    To Aussies: When covid first happened, toilet paper sold out of your supermarkets? The bum gun she was referring to, is the local version of the French Bidet. The French were right, ditch your toilet paper fascinations. Also, water pressure varies in Cambodia. If you're staying anywhere for a significant length of time, install a tap on your bum gun where the hose connects to the wall. and similar water outlets. You half close it on the bum gun to reduce the flow.
    In most places a low water pressure is more likely the problem. But those small taps can be purchased for less than a dollar and really make it easy to fix leaks. For example, I don't like that particular brand of bum gun in this video and will never buy one again. Even after tightening with locking grip pliers, the face can become loose and leak.

    • @ForRiel
      @ForRiel  Год назад

      Wow, Martin, you are a bum gun aficionado! Impressive knowledge right there! I'm going to copy this info so that I can refer to it if/when we move to a different place. Thanks so much for your comment! :)

    • @martinherald6492
      @martinherald6492 Год назад

      @@ForRiel Oh, I forgot... don't forget to buy a roll of thread tape at the same store. You need to wrap it in the direction of the thread, or the new tap will leak.
      Or, your average Khmer handy man will fit it for a couple of dollars.

    Hi Jeremy and Claire , thanks for the grand tour , a really nice comfy apartment , love the way you utilize all the space , really creative filling the plastic jugs with water , and using them as weights , was so disappointed to hear about Rehash Trash going under , such a wonderful group of ladies , doing such needed and very creative work , it would be nice if they can somehow make a comeback when things get better , a longer time lease usually saves a buck or two , good job Jeremy , looking forward to your next adventure , take care of yourselves , Peace ...

      @ForRiel  3 года назад

      Hey Brian, yeah it was a real shame when Rehash Trash closed. I went to their closing down sale, must have been in April last year. It was really sad to see, but in some ways better than limping along for another year trying to stay afloat like so many other businesses in Siem Reap. At least the women had a chance of finding other work before things got really bad. I also hope they can reopen at some stage. Surely there's a market for an online store that ships their lovely wares around the world. It's a beautiful day out there - time to go on another adventure! Take care and stay safe :)

    Pool and AC fòr $200 is a good deal. But I prefer the lush fruit garden with separate houses where I rent. Prices from $50 , for student accommodation , to $500 for a 2 story house, per month. My place is a 2 bedroom both with AC, 2 bathroom , kitchen, lounge, and porch, for $350 per month. Power costs about $130 per month.

      It really depends where you want to live. Accommodation is hard to come by in Kampot - much easier in Siem Reap or Phnom Penh. Try IPS Cambodia - they are very professional.
