It’s the FDA they have the most expensive lawyers money can buy and a bunch of judges and politicians. We have been knowingly and unknowingly consuming preservatives that cause cancer, dye that causes cancer and infertility and hormones for decades. Nothing has changed. If you want real “organic” produce either go to a farmers market that you trust or grow it yourself. “Organic” is just a word companies use to get “health conscious” people to buy their products. I’ll tell you a secret about strawberries. It is white because it is picked GREEN AND UNRIPEN. She turns red after, with the help of gas. It lasts longer because the fruit is not ripe. farm strawberries only last a few days. it’s the same with bananas, they are picked and transported green. just before selling, add gas. The gas used to ripen bananas is ethylene. It acts as a natural phytohormone. Under natural temperature conditions, it starts the metabolism inside the fruit. In nature, under the influence of ethylene, the process of shedding leaves from trees in the fall and ripening of fruits occurs.

@@Valour1111 It is natural. Ever wonder why once one banana starts turning brown the whole bunch accelerates in ripening? They're releasing ethylene gas. You can put ripening bananas in a closed container with unripe fruit, right off a tree, and it will accelerate ripening though yes, it doesn't taste as good as fruit that ripens on the tree. All the original comment explained was why they pack it green and unripe. Because if they don't then so much would go to waste. Ripe fruit goes bad quick. So either grow your own fruit in your backyard or quit acting like this is magic. This isn't like lab grown meat.

This explains SO much! One of my favorite foods ever are peaches, but for the last couple of years they are rock hard when I get them, and they NEVER EVER ripen! The skins shrivels up, but the actual peach meat remains like rubber and has no flavor. I’ve cut them into pieces and left them outdoors thinking maybe the growing conditions just suck, but the wildlife won’t touch them. If a raccoon won’t touch it, and ants won’t touch it, nor any other critter that would normally devour something like this won’t touch it… don’t eat it!

The bananas that humans commonly eat, such as the Cavendish variety, have been selectively bred over thousands of years, primarily for desirable traits like taste, size, and resistance to diseases. This selective breeding is a form of genetic modification, but it's important to note that it's different from modern genetic engineering techniques where genes are directly altered in a laboratory.
In the case of bananas, their evolution through selective breeding has led to genetic changes over time, making them distinct from their wild ancestors. However, this process does not involve modern genetic modification techniques that alter genes at a molecular level.
So, while bananas eaten today are the result of human intervention through selective breeding, they are not typically considered genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in the same sense as crops that have had their DNA altered using biotechnology in a laboratory.

has no one been to a nursery?? You can get different varieties of produce. Like obviously a granny smith apple looks and tastes very different from a red delicious, because they're different varieties. It's like dog breeds, through selective breeding we've created different varieties of produce that meet different needs and are more resistant to disease and pests. For some reason applies and to some extent tomatoes and potatoes are really the only ones people think about (think about tomatoes, yes we have stuff like plum or cherry to describe the size, but beyond that you'll see "comet cherry tomatoes" which were selectively bred to be sweeter to be used as a snack)
For the strawberries, the ones from a local farm are a different variety than the one from the grocery store. I've read the red middle strawberries are the more common variety in England, but no idea if it's true.
Another example, I got kumato variety tomatoes this year as my big tomato, and sun sugar for cherry tomatoes... and yes I picked the big tomatoes solely because their name made me laugh.
I encourage everyone to grow as much of their own food as they can, obviously it's not always possible, but as long as you have even a tiny bit of space outside you can grow (I grew tomatoes in a bucket on my ex's apartment balcony, which was barely big enough for a folding chair lol). Heck you can even grow some things inside by a window.
also I've have a home grown pumpkin last over a year, and I've had home grown watermelons be that weird texture 🤷🏻‍♀️

it’s not reasonable for everyone to do it. especially living in an apartment can make it hard. weather conditions, sunlight access, bugs, etc. makes it tough. my grandparents up north do a bunch of gardening and growing fruits, but majority of the time they die due to weather or just unable to grow.
it’s not about us not even trying to grow food, it’s about the difficultly levels and accessibility, and other outside factors that makes people just give up because it costs more than what it produces.
or you could be still living with your parents and they don’t have it in the budget to buy you seeds and gardening stuff. not to mention disabilities can hinder a person’s ability to even take care of themselves.

8:35 So basically one thing we need to know is that none of our bananas are "real". For example, bananas (most) have giant seeds which makes most of it inedible, although i have heard they are very tasty. We did have a certain type of banana we enjoyed but it went extinct a few decades ago (this is what artificial flavor banana is). Bananas are still very threatened by the fungus that did this. The bananas we eat are nearly impossible to plant because of the tiny mostly infertile seeds. Idk, you can try it if you want, I am not wasting food because I have read a lot on it. From what I have heard the way they get more trees is through propagation.
Oh and also this is kinda silly 😭 The food evolved over time. It would be better if they included natural fruit and veggies now compared to commercial fruit and veggies now.

8:31 Okay I just gotta throw my two cents in about the bananas because people really need to get their facts straight about that. The bananas she referred to that you get in "nature" are WILD BANANAS WHICH ARE A DIFFERENT VARIETY of banana than what you see in the store. Wild bananas were selectively bred to make some of the seedless varieties we see at the store. There most certainly are gmo bananas as well, but they were modified from the selectively bred seedless bananas. I work with an entire patch of "wild" banana trees that produce fruit with a lot of seeds like you can see in the photo. I absolutely love bananas and I could be taking home massive amounts of them but guess what, I don't because they're such a pain in the ass to eat or make anything out of so they're purely ornamental at this point. You're perfectly fine getting organic bananas from your local grocery store or farmer's market

Ok im a little confused. Either your confused or spreading false information. The Apeel stuff and chemicals is interesting. However you said the bananas we get in stores are different then the natural ones. Bananas used to hsve a shit ton of seeds. We genetically modified alot of fruits and vegetabkes to yield larger harvest / make bigger individual fruits / more resistent. The fruits and vegatables we get still go bad quickly. Apples last awhile. Oranges last awhile. Strawberrys do not. Watermelon does not. Idk. I think millennium brain rot from tiktok is realm

This is not good. Great job exploring your food people...I want you all to consider the answer is, Bible Prophecy coming true, It's happening in Matthew 24. I looked it up after God speaking it to me for several days." Nation will rise against nation", and so much more. Everyone, please, to save your Soul, for eternity and is the most important thing in the entire Universe, we each need to speak to Jesus and ask him for him to forgive you, and repent, then you will be safe from the enemy. Please do so right now. We all never know when the end will be. In Christ Jesus, It's all in the Bible..get one before they are outlawed.
