  • Started out as a reserve, soon promoted well deserved, and the legend has begun.
Lauri Allan Törni, the soldier of three armies. Born and raised in Viipuri in Finnish Karelia, Lauri Törni grew up into a world of tensions, of class-consciousness and conflicting ideologies. Boxed in between the Soviet Union and Germany, Finland was preparing for war of survival. The Winter War would be the first place for Lauri Törni to see battle and begin his legacy as a born soldier.

He is very much respected among any person in the US SOF. He was in his 40's when he got his beret. He was the inspiration for the character that John Wayne played in the movie The Green Berets. He was also carrying the units entire ration of Pervitin (meth used to stay awake on duty), but was too panicked to get one pill out so he just took all 30. What followed was a 1-2 week long bender where he should have died several times over, getting injuries including stepping on a landmine, and skiing for over 250 miles before making it to a Finnish hospital and being admitted. When I saw the first few seconds, I was like ´´No, are they using Zoom?´´, but then I heard Skype and I was like ´´Oh thank god´´. I prefer Discord, but Skype is still good.
Edit: Also, you have nothing to worry about, Joakim. Nothing will happen if you reveal your home address. You'll just receive books and other stuff to help you write a new song. I mean, I think that Sabaton fans aren't insane enough to go and visit your place.

Well, I've witnessed some crazy shit during my life, and I think it's good to remember that even though we here on the comment section have nothing but respect for the man, there still are millions of other people out there. It wouldn't be nice if someone unstable, who thinks Joakim spreads fascist ideas for example, shows up on his doorstep. Not to mention the possibility of unstable women lurking under his bedroom window and singing about sucking his metal machine. You never know what's going on in people's heads and therefore anything is possible.

Who else already got excited about not one, but two episodes on Gallipoli and the aces in exile?
And now, an official Sabaton History trilogy! I don’t know why, but there's something about trilogies… there are a lot of great ones out there. Anyway, this is already a great episode! There is (imho) absolutely no need to make apologies about Skype, thank goodness it's all possible and we can still enjoy those amazing stories and videos!
So what’s next? 13 episodes on the art of war? ;)
I'm glad to see you guys in good health! Stay safe and keep up the good work, wherever you film it.

Great photo that Indy should comment on some time. For those who aren't familiar, during a 1993 game Robin Ventura charged the mound after getting hit by a pitch, but Nolan Ryan put him in a headlock and gave him a one sided beat down. By the way, Robin is a very nice guy with a great sense of humor who has been happy to good naturedly sign copies of that photo at White Sox fan events for years.

One thing many miss is that Lauris training in Germany had him think less of german army in whole. He thought the SS training a joke.
