This was SO helpful. I have watched several other videos and they went way to fast and did not take the time to execute the actual split and trimming actions. You spoke slow and clearly which is so important when teaching something that may be second nature to the speaker, but not to the learner. Thank you!! I will be turning to you for other tutorials.
Thanks for your answer. After importing the project I inserted a title but it overlaid it rather than pushing the project forward. I want it to serve as an intro before the video commenced. I hope that makes sense and also that you have a solution.

+Hotte GKT I just checked it :( No instant 1080P if i convert to YT. Just smaller file size because will be reduced from 1080P/60fps to 1080P /30fps. Dont work for me...just for info. (i just love YT 1080P/60fps...looks so much better...)

I have yet to get an answer to this, but ill try again. How do you change the length of a fade? Eg. I want to fade the audio and video out (to black) slowly at the end of a clip, but i cant find a way to change the duration of the fade. Anyone?

Hi Nick. I, all of a sudden - after 3 months of editing, have a freeze issue when I SPLIT my frames in MM. I have a "capability" issue. All other functions works. How can I fix this, do you know?

If you are trying to add photo/video in between a video clip it will always get added at the end of the clip. First you will need to split that video clip then add the photo/video where you have split the clip.
Can't comprehend or follow the tutorial. Very confusing. I right click and the sreen just reverts back to the opening page. How do you get the menu when you right click ?
If the audio and video is not already separated then you will not be able to do it in the free WMM. You will need to invest in a more professional video editor that can handle the task.
Like the song says... "you're just a good soul whose intentions are good"... but a beginner cannot follow your instructions. I find that it is the problem of many of those tutorials for "beginners" that either assume that the beginner is familiar with all the terms and features of the software or that they can follow the instructions given without any explanation. But, thanks anyway... I guess

Nope. You can split, trim and do other things too. But this free video editor does not do split screen.

Put the cursor where you want to split the video right click on it from pop up menu click on split option.

splitting and trimming mechanism is not sensitive to seconds.

You can download Sony Vegas for free, but it's illegal. However, the way I see it, it's only illegal if you get caught.

Videos from my iphone are .mov files. I can get Movie Maker to display them. Do they have to be in a different format?

You can browse and open all three clips within WMM. Then use transitions between them.
