Magic is strictly prohibited in Demacia - hence why Sylas is locked up with those chains. Lux is part of a royal family and tends to hide her magic use. There is some really deep lore between Lux and Sylas but that youll have to dive into yourselves.
Sylas mimicking Garens sword, like he does with the ultimates in game, is a nice detail.
another detail is he actually copied it after he blocked garen at the first encounter
If Galio and Malphite were scale appropriate, all you'd see is a grey and brown blur on your screen.
