we talked
About guitars. She knew I was getting a nice guitar so kids & grandchildren would inherit one "Grandpa played. " she told me to buy or order one for my birthday, Christmas or anniversary and have it come from her: one for each kid or grandchild.
@texhaines9957 I had to leave the live stream early as company arrived unexpectedly, so didn't see your message. I had a Yamaha FG9 R on order, but it's on hold for now.
None if my kids are musically inclined...so I'll have to (LOL) take my guitar with me when I "go"....
I had to watch momos performance 3 times. Just, wow. Actually blew me away.
I really like that all...
Momo is one of a kind, im glad i found this. the small details in the way she highlights a note between the chord choice and volume control is astounding
Fantastic.
Thanks for filming and uploading this competition.
Thank you for sharing!!!
They are all great but Momo is something else - congrats!
just wow....that was amazing,,,thanx for posting
Congratulations Adam Cantor ,I like your music
Rodger Hudson! Momo! Everyone just played so great! Love these Championship videos.
Amazing, wonderful and very talented players. Momo is top notch however. Congratulations and thanks so much for posting this video. I really enjoyed it 😊
A big thank you to the festival, the players, and the Acoustic Shoppe for bringing this fantastic music and the flatpicking music to us.
MOMOさん、おめでとう。念願が叶いましたね。これからも素晴らしい音色でたくさんの方たちに、感動を与えてください。表彰式はほっこりとして温かみがあり最高でした。
I lived in Winfield in 1955, it was a small town of 8000 people. The Walnut Valley venue was the city park. I hope to make it back some day for the festival.
Thank you for watching your video made with passion and great effort. Thanks to the algorithm, your video caught my eye, and thanks to it, my heart was filled with beautiful and good energy. You have a wonderful talent full of strange charm that looks at your video like a dream. I respect and support the excellence of your sensibility.
素晴らしい😂
祈りの、こもった演奏でした❤🎉
おめでとうございます❤😂🎉
おめでとう!!モモさん!!
Momo's encore might be my new favorite song. I've only listened to it once but it was amazing.
✨MOMOさん✨
すっ凄い❣️
すっステキ❣️
I have to say, second place was actually top prize. That beautiful Taylor Grand Auditorium was at least 6 to 7 thousand dollars. I think all the stuff first place got might have totaled to be 5 thousand.
I'm hearing José Neto from the first guitarist (Momo Kimuta). Pretty GD perfect if you ask me.
Ref. Momo stopped me in my tracks, I thought he was plugged in but no .an amazing guitar tone. For me this style of playing is the top. technique.
Thank you so much for posting this! Do you know how many contestants were in round one?
I'm not too sure honestly, I think less than 15.
They limit the entrants to 30. And (pre Covid, anyway) nearly that many compete.
@@dhulbert855 This year I do know they could've been up to 50
@@dhulbert855 Thanks neighbor!
Didn't know they had this. My fingerstyle is better than my flatpicking.
The mandolin winners got screwed. Holy cow. Every contest I’ve seen all 3 win instruments and some get big checks as well. They need to spread the love. It’s kind of shameful.
I guess judging is very subjective.
Curious... as opposed to what??? Running the video thru the Object-O-Tron 5000? What would "objective" judging be exactly?
I honestly wasn’t that impressed with the winner. Technique was good, but the piece was a bit boring and very nylon. Not a big fan of nylon strings being in the mix.
Then why are you even here?
Not impressed?! How about showing up next year so we can see YOUR chops?! I get the feeling you have no idea how difficult it is to play finger style - and can’t even appreciate that nylon is a beautiful instrument and made sense for Momo’s performance style. It’s fine not to like something, but to say you weren’t impressed is a bit much.
And btw, Rodger was also playing Nylon. Why didn’t you dog him for using nylon too?!
won by playing the greatest piece, Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence!
I respect the Steel string purity and where you’re coming from. Not the hardest techniques shes pullin off. Granted I can’t do that but if you give me a good 3-4 months I can get down the general sound she’s making. Imo I think using a thumb pick effectively is more impressive
A good Flamenco guitarist could have won.Momo was good but pretty basic.
So to say a better guitarist could have won...
