    13:19 Looking closely at the menu, the ice cream is 5$ ~ 6$, and the two menus that cost around 15$ are shaved ice(팥빙수/Patbingsu)
    The amount of shaved ice is usually large, so you can think of it as serving for two people. In particular, as it is written on the signboard of that store, it uses the best ingredients such as Korean red beans from the Alpine region and organic sugar which is the best in Korea, and the ice cream uses the highest quality local farm natural organic milk. This seems to be a high-quality shop made with high-quality materials and quality..

      yes, correct. the $15-16 ice cream is for two people. it seems expensive, but still worth. try next time.

    $26 in Korea, but that would be $126 ride in Japan's Shinkansen. I've been on bullet trains in both Korea and Japan. It's outrageously expensive in Japan, while the income level is both countries are about the same. I know Korail is public, while JR is private. Does that explain the difference? I don't know.

    • @FixBuildGo
      @FixBuildGo 2 года назад +11

      I believe public transit in Korea is subsidized. So that would make a difference (public vs private).

      FYI, the average monthly wage in Korea is higher than that in Japan by nearly 20% and the minimum hourly wage in Korea is higher than that in Japan by 15~54%. The big differences of the public transportation prices between the two countries basically comes from the fiscal health of each government. Due to its world's highest debt level, the Japanese government can't afford to subsidize the public transportation while the Korean government has one of the most healthy financial condition in the world.

    • @yogi4319
      @yogi4319 2 года назад +2

      @@jclulu3942 Thanks for your insight. That may also explain the high highway tolls in Japan. But how do you explain the difference in taxi fares between two countries? I find that taxi fares in Tokyo are at least triple those of Seoul. I assume taxi companies are private in both countries. I suspect that there may be other structural inefficiencies in play in Japan.

    Maybe the fancy dessert is "팥빙수" crush iced bowl with red bean. Indeed this is famous dessert for Korean especially in summer. And also this is so unique dessert because you can't see "팥빙수" else where. If possible I surely would recommend to try it someday. The bowl is for 2 or 3 persons so almost 7 or 8 thousand won for each. When you bite at first, you can feel head shock due to icy chill. That's why this is called summer dessert.

    • @wooer73
      @wooer73 2 года назад +6

      when it comes to Jeon-Ju , we have "must-eat list". ○ Bibim-bab ○ Back-ban ○ Bean-sprouts rice soup . If you have a chance to try Bibim-bab, check whether the bowl is brass stuff or not. Actually using brass ware restaurant is probably good. Indeed, Korea has long history for brass tech and was really famous for it in the world. Brass ware remain food fresh and safe in long term. Or you can be served by hot rock bowl and this case you can enjoy the Bibim-bab totally different vibe.

    Very expressive that both of you did 30K for hiking in last video. I don't blame you guys have to stay in your room the whole next day! Compare to Vietnam, the foods in Korea must more expensive. Not sure it's same price if you eat Korean foods in Vietnam or not! I see most the signs in Korea are Korean language! For me it's not easy to find location, shop, restaurants...even by Google map there. It's the same when you are in Japan too!( I was transferred flight from Tokyo to Saigon Vietnam in 2013 to visit my family from here). I like the train transportation systems in Korea . They are very technology, convenient with affordable price. Seemed both of you are having fun when you discovered this country. 😀 Tia has a fresh beauty face without makeup! I recommand you to visit Gyeong-gi jeon(경기전) which enshrines the official portrait of the founder of the Joseon Dynasty(1392-1910). It is a rare chance to see the king’s actual appearances. Gyeong-gi jeon is in the middle of the hanok village, so you can find the place easily. Just across the Gyeong-gi jeon, there is a place called Dawoorang(다우랑) which is famous for it’s delicious dumplings! It has various kinds of dumplings to go. One more thing! Why don’t you try to wear korean traditional wardrobes?^^ You sure find many rental shops for those clothes. They will help you dress up in traditional styles. You could be a King and Queen or bride and bridegroom. Rental shop staffs will kindly help you transform into people in the Joseon dynasty. It will be absolutely fun! Have a nice trip!

Recently into cafe, so thinking of visiting places like ikseon-dong and maybe Seong-su dong area. The Jamsil area (*around Olympic park) has nice scenery too.
      Try to visit one of their big departmental store for experience too (*think COEX, Lotte, or even I PARK mall).

      Oh I forgot to mention, be sure to add Squid option (O-jing-euh in Korean) to the bean sprout broth. There are not that many options anyway.

    How about visiting Jeonju Hanok Rail Bike Co.? I think you would enjoy cycling through the old railway tracks with great views of the sceneries along the way.

    GO to a Buddhist temple there, ask about it. It is in a deep mountain area, you have to hike up to it. Its very very beautiful, you can stay for two nights there, or taking up some of their practice all for free, also have tea with the master. I did it! The early morning meditation was a killer though, 4 am. But its all worth it!

      Sorry, I dont recommend going Busan. (not delicious food, not beautiful sea - because skyscrapers like LCT (LCT is called an apartment in Korea, but it is a privately owned condo in US) ruined the beauty of the sea.

    To be honest- which is quite well known for korean locals though- bibimbap is least item for jeonju locals as there are more outstanding dishes than bibimbap in terms of taste. I can't say bibimbap is bad but notso much outstanding in comparison with other domestic players.. Imho, beansprout stew is best and just another level in jeonju. I never liked beansprout stew before i visited Jeonju...which is 29yrs ever firsttime, turningpoint and eyeopening experience..in jeonra province jeonju the north jeonra is more about good genuine quality of fermented sauce ..while south jeonra is more about fusion and varieies more about breaking through and challenging of good tasty food..roughly speaking. So wish you guys have chance to taste genuine quality fermented sauce in Jeonju and feel happy afterward by probiotic happy hormone emission. Haha you will tell it when you find a food is unnecessarily best taste but giving mysteriously lasting happines.. That can also be a feeling you have genuine Makgeolry...and Jeonju's specialty is also makgeolry set meal.. But quality makgeolry seems more available in south jeonra province. And Jeonju's makgeolry culture is more recognized by side dishes come along with it. And another worth trying item is cold soba noodle soup. Jeonju provide her own unique soba which is fusion of japanese and local..so Unique cool soba. Is also nationwidley known. Must be refreshing and cooling after walking in this season. And don't forget 팥빙수 as well which is way better than average ones you can expect in Seoul. As i am from seoul.

    Your travel videos are so helpful! My husband and I are doing a Vietnam and Korea trip next year. I am not worried about Vietnam since Hanoi is my hometown and I am Vietnamese, but upon doing research about Korea, I am slightly nervous. Did you guys have a hard time finding authentic, local Korean spots where you can navigate with English? We are both foodies and would love to eat as authentically as possible, but it seems like most Korean restaurants only have menus in Korean?

    • @OnePackWanderers
      @OnePackWanderers  2 года назад

      Hey! If you guys would like to have English menus, Seoul is pretty good for that. Once you get into the smaller towns & cities, English is much less common outside of only the most touristy restaurants.

    두 사람이 역에 들어 갈 때 기차표를 검사 안했을겁나다.
    또 기차안에서도 기차표를 보자는 사람도 없었을 것이고요.
    그러나 승무원은 부정탑승자가 있는지 알고 있습니다.
    그리고 기차의 도착시간과 출발시간은 항상 1분의 오차도 없습니다.
    그리고 한국의 더많은 역사와 유물을 보고싶다면 경주를 추천합니다.

    안녕하세요. 저는 서울에서 태어나고 자랐지만 저의 친척분들은 전주이기때문에 전주를 자주방문합니다. 우리나라의 국립박물관들은 다 무료입니다. 그리고 유료박물관은 그지역의 사람들에게 주차 및 현지지역할인도받습니다. 그리고 전철및 기차는 우리나라의 부속기관쪽에서 관리하기때문에 가격은 저렴합니다만, 대부분의 한국인들은 지하철, 버스를 자주이용하고 대부분은 자동차가 있기때문에 기차는 자주 애용하지 않습니다. 기차는 보통 서울에서 부산이나 다른 남부지방을 갈때나 여행갈때 이용하는 경우가 많습니다. 저는 가끔 기차가 그리울때 일년에 1번정도 이용합니다. 그리고 전주의 전통시장은 저녁일찍문을 닫습니다. 시골은 대부분의 상점들이 수도권지역보다 문을 일찍닫습니다. 그리고 현지인들은 콩나물국밥을 자주먹기때문에 다른메뉴를 더 좋아합니다. 현지인들이 자주가는 곳의 유명한 가게 이름은 '진미집'이나 '베테랑 칼국수'입니다. 그리고 전주도 구시가지와 신시가지 도시가 따로 있습니다. 혹시 다른곳을 이용하신다면 신라에는 경주의 문화가 있다면, 백제에는 부여의 문화가 있습니다. 괜찮은 지역을 말씀드리자면 고창, 부여, 경주, 속초, 양양, 여수, 부산, 정선, 평창, 가평, 무주, 대천, 울진, 춘천, 담양, 거제 등의 지역이 있습니다. 그리고 산은 설악산, 지리산, 한라산이 제일 유명합니다. 여행하시는데 참조하시길 바랍니다. 그리고 우리나라는 시대에따라 고조선, 고구려, 백제, 신라, 가야, 조선등의 명칭이 있었습니다. 시대에 따라 나라이름도 변화하게 된것입니다. 그당시의 시대에따라서 문화와 생활과 다르게변모해왔습니다. 그리고 팁을 하나 드리자면 나중에 오리온에서 나온 초코파이를 전자렌지에 20초 돌려드시면 정말 맛있습니다. 현지인들은 풍년제과 처음에만 갔었고 대부분 마트나 인터넷 쇼핑몰에서 주문하거나 일반적인 초코파이를 주문합니다. 그리고 한국은 배달이 발달이 잘되어있어서 오늘주문하면 내일아침새벽에 물건이 도착해서 있습니다. 그리고 대부분이 쿠팡을 애용하는데 아침에 주문하면 당일 저녁에 배송받는 것도 이곳에서는 가능합니다.
