Childhood trauma, PTSD, long term major depression, and a few other things caught up with me after a fall that kept me bed ridden for a few months-all the while watching my cognitive abilities decline to the point I couldn’t carry a reasonable conversation, let alone my previous acuities. Then, a little over a year ago, I found you, Tommy, and Calhoun on the Lifeboat. You all have been instrumental in helping me address my issues and taking concrete to reclaiming my life. @ChaseTheHeat thank you! It's been a difficult journey since now I am paying for it both mentally and sometimes physically. Since 2018, I have been suffering from extreme anxiety, manic depression and severe PTSD due to my past decisions. Also, since I had a cancerous legion removed from my left calf in January of 2017 due to the pain killers they put me on, I have been a prisoner of my own home. A little over three weeks ago, I was finally able to get out and actually leave my apartment for the first time in a long time. January 12, I celebrated 6 years of being cancer free, another mile stone I am completely proud of. Again, I would like to thank you for being such a positive influence in my life. It's crazy to me to see a grown man behaving like that. And the worst part is adults in the chili community support him knowing what he is, and what he does. The plus side is, seeing him for what he is. When I started my channel almost 8 years ago, he was seen in such a different light. He stock has tumbled and continues to. But he's making that money. Johnny, I have been following and watching you since day 1 of your RUclips videos, and I'll tell you right now, in my humble opinion, this was the best video you have ever done. The funny thing is, people have told me that I have an uncanny ability to see through the "face" people put forward and see the real person. The very first time I ever saw a video with Ed, I thought to myself; "Wow, this guy should be selling used cars or standing on the corner selling watches from under his coat!" Never liked the guy from Day 1, and now that things have been coming out, I know why! You are a good and honest man, and all I can say is, thank you, and keep up the great work! P.S. I was a massive alcoholic for 30 years. 2007 I was assaulted in a park. I woke up in hospital and finally found out my tolerance. I survived a 78 BAC. I refused care and took the bus home. Because of the 78 BAC, I also avoided 3rd degree frostbite that night. From the knees down was numb for six months. I was lucky beyond belief. 16 years sober. Check your addictions folks.
I’m thankful for your channel in many ways you inspired me to do my channel if wasn’t for your encouragement my sobriety 17 months 10 days probably wouldn’t have happened now I’d rather munch on a pepper or take a spoonful of hot sauce then drink a beer

Dates like that stay planted in your mind. I quit ciggarettes March 15th 2002. Sometimes it is still a challenge but I have managed to stay away from them. I just know that if I ever had just one, I would be back to smoking packs a day within a few days. Thanks for keeping real Johnny.
I am a believer. I'm not the kind of believer who often quotes scripture, but Isaiah 5:20, states: "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." That is where society is and much of the chili community as well
I quit drinking about 35+ years ago. What I found was once I was away from people still drinking and smoking, I had no desire for either anymore. So congratulations to all of you who have kicked your addictions *( except peppers ), you've taken a big step toward a happier life.

I have been working on my tolerance… I went to the store to push myself and got some habaneros red and orange ones. Ive been eating Thai chilies no problem and wanted to take the next step… I got home and just had a red one and WOW what a rush! I handled it so well to my surprise, i didn’t drink anything, I think my tolerance is higher than I originally thought. It was fantastic.

I’m not sure the end justifies the means because you would have been just as inspired by his real number. Just another reason I’m forever grateful that God put you in my path in Erie! You were right there when I needed a fellow sober friend, and I just don’t believe that was just “Good timing”. I was in tailspin of confusion & emotions after I bought (what I thought was) a frozen icee, only it was an alcoholic frozen icee. I only swallowed the first sip and realized right away that it had alcohol in it. You saw how messed up I was about it and thinking I just blew almost 10 years. I still can’t thank you enough for taking the time to calm me down, explain it wasn’t my fault and just being a great friend/brother 💙 Knowing the words of wisdom were coming from someone that has no reason to lie and could relate, sets that talk in a stone even deeper!! I was a junkie drug addict for a long time. Nobody lied to more people than I did. I'm sober today. 15+ years from hard drugs, and over 5 years from booze. The absolutely BEST part about being sober is NOT having to lie to anyone. When a kid lies to you, it's part of growing up. But when a grown man lies to you, my first thought goes back to MY own past. I lied when I was using. I connect the dots and make that assumption.
I'm 52 years old 30 years higher than the clouds. 17 years of prison riding those clouds. Been clean 7 years come this Halloween. One day at a time brotha!! God bless!!

I agree Ed has done well at marketing the peppers he's grown. I personally believe the 7 pot Primo and the Reaper are the same strain and have believed it for a long time. I finally got seeds from Primo a few years ago and they are incredible!!

Johnny Scoville, I've been watching you for a few years now. You're the only channel that I watch regularly. That's not due to you eating insanely hot food. Yes that's entertaining. I watch because I can relate to a bit of who you are. I have my own demons, I go to 12 step. I watch both you and your brother. I look at you two as "brothers in existence" I'm a follower of Jesus Christ as well. I just love how honest and open you both are. So many content creators do tricks for views, click bait, etc.... You do none of that. I simply enjoy watching someone that if I knew if real life, I'd be honored to call a friend. Some of the best people I've met in life are those in recovery. Mostly because they were forced to be honest and humble about who they were and the choices they made in life. For me honesty is one thing that sets people up very high in my opinion, especially if they are honest about the ugly choices they've made. I understand your feelings about being honest about sobriety. The core principles of the 12 step program are based on honesty and humility.

Ref the Evil Avocado: There is a pepper called Da Hulk which has similar colours, although if you leave it to fully fully ripen it'll go peachy coloured eventually
The Evil Avocado, last year I let the pods stay in the plant until they turned rotten, they NEVER changed from green/ black.... the green does lessen in its brilliance too a very slight mustardy green
My creep meter has always been triggered when seeing and hearing from him. Especially after growing both Scorpions and Reapers and seeing how similar they are to each other, including the flavour. My theory is that he just selectively grew out and propagated seasons of Scorpions to end up with Reapers 🤷♂️. The notoriety of the Reaper obviously being a huge financial windfall for him.
You know Johnny I was suspicious of Ed ever since the Carolina Reaper came out. He was inconsistent when asked what the cross was. First he said it’s a 7 pod crossed with a Pakistan naga then he said 7 pod crossed with a naga viper then a 7 pod crossed with a red habanero? So which is it? Johnny I am an addict myself. I was addicted to Klonopin for over a decade. Had to detox or else I might have died during withdrawal. Istill am very addicted to a substance known as Kratom. You may not have heard of that. You know, I really shouldn't say that. I don't know definitively. I know this, Ed has lied to me personally many times. Several times he told me I would review pepper x, that was a lie. He lied to me about his sober date. When I was an addict, I lied to EVERYONE all the time, so when I meet a grown person that seems to lie a lot, I assume the obvious. If he told me it was Thursday, I'd need to look at my phone to be sure. That's sad. I feel bad for him, imagine being viewed like that

Im all about the peppers and how they burn. In my opinion, average scoville units a pepper is aside, if it feels hotter to me, its a hotter pepper. Other people can say its a hotter pepper than say other peppers that are considered the hottest by actual ratings but none of that matters to me. If the peppers feel hotter than said hottest pepper, then it is. Its an opinion, not fact. The only person whos tested peppers actually and verbally talked about them on video that has been right on about the actual peppers they ate and i have also ate and agreed with is Johnny here. World is full of corrupt buisness men and liars to bring bigger businesses up and keep the smaller ones down that tell the truth and/or try to eliminate them completely. Its just sad. @ChaseTheHeat thank you! It's been a difficult journey since now I am paying for it both mentally and sometimes physically. Since 2018, I have been suffering from extreme anxiety, manic depression and severe PTSD due to my past decisions. Also, since I had a cancerous legion removed from my left calf in January of 2017 due to the pain killers they put me on, I have been a prisoner of my own home. A little over three weeks ago, I was finally able to get out and actually leave my apartment for the first time in a long time. January 12, I celebrated 6 years of being cancer free, another mile stone I am completely proud of. Again, I would like to thank you for being such a positive influence in my life. I think this style of video is greatly underrated in todays world where people simply say whatever they want to and call it truth. Nice to see you calling people out - its needed.
It's crazy to me to see a grown man behaving like that. And the worst part is adults in the chili community support him knowing what he is, and what he does. The plus side is, seeing him for what he is. When I started my channel almost 8 years ago, he was seen in such a different light. He stock has tumbled and continues to. But he's making that money.

Johnny, I have been following and watching you since day 1 of your RUclips videos, and I'll tell you right now, in my humble opinion, this was the best video you have ever done. The funny thing is, people have told me that I have an uncanny ability to see through the "face" people put forward and see the real person. The very first time I ever saw a video with Ed, I thought to myself; "Wow, this guy should be selling used cars or standing on the corner selling watches from under his coat!" Never liked the guy from Day 1, and now that things have been coming out, I know why! You are a good and honest man, and all I can say is, thank you, and keep up the great work! P.S. I was a massive alcoholic for 30 years. 2007 I was assaulted in a park. I woke up in hospital and finally found out my tolerance. I survived a 78 BAC. I refused care and took the bus home. Because of the 78 BAC, I also avoided 3rd degree frostbite that night. From the knees down was numb for six months. I was lucky beyond belief. 16 years sober. Check your addictions folks.

Dates like that stay planted in your mind. I quit ciggarettes March 15th 2002. Sometimes it is still a challenge but I have managed to stay away from them. I just know that if I ever had just one, I would be back to smoking packs a day within a few days. Thanks for keeping real Johnny.

I am a believer. I'm not the kind of believer who often quotes scripture, but Isaiah 5:20, states: "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." That is where society is and much of the chili community as well
I quit drinking about 35+ years ago.
What I found was once I was away from people still drinking and smoking, I had no desire for either anymore.
So congratulations to all of you who have kicked your addictions *( except peppers ), you've taken a big step toward a happier life.

This video just confirms all my suspicions about Ed, I tried the CR years ago and yeah it was very hot, but my work allowed me to travel all over the world and I tried hotter peppers the same as you, so when a friend refereed me to your channel and I started growing 7 pots, primotallis and more... oh boy! Im not sure how long I've been subscribed to your channel but ive always appreciated your transparency. Anytime I am watching another channel and they trash talk the brothers scoville i simply unfollow because I don't want any part of it.
I have been working on my tolerance… I went to the store to push myself and got some habaneros red and orange ones. Ive been eating Thai chilies no problem and wanted to take the next step… I got home and just had a red one and WOW what a rush! I handled it so well to my surprise, i didn’t drink anything, I think my tolerance is higher than I originally thought. It was fantastic.

Just another reason I’m forever grateful that God put you in my path in Erie! You were right there when I needed a fellow sober friend, and I just don’t believe that was just “Good timing”. I was in tailspin of confusion & emotions after I bought (what I thought was) a frozen icee, only it was an alcoholic frozen icee. I only swallowed the first sip and realized right away that it had alcohol in it. You saw how messed up I was about it and thinking I just blew almost 10 years. I still can’t thank you enough for taking the time to calm me down, explain it wasn’t my fault and just being a great friend/brother 💙 Knowing the words of wisdom were coming from someone that has no reason to lie and could relate, sets that talk in a stone even deeper!! I was a junkie drug addict for a long time. Nobody lied to more people than I did. I'm sober today. 15+ years from hard drugs, and over 5 years from booze. The absolutely BEST part about being sober is NOT having to lie to anyone.
When a kid lies to you, it's part of growing up. But when a grown man lies to you, my first thought goes back to MY own past. I lied when I was using. I connect the dots and make that assumption.
I'm 52 years old 30 years higher than the clouds. 17 years of prison riding those clouds. Been clean 7 years come this Halloween. One day at a time brotha!! God bless!!

I agree Ed has done well at marketing the peppers he's grown. I personally believe the 7 pot Primo and the Reaper are the same strain and have believed it for a long time. I finally got seeds from Primo a few years ago and they are incredible!!

Johnny Scoville, I've been watching you for a few years now. You're the only channel that I watch regularly. That's not due to you eating insanely hot food. Yes that's entertaining. I watch because I can relate to a bit of who you are. I have my own demons, I go to 12 step. I watch both you and your brother. I look at you two as "brothers in existence" I'm a follower of Jesus Christ as well. I just love how honest and open you both are. So many content creators do tricks for views, click bait, etc.... You do none of that. I simply enjoy watching someone that if I knew if real life, I'd be honored to call a friend. Some of the best people I've met in life are those in recovery. Mostly because they were forced to be honest and humble about who they were and the choices they made in life. For me honesty is one thing that sets people up very high in my opinion, especially if they are honest about the ugly choices they've made. I understand your feelings about being honest about sobriety. The core principles of the 12 step program are based on honesty and humility.

Ref the Evil Avocado: There is a pepper called Da Hulk which has similar colours, although if you leave it to fully fully ripen it'll go peachy coloured eventually
The Evil Avocado, last year I let the pods stay in the plant until they turned rotten, they NEVER changed from green/ black.... the green does lessen in its brilliance too a very slight mustardy green

My creep meter has always been triggered when seeing and hearing from him. Especially after growing both Scorpions and Reapers and seeing how similar they are to each other, including the flavour. My theory is that he just selectively grew out and propagated seasons of Scorpions to end up with Reapers 🤷♂️. The notoriety of the Reaper obviously being a huge financial windfall for him.

Johnny I am an addict myself. I was addicted to Klonopin for over a decade. Had to detox or else I might have died during withdrawal. Istill am very addicted to a substance known as Kratom. You know, I really shouldn't say that. I don't know definitively. I know this, Ed has lied to me personally many times. Several times he told me I would review pepper x, that was a lie. He lied to me about his sober date.
When I was an addict, I lied to EVERYONE all the time, so when I meet a grown person that seems to lie a lot, I assume the obvious.
If he told me it was Thursday, I'd need to look at my phone to be sure. That's sad. I feel bad for him, imagine being viewed like that

Im all about the peppers and how they burn. In my opinion, average scoville units a pepper is aside, if it feels hotter to me, its a hotter pepper. Other people can say its a hotter pepper than say other peppers that are considered the hottest by actual ratings but none of that matters to me. If the peppers feel hotter than said hottest pepper, then it is. Its an opinion, not fact. The only person whos tested peppers actually and verbally talked about them on video that has been right on about the actual peppers they ate and i have also ate and agreed with is Johnny here. World is full of corrupt buisness men and liars to bring bigger businesses up and keep the smaller ones down that tell the truth and/or try to eliminate them completely. Its just sad. Johnny, just keep on keeping on and us true 🌶heads will continue on supporting everything you do for our pepper community. Best pepper channel out there and you deserve more.
