මන් හරි කැමැති අතිශෝක්තියක් නැති ඉතිහාසයකට.ඒ ඉතිහාසය සැබෑ දක්ශයා,රණශූරයා ,තාක්ෂණය හා යතාර්තය අපූරුවට මතු කරනවා.අවංකව ආඩම්බර වෙන්න පුලුවන් ප්‍රෞඪ ඉතිහාසයක් අප සතුයි.. ඒ වගේම එහි අනිත් පැත්තද නැතුවාම නොවේ.නමුත් දනාත්මක පැත්ත විශාල වශයෙන් පැරණි ලාංකිකයා සතු බව මේ කතා වලින් අපිට පෙනී යනවා.
ප්‍රසස්ත නිවේදක නුවන් ලියනගේ හා මහාචාර්ය රාජ් සෝමදේව ඉතිහාස කරුනු මැදිහත් බවකින් අපිට අනාවරණය කරන බවක් තමා පෙන්න තියෙන්නෙ.මට මුලදි ඒ ක්‍රමේ ඇල්ලුවෙ නෑ.දැන් මන් ඒ ක්‍රමේට ගොඩක් කැමැති.හේතුව මුලින් කිව්ව කරුණ.

මම ඉපදුනේ 1938දී.මා කුඩා කාලයේදී මාලදිවයිනෙන් ලංකාවට කප්පන් ගෙනා බව මතකයි.එවකට තිබූ දිනමිණ පතුයේ කප්පන් ගෙනෙන පින්තූර පලවී තිබුණා.මා සිතන්නේ 1945දී පමණ.
මම නම් අලි පෙරහැරට වත් පාවිච්චි කරනවට විරුද්දයි. ඒක හරිම අශිෂ්ට දෙයක්.
මේ වැඩසටහන තවත් දිර්ඝ කාලයක් කරගෙන යෑමට ශක්තිය ධෛර්යය ලැබේවා කියලා ප්‍රාර්ථනා කරනවා

මාලදිවයින අපගේ යටත් විජිතයක් බවත්, ඔවුන් අපට කප්පම් ගෙවීම පවා කළ බවත් අප අසා තිබුනා. මාලදිවයිනට නිදහස ලබා දුන් බව මම කුඩා කාලයේ (මම අසූ විය ඉක්මවූවෙක්මි.) පුවත් පතක දුටුවාත් මතකයි.

Just asking, is it really correct to call the Wedda community as "ආදිවාසි"? It gives the impression as rest of the community in Sri Lanaka aren't not decedents of the ආදිවාසි who settled in Sri Lanka from pre-history. This word may be right in countries in like the US, or Australia where there are settlers. There's a genuine separability between who's ආදිවාසි and who's not in such countries were in SL it's not really the case. Any comment on this?
indeed, you are right. Sometimes Sinhalese can be more 'Adivasi' than the Veddahs. The early settlers in Sri Lanka were hunter-gatherers. Some turned to farm and started building civilization. These people came to be known as Sinhalese. Albeit, having some Indo-Aryan genetic input, they too are Adivasis due to the continuity of presence. Veddahs are not an unmixed group. later on in history, they got mixed with Sinhalese and the Mallabers. It is in the records as well as their genetics. For more accuracy, Comprehensive genetic study is needed.

Mahavamsa is a good and true source to learn about history.. only the sinhalese origin part has some legendary stuff but still have some true information because of both local and foreign evidence.. but which culture doesn't have em.. even the Turkish people are decendents of a wolf acording to their mythology..
