    Well put. I don't know why a lot of US athletes can't understand that being disrespectful to someone making the effort to speak *your* language is not a good look and is just a weak argument (it's not even an argument in fact. It shows that you have nothing better to say).

      What? Vagner was born in Brazil. Everyone at their level of Jiu jitsu all think merrigali is copying Gordon Ryans foot print. The sad thing is if merrigali was American. He would be better financially than Gordon Ryan. Gordon and merrigali have a very I mentality. Vagner is right, merrigali couldn't call Pena. Pena and Craig Jones have trained together. In Brazil and America, merrigali and Gordon aren't very liked in the Jiu jitsu community.

The reason it was a good disrespect to get under merrigali skin is because merrigali trains people in the US.

    @m.douglas5406 29 дней назад +2

    I'm not sure if I totally agree with Vagner on Nicholas just beating his recent lineup just by trash talk and mental pressure. However, it might have just been a tactical jab at Nicholas' ego by saying so. To get him to reveal his emotions. Furthermore, Vagner handled him with levelheadedness in that press conference, and defeated him mentally. Truly. That was a sight to see. He was spot on about Nicholas not being himself. Spot on about his emotions not being a sign of mental strength. As Vagner was pressing into that, you could see and hear the insecurity. I will say, at the 1:00:30 mark Vagner begin to hold him in his palm, mentally, with the "your are selfish" and "you are trying to emulate someone else" comments (again). Then Nicholas began to interrupt him (really coming unglued) and Vagner never regained that same wording, or momentum back. I think Vagner could have really done him in right then. I think it was a real missed opportunity. Nevertheless. Vagner definitely won that exchange. Sheesh. Can't wait for tomorrow!

    • @Koko161081
      @Koko161081 29 дней назад

      I think you overestimate how effective these verbal exchanges actually are. Vagner also managed to clearly "beat" Gordon during their press conference a few months back, but then got demolished on the mat. He's clearly less socially awkward and more articulate than Meregali, but I highly doubt that he won't get dominated tonight.

    • @m.douglas5406
      @m.douglas5406 29 дней назад +1

      @@Koko161081 oh don't get me wrong. I totally understand that. And I agree. Simply pointing out that Vagner was better in the press conference doesn't definitively mean "Oh wow, Nicholas will now lose the match". I don't think there is much of a chance for Vagner on this match. Nevertheless, Vagner got to him during that exchange. That isn't questionable.

Gordon has no friends and cucked his misses to his brother, gordon can barely move in the day and is constantly sad about his stomach. If merrigali thinks he will be the next gordon ryan financialy, he wont be. John daninher really gets his students to use I a lot but also keeps his students to only train under him and john seems to really promote jiu jitsu to get big but only under his name. The new wave team, they all have this arrogance and a weird false alpha personality. Vagner is right, jiu jitsu is fun and all but its a small sport.
