This performance hits so different from her AGT version. The basic arrangement is the same, but it's as you pointed out: this was so jazzy. Angelina sings what she feels and really delivers the emotion. Great reaction, Valerie!

Because Angelina is both the artist and the instrument, I have come to describe her as Mozart and Monet building a Stradivarius.
Her singing is comparable to Monet’s painting series (haystacks, churches, etc.). Every time she sings a song, she paints the same subject with slightly different colors; and every rendition varies in appearance but is equally a masterpiece.
She polished and refined her AGT performance then for me she is so gracious and humble .she works so hard to please her live audience I can't help but appreciate and enjoy her

Hi Valerie, this is Angelina's full version, same as she did on AGT. This live version is simply spectacular with just the guitarist who also has a big smile on his face. She is still 16, and we do not want her to grow up to fast...😁😁😁😁. Thank you Valerie.

Wonderfull commentary! I always enjoy your observations with Angelina. She was 16 and six months old at this July concert in Norway. She will be 17 this coming January 10th 2023.
I really like Amira. I think she was Nine when she first appeared on a talent show. Her voice is beautiful. The main difference with her and AJ is the music type which doesn’t allow for much personal arraigning of the words, cadence, melody or instrumentation. Grace is a fine song writer, but doesn’t have the vocal abilities of either of the other two. Some classical songs and performances are very emotional, but with Angelina she makes every song special, and the emotion is just natural for her.

I just thought I would let you know that this arrangement is the exact same as on AGT, just that her voice has matured a lot. Queen gave her the copyright to this rendition, ensuring that all proceedings go to Angelina. They also gave her the right to perform where she sees fit. So I guess she has to (and should) stay within those confines. Angelina isn't quite 17 years old yet, her birthday is on January 10th. This was recorded in June, making her exactly 16,5 years old 🙂

Yes, the comments about length of this recording were a bit vague to me. I could not tell if Valerie was comparing this recording to the Queen original or to Angelina’s AGT arrangement. I will need to rewatch. However, I do find Angelina’s execution this summer to be different and the best recorded so far.

@@poolhallshark Copyright is permission to reproduce someone else’s work. The terms associated with that could be anything the two parties agree upon. Sure, Queen could give AJ total freedom without compensation, or they could agree upon a percentage of the income she receives. Many other details could also be defined: when & where performed publicly, how it is distributed, and so on. Probably a handful of people know the specific details. Maybe Queen could have simply said, ‘we are not going to enforce our copyright against you.’
All I know is, we are grateful that AJ is at liberty to continue singing this masterpiece for us.
Val, I’m not sure if you know this, but the remaining members of Queen saw Angelina’s A.G.T. performance. They were so impressed with Angelina’s arrangement and performance of Freddy’s song that they gave Angelina their permission to copy write her arrangement of this song.
That would have been agreed between Brian, Roger, John and Freddie's estate as all 4 have equal shares and have to agree before anything can happen ...🙂👍

Actually, she’s 16. If you want to see how much of a perfectionist she has been since she was 7, check out her rehearsal of “At Last” when she was 8. Made the band do it her way three times.

I'm sure most successful singers have experimented with different sounds but I don't know of any other who did a large percentage of it with a mic in front of a camera. Starting at the age of six with mostly jazz standards sang very true to the originals. She then explored all kinds of musical styles for a while. Now in the last 2-3 years, she has developed a jazz style that is distinctly hers and seems to be sticking to it. While you can at times hear the influences of the jazz greats from the last century, there are also bits of modern pop and R&B. There are even techniques and embellishments that seem to have come from nowhere else but Angelina herself. This song, for example, three years ago she sang it in a style that I would say was 50% jazz and 50% pop and while it was certainly unique and amazing artistically, her new version in this video is at an entirely new level, sang entirely in Angelina's new personal jazz style. I don't really want to see covers on her upcoming album but I wouldn't be overly upset if she rerecorded this one on it.

I always enjoy your reviews and usually learn from them. You are almost right about Angelina, but she is not yet 17 and will not be until January 10, 2023. She, unlike Mozart, had only her grandmother's love of jazz for her musical schooling. You were right that Angie spent her childhood studying and trying out the performances of the greatest vocal artists.
This song, her original arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody, had to be very short to fit in to her performance on America's Got talent - The Champions, when she was 13. The members of Queen tweated how much they liked it, and they gave Angelina the rights to that version. It is available in the usual musical outlets under her own label.
She shows here the maturity that she has achieved since she was 13. The performance on AGT was astounding, and attracted millions of views in just a couple of weeks, but this performance, in June of this year in Norway, is stellar.

Yeh, Angelina is GREAT. She,s one of my triple AAA ARTISTS. The other two are the STUNNING young SUPER SOPRANO Amira Willighagen and the AMAZING COMPOSER, VIOLINIST and PIANIST Alma Deutcher. I know there are many more REALLY COOL talents World wide, but these 3 are the Cherry,s on the cake.
