Thanks for sharing. Wish it was cheaper - The part is still expensive at $80 a side. Cost is essentially the same on both Amazon and Ebay
BTW, in the course of repairing the left side piece, which broke and flew off on the freeway, I checked the right side piece and, sure enough, it was loose too...although still in one piece. I'd very much like to avoid spending another $80 on a freakin' piece of plastic...do you know if any after market vendors sell just the replacement double stick tape? Great Video, thank you. Here I am in 2020 still driving my 2007 RX 350 and 182,000 mile later that same trim was wavering in the wind. Luckily I spotted it in my rear view mirror and was able to remove it before it flew off. Broke off the the 2 little buttons but I am going to try and use double sided 3M tape and see if I can reinstall the trim piece anyway. Meanwhile I've ordered a new one just in case. Probably should get one for the passenger side as well.
You are lucky, mine corroded and snapped away.

I bought it from Amazon and seems to be the only place to get it online for less than $80. It is still a rip off, but I can't find it cheaper anywhere else on line and it is impossible for junkyards.
The plastic mold probably cost $20,000 to build for each side. Which means he needs to sell more than 250 pcs before he makes a profit. I gotta give this entrepreneur props for taking this risk so I don’t have to buy a whole new piece of glass from Lexus.
Could NOT find this product on Ebay, but a quick Amazon search and voila!

I need to make this repair on my next "warm" winter day in Chicago. Currently it's about 10 degrees outside and my garage is unheated.
Would doing this in an unheated garage affect the adhesion or should I find a dependable repair shop and hope they do it for $20 bucks?

you can use a hair dryer to warm it up or put a space heater in the garage so its not to cold the reason is when its cold you get condensation thus preventing the tape from sticking properly, you can also add a dab of silicon in each hole and pin for extra security when you do the final install.

At first i thought the dealer was trying to jerk me. Who in their right mind would pay for a complete window when all I need is a trim.
I really love Lexus quality but this is Highway robbery.
