But which Legend of Heroes series was best. If I don't have all the time in the world to play them all, which should I focus on? Which had the best/creative gameplay/mechanics?
Think this as falcon struggling on what to do with the legend of heroes series and deciding to do a new world/story that has no connection with the previous 5 games. An example of this is the final fantasy series. All numbered games are new experiences with different worlds and characters, except for final fantasy 10, 10-2 and 13, 13-2, 13-3.
@@pedrozaragoza4664 think of the trails series as separate from the the legend of heroes series. Games 1 to 5 from the legend of heroes are from the gagharv saga (the legend of heroes). Ignore the first 5 games, they are not relevant to the trails series. The story takes place in a different world. Games 6 to the newest are exclusively from the trails series zemuria saga (trails) WORTH PLAYING. All the games from the 6th forward are sequels and take place in Zemuria. The trails series full name is the legend of heroes trails (in the sky, cold steel...). If you've played persona, it's the same deal. Shin Megami Tensei is one series and persona is another, but persona's full name is Shin Megami Tensei Persona 1/2/3/4/5.
For Platform availability I mad sure to check online for confirmation. ✌ Trails of Cold Steel 1 was released for Switch on July 8, 2021 and Trails of Cold Steel 2 on August 5, 2021 (though it is still a Japanese release) 😁
Which SUCKS since Hajimari's English dub will be on all the consoles but then again it only reads Data/Save files from CS3 and 4 and both Crossbell games.
Not YET but a Kuro 3 game IS likely in Japan first but not ALL the Dragon Slayer games left Japan at all and for the Switch CS1 and 2 ( Sen No Kiseki) for that one are only in Japanese so you still need a PS3/PS4 to play those 2 in English.
I'm on my fourth full playthrough of the Trails of cold Steel arc. Love these games.
Falcom is so good at World building that it'll keep you coming back for more
One of the most intimidating series to get into. Just about every game is connected or continuing an ongoing story.

The legend of nayuta boundless trails

You made some mistakes. Trails of cold steel 1 and 2 aren't aviable on switch.

Cold Steel 1&2 are also on steam.
