- Update video of tunnel Dave after the midway escape last week. The aim of the tunnel is to get to my house so still a long way to go. In this video I start to line the escape cha,her and try a different method of removing the soil.

Yes at least we showed how hard it was and the real tunnel was 20x longer and loads deeper. Amazing achievement by the prisoners

you could probably attach a metal plate to the bottom of the legs of the swing set to make it safer.

It's hard to imagine someone as completely mad as you being methodical enough to copy Colin Furze. You're clearly a rocket with no guidance system. Excellent work as always. Glad to see you're putting walls on the escape hatch. Over time a side collapse could be very dangerous.

Very inspiring I’m hoping to dig myself a bunker in a similar fashion.
It is incredible how much spoil is generated from digging .
It must feel like a bigger job to deal with that than actually digging.

Looking better and better on each video
Put a string on the cart lever and youd be able to pull it back without crawling. If you put a pulley at either end of the tunnel and ran that string around both you could control exactly where the cart ended up!

a windlass would be perfect on that old swing set frame. they pull straight up and down, and you can drive the windlass with just a hand drill or something like that

Oh standing up digging? la-de-da! going all posh and upmarket on us now! lol. having an unpowered cart that you can just slide up the tunnel might be useful for the vertical shaft then you can use your powered cart to retrieve it.

Great progress! I felt a bit nervous when you were head first in the hole - if you slipped in and got jammed upside down like that it would be a struggle to get out.
Yes I would of struggled to get out, not doing that again 😂
You really should have two people for getting rid of the dirt, one up top to unload and one down the tunnel to load. Would make it a heck of a lot easier I'd bet.
Yes, I was hoping it would make it easier by myself but need to refine the technique I think 😂
You need to make some specialized digging equipment instead of digging by hand. I've had some success with pneumatic augers and using wet/dry vacuum systems.
I could do but I only have another 16ft to go till what I have planned so not sure it will be worth the time

What about a bit of rope on the handle of the kart so you can pull the rope and it makes the kart go again?

The ground here in Phoenix, Arizona is near hard as concrete, or else I’d be following suit and be building my own backyard bunker.

The real great escape was something like 350ft, mine will be around 35ft when complete so yes it’s only 10% of the ones the boys dug

And make the tunnel tall enough to stand up in. I know it seems like more work but you will get it done a lot faster if your standing up.

Yes it would, just trying to think of a good remote control system for it 😀
@@Tornado_Dave I don't know how the control system is, if it's just two buttons. you could wire in one of those RF wireless remote relay things and then I have 1+ remotes.

Even if you just attached a string to the handle on the cart, then you wouldn't have to go crawling along the hole to go get the cart.

Once the job is finished you might like it more, the tunnel is all part of the theme and I think will make the finished project better than having a full height tunnel. Let me know when I’ve finished the job 😂
