@@dedo7326You're right, this guy is Jonah Nimoy doing the rythm guitar, so yeah, he and Dex are doing the same thing, that's why Dex can and isn't playing his guitar during the last song... anyway, Jonah is with the band for a few years already as a tour member, you can see him in 2019 live performances always standing next to the drums. At least Dex was really singing back there.
I really dont think so, I think its just a pretty OTT'd vocal mix - with some back tracks here and there. I could be wrong, but I think its just his awesome voice.

I've seen offspring twice and this sounds too perfect to be live to be honest. Anyone with half an ear or that has ever heard dex live knows something isn't quite right here. Sounds too much like the album. Last time I saw them he was struggling to hit the high notes but at least it sounded real. I can't quite tell what's going on but I'm not fooled with this

Offspring have been washed up for like 15 years. They're the same age as Bad Religion yet perform like they're 20 years older. I get that Bad Religion has never had a hiatus and have always been consistently putting out new music and touring, but the Offspring are just bad.

Don't get me wrong, I love The Offspring.....but this is so obviously autotuned, or the vocals pre-recorded. Most likely both though, as this is horrid. I would have felt TOTALLY RIPPED OFF if i had paid to see this performance live. If you simply can't trust your own voice to be able to hit it like you used to, then stick to softer acoustic versions, and don't trust your fans to be happy with such a sub-par "live" performance.

Sorry to disappoint you but most of the vocals are playback. You can see it clearly a few times when the production team screwed up and you could hear both his voice and the playback.
I loved offspring in the late 90’s. We all get old and it’s a part of life. These guys look great, but I can’t help thinking of a young and cool hip Dexter, where does the time go :-(

Unfortunately it’s all doctored. Even Josh in “the kids aren’t alright”. In the chorus he’s playing 2/4 on the ride, when we’re clearly hearing 4/4 on the ride bell. Don’t get me started on the vocals.
I noticed that too and commented. They tried running pre recorded tracks with the live mix and failed miserably. The vocals being god fucking awful, Dexter never really could sing his own songs live, even when he was a younger man.
The vocals are absolutely pre-recorded (sounds like the album vocals pitched down) but the drums aren't in their entirety; what you're hearing there is a backing track of shakers, not the ride bell. It's also on the album.
54:32 busted. So sad to see this kind of band playing playback. But why. That is exactly what makes Rock music different from all others. They don't give a f if it doesn't sound like on studio track. That's the beauty of it.
Nah, they just use some tracks of voices of the guy of "pretty fly", but you can hear the guitars and voices mistakes and some songs with lower notes for Dexter to sing, and the difficult beginning of Noodle in "The kids aren't alright"

That performance was seriously amazing. If i ever have the chance i am going to see them in concert. I clicked this out of curiosity and i ended watching every songs and they were all fantastic. Im glad The Offspring are still rocking out and killing it !
It was self-esteem that got me into the offspring I was a baby when I first heard of them and this song is 27 years old so at the time I first heard it this song was like 4 years old haha and Dexter Holland still is a fantastic singer

You are correct, they have backup tracks with not only vocals, also instruments. Almost everyband does that now, they play with backing tracks everysong, thats why they use the hearphones to hear the click, to play on the same tempo or click of the backline track.

The Offspring was the first concert I went, alone with my twin brother when I was 13. This was in Madrid, for the Smash tour and it was f*** amazing. I'm still a fan after 27 years. This concert took me back to that epic night. Thank you so much, love you guys!!

@@alegutierrezmusic No, he is not. Daniel is absolutely right, vocal track and some additional sounds are prerecorded. You can very often hear doubling vocal, that is when Dexter sings with the tape. Suddenly it is only one vocal, that is when he stops and just opens his mouth.

The man has some hardcore things to sing and he's getting old but you can't say 99 % is playback it's just not true
@Manuz Diaz only for the first 30 seconds of the gig though. I think they forgot to switch his mic off before the first track started. You can hear vocal doubling for 30 seconds then it just goes to the recording and stays like that for the rest of the e-hem “concert”. At around 53 minutes he actually coughs away from the mic but the vocals keep going. Great band back in the day though.
Glad they fixed the vocals on this. I love the Offspring, but Dexter sounds bad live. It’s just one of those things. Whatever they did here needs to be done at all live shows. Rock on!
Unfortunately Dexter used a backing track with vocals instead of actually singing. The most obvious moment is on 54:29 when he put away the mic to cough but singing continues.

I love the offspring. They’re a really good band and for that reason this video disappointed me. I hate when a really good band lip synchs. It’s not necessary, these guys can play live. You’re gonna go far kid is exactly like the track and you can even see a point where dexter clearly moves away from the mic and the vocal continues during that song. In my opinion I don’t like that. I’d rather see a band screw up than just acting to a track

Yeah, I don't know what's going on here. I suspect the audience heard a live vocal, and we're hearing this edit with the vocal tracks from the actual songs cut in. It's so blatantly obvious that the vocals are from the actual tracks.
I can clearly hear its live. They just pitched and tuned him here and there after, on postproduction. And thats absolutely normal. All shows of this kind do it all the time. They probably used tracks from official records just to mix it with live vocals thats why it sounds like he`s lipsyncing

There's less and less members left in the Offspring at this point it's only Dexter and Noodles. Also I don't think I've ever heard Dexter sing so pitch perfect, and by a big margin at that. He sounds so god damn good in this video. (edit: he's not)
Must make you dissapointed, that's just good lip sync from Dexter. You can both hear and see loud and clear that it's pre recorded. The older tracks is "younger" Dexter who sings, and the vocals on the newer tracks are identical with the album. You're gonna go far, kid is a good example, he is singing the first 10 sec then the studio voice kicks in.

I think this is the JOSH that gets discussed on Music Production Podcasts. Basically, most band drummers suck in the studio, especially the first time in one, and Josh is called in at night to secretly re-record the drum parts for the producer. Sometimes they call him in during the session and the poor drummer has to sit and cry while Josh NAILS IT. They also threaten drummers 'If you can't get this on this take, Im gonna call Josh'. Listen to the Tone Talk podcast with Studio Guitar Ace Time Pierce. They talk about him. Tim Pierce is on every 80s and 90s song you like on guitar. CRAZY. Josh is similar.

И кстати я недавно слышал лайв оффспринг фестиваль не помню какои и звучали они вполне добротно.
I'm gonna say that I see a lot of energy and happiness when they play. The drummer actually fits the band. But I gotta say I'm sorry they had to let Pete go. I'm not gonna judge. I'm still Pete's fan. But I also love Offspring. This is the way they should tune their guitars. It's easier for Dexter to sing. Finally in tune 😂

Even in their prime dexter couldn’t always hit those notes. I’ve seen it both ways. They definitely ran him through a bunch of processors and backing tracks here which leave me wondering is it better to burn out or fade away? I’ve always loved this band. I don’t think they’ll ever get their old form back though.

Nah, they just use some tracks of voices of the guy of "pretty fly", but you can hear the guitars and voices mistakes and some songs with lower notes for Dexter to sing, and the difficult beginning of Noodle in "The kids aren't alright"

That performance was seriously amazing. If i ever have the chance i am going to see them in concert. I clicked this out of curiosity and i ended watching every songs and they were all fantastic. Im glad The Offspring are still rocking out and killing it !

It was self-esteem that got me into the offspring I was a baby when I first heard of them and this song is 27 years old so at the time I first heard it this song was like 4 years old haha and Dexter Holland still is a fantastic singer

You are correct, they have backup tracks with not only vocals, also instruments. Almost everyband does that now, they play with backing tracks everysong, thats why they use the hearphones to hear the click, to play on the same tempo or click of the backline track.

The Offspring was the first concert I went, alone with my twin brother when I was 13. This was in Madrid, for the Smash tour and it was f*** amazing. I'm still a fan after 27 years. This concert took me back to that epic night. Thank you so much, love you guys!!

@@alegutierrezmusic No, he is not. Daniel is absolutely right, vocal track and some additional sounds are prerecorded. You can very often hear doubling vocal, that is when Dexter sings with the tape. Suddenly it is only one vocal, that is when he stops and just opens his mouth.
This would have been 100x more awesome if they weren't using backing tracks for the live lead vocals. Still great to see.

The man has some hardcore things to sing and he's getting old but you can't say 99 % is playback it's just not true

@Manuz Diaz only for the first 30 seconds of the gig though. I think they forgot to switch his mic off before the first track started. You can hear vocal doubling for 30 seconds then it just goes to the recording and stays like that for the rest of the e-hem “concert”. At around 53 minutes he actually coughs away from the mic but the vocals keep going. Great band back in the day though.

Glad they fixed the vocals on this. I love the Offspring, but Dexter sounds bad live. It’s just one of those things. Whatever they did here needs to be done at all live shows. Rock on!
Unfortunately Dexter used a backing track with vocals instead of actually singing. The most obvious moment is on 54:29 when he put away the mic to cough but singing continues.

I love the offspring. They’re a really good band and for that reason this video disappointed me. I hate when a really good band lip synchs. It’s not necessary, these guys can play live. You’re gonna go far kid is exactly like the track and you can even see a point where dexter clearly moves away from the mic and the vocal continues during that song. In my opinion I don’t like that. I’d rather see a band screw up than just acting to a track

Yeah, I don't know what's going on here. I suspect the audience heard a live vocal, and we're hearing this edit with the vocal tracks from the actual songs cut in. It's so blatantly obvious that the vocals are from the actual tracks.

I can clearly hear its live. They just pitched and tuned him here and there after, on postproduction. And thats absolutely normal. All shows of this kind do it all the time.
They probably used tracks from official records just to mix it with live vocals thats why it sounds like he`s lipsyncing

Must make you dissapointed, that's just good lip sync from Dexter. You can both hear and see loud and clear that it's pre recorded. The older tracks is "younger" Dexter who sings, and the vocals on the newer tracks are identical with the album. You're gonna go far, kid is a good example, he is singing the first 10 sec then the studio voice kicks in.

I think this is the JOSH that gets discussed on Music Production Podcasts. Basically, most band drummers suck in the studio, especially the first time in one, and Josh is called in at night to secretly re-record the drum parts for the producer. Sometimes they call him in during the session and the poor drummer has to sit and cry while Josh NAILS IT. They also threaten drummers 'If you can't get this on this take, Im gonna call Josh'. Listen to the Tone Talk podcast with Studio Guitar Ace Time Pierce. They talk about him. Tim Pierce is on every 80s and 90s song you like on guitar. CRAZY. Josh is similar.

@@IVAN-KOMMUNIST_NAGIBATOR_3000 объясняю это не фанера, почитаи что такое постпродакшн концерт игрался в живую, его записывали поканально, а потом на студии уже переписали то что было плохо и причесали все остальное вплоть до автотюна, где то заменили вокальные партии с студииных запией имено вокал скорее всего, и получилась сборная такая солянка которую выпустили в качественнои картинке с качественным звуком! И кстати я недавно слышал лайв оффспринг фестиваль не помню какои и звучали они вполне добротно.

I'm gonna say that I see a lot of energy and happiness when they play. The drummer actually fits the band. But I gotta say I'm sorry they had to let Pete go. I'm not gonna judge. I'm still Pete's fan. But I also love Offspring. This is the way they should tune their guitars. It's easier for Dexter to sing. Finally in tune 😂

Even in their prime dexter couldn’t always hit those notes. I’ve seen it both ways. They definitely ran him through a bunch of processors and backing tracks here which leave me wondering is it better to burn out or fade away? I’ve always loved this band. I don’t think they’ll ever get their old form back though.
