When you are borne extremely rich and privilege like Margaret..Litterally at the TOP of world society. Being rich is your constant state, your normal, your ORDINARY... Of course she would feel even more acutely the unhappy of a lost love.
I agree, I could be wrong but I imagine “no you can’t have this” was not a phrase commonly heard by her. Given her position she might have been told she cant act in a certain way or be seen doing something but from a pure possession perspective she was literally the princess. Am I suggesting she regards a lover as a possession? Not sure 🤔 but it makes gor fascinating watching!! Thanks for you comment!
I mean, I’d argue that she is alone in many ways. (In this, I’m only referring to the Crown’s portrayal, not the real-life person) Even though her experience is not a wholly unique one, there aren’t many others that she can share in this pain and sadness with, so in that sense she is alone. Additionally, happiness is not really derived from one’s circumstances. Sure, it’s much easier to find happiness when you’re not having to worry about where your next meal is coming from, but happiness is so intrinsically based that anyone, in any station, could be happy or unhappy. I don’t think it’s wrong for the Crown to sympathize with someone like her.
