the bird on the fence with the cat was a Australian Magpie (Not a UK Magpie) and normally they dont sound like a rooster hahaha but they can imitate other sounds pretty good, their normal call is a more sing-songy warble.
The ones you called porcupines are Echidnas (pronounced E-kid-nah). They're Monotremes which are egg laying mammals and are only 1 of 2 in the world, both in Australia, the other one is the Platypus.
Then a Wombat in the Snow

Kangaroos are good swimmers. That was a wombat in the snow.

That wasn't a gator, it was a crock. Bigger and more aggressive.
Roos at the beach is very common away from the cities.
Yes, our possums are very different to yours.

That was a possum in the log a marsupial native to Australia and New Guinea. The animal that you guys call a possum in the US is actually an Opossum which is a completely different animal. Possums in Australia look cute although sometimes they can be annoying if they find a way to get into your roof cavity. In comparison your opoosums look ugly I dont know how aggresive they are but they sure dont look real friendly. The black and white bird is the Australian magpie the males are famous for swooping people during nesting season wouldnt be surprised if that one was chasing a hanglider or a drone, The gator was actually a salt water crocodile the biggest most aggresive speciies of crocodiilian in the world. The animal that looked like a hedgehog was actually an Echidna which is a monotreme one of only 2 egg laying mammals both of them can only be found in Australia. That was a wombat in the snow which is a burrowing marsupial closely related to the koala. There are places in Australia that are popular with tourists who want to see kangaroos on the beach you normally haveto go really early in the mornings or late in the afternoon to catch them.

Thanks for the clarification, haha. I was wondering why the names were practically the same but different animals. Makes more sense now though.
